Lian Li will release a desk / PC case hybrid in July for $1,000 and $1,200

Minimalism. I like it. Although I do wonder if it could handle my rage after dying to a spawn camper.

The price sounds high but I suppose a DIY version isn't especially cheap either if you consider the time spent along with the custom metal, paint, and glass work?

just get a custom built one

How are you supposed to turn on the monitors? The buttons should be facing outward.

0/10 good try console plebian pcmasterrace is never fooled.

Hehe.. looks like they wired the buttons below the monitors. I don't think I'd go with that lighting personally, but to each his own.

oh boy, that glass top sure isn't going to be super dusty after a few days

and man my neck is sure going to love me staring at that high ass monitor

and I can't wait to hear a loud fan noise in front of me while the table overheats

Designer #1: "So we've made the top portion ascribe to hard angles. Do we have the go ahead to follow through with the same aesthetic the legs?"

Management: "No, it would be cheaper to use standard bent tubing."

Designer #2: "But that would look terrible and ruin the aesthetic."

Management: "Did you miss the chart that explains the cost difference between the two?"

Designer #1: "On top of being profitable, this is going to cost over 1K."

Management: "So?"

Good idea, poor execution. Why is there a lower seperate keyboard tray? It would be much nicer if it was just one flat surface.

What do you need two motherboards for?

I look at this and think "people complained about the light bar on the DS4...".

You can turn those off, either in the OS or BIOS.

I'm thinking of building something like this. I have a large format CNC router and could easily mill the aluminum and wood, but I'm also thinking this could be an opportunity to build a few for others.

From the response in this thread it seems there is a market for desks like this.

Some day I am going to buy one of these but right now money going to get tight for super upgrade and I am already set for about 2 years so no not happening for a while.

I saw an FL company put one of these together on that Vanilla Ice Project show, and it kinda blew my mind. Would love an integrated solution like this!

Edit: Agreed that the lower kb shelf is no bueno.

The advantage of using this desk/case is not immediately clear to me.

What are the pros?
Little space wasted on an external case for a computer, integration cuts down on wire clutter, crappy legs make it look like a wal-mart dorm desk so potential thieves will pass it by.
