Lies of P King's Flame and Gamepass

Fun and fairly challenging game that I WAS enjoying till I encounter the Kings Flame.

Don't get me wrong, I've died my fair share getting to this point but damn. This guy is beating the shit outta me. Not using anymore summons cause what's the point? Spectre runs in spamming attacks with no regard for his health and non existent defense. He'll be dead before getting his health to half.

Then there's the 2nd phase where this asshole starts shooting oil and fireballs. 😒🙄 And covers the floor with flames...

And for those reasons I turned it off and I'm here venting my frustration 🫤 Thankful for Gamepass cause had a paid full price I'd have gotten better use of the money lighting it on fire.

I know it's not happening but patch in an easy mode for old heads like myself.

Beat his heavily telegraphed phase 1 with well timed dodges and deflects. For phase 2 unload with a fully charged attacks and spam projectile items. Also, there is a talisman for damage bonus to puppets and blitz electric grindstone/item for your weapon. There is also an item to remove the burning status and reduce build up. Spacing for giant AoE is key to survival.

Can you give a quick summary on the following games and state if you completed them?

Dark Souls
Dark Souls 3
Sekiro
Elden Ring

This is just how these games go sometimes. When I first started playing these games I always waited until they were $20 because I knew I would reach a boss I couldn't beat and die non-stop get annoyed and give up.

Did it with Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Nioh. Then one day out of nowhere I beat Sekiro. Which I actually got day 1 because it just looked so cool. When back and beat Dark Souls 3. Then I beat Bloodborne somehow. I used to watch videos of how to beat Bloodborne bosses and still couldn't do what people were doing but now it worked for me.

So maybe just put this game away. One day maybe you'll get used to these sort of games and just learn how to beat them I don't know.

Oh, yeah, he's prick. Best tactic is to douse him in electricity. The electric baton weapon you can buy from the merchant in the abandoned apartment messes him up, as do electric grenades (which I think he sells too).

Weird, I always found Bloodborne very manageable difficulty wise and actually one of their least challenging games. I mean, most fights are about aggression so its more or less about knowing which side to circle around in order to dodge the stronger attacks. I guess it depends if you allow yourself to be intimidated by the sound/visual design! I always found it funny that if you turn the sound off a lot of the fights feel a lot tamer without the bestial screams etc.

I mean the point of the summons is to act as a brief buffer not to beat the game for you. Also you get to a point where you can heal them.

This boss really isn’t that big of a deal. This is very early in the game so if he’s making you want to quit, now is the time because you’ll never see the end if this is a huge skill check for you.

Use the summon, get the tool that lets you heal your summon. Let the summon aggro, and attack from behind carefully. The game overall isn't that bad, I didn't lose my shit until the second-last boss, and even that I eventually beat. And my character build was crap and not optimized at all.

Lies of P alongside Nioh are my fav Soulslike games but I'll admit the bosses can be fucking ridiculous and tanky af, especially later on. My advise for you is to try to utilize the parry mechanic more because I assume you're not using it, with no mention in the op.

To me it was the hardest one by far. Dark Souls seemed more manageable to me. I was very surprised when I was able to go back and beat it. The most surprising part is I didn't enjoy it as much as others did. I see so many people say it's their best game and to me it's honestly my least favorite game from them. Which doesn't mean it's a bad game it's obviously still a very good game but out of all their games it's the one I enjoyed the least. The second of the game where monsters resurrect just wasn't something I liked.

Somebody tell him about the final alchemist boss AND the nameless puppet one immediately after that 😁

In all seriousness though, the game was pretty much smooth sailing for its better part minus some platforming bullshit and boss battle(s) here and there - the 2 final bosses completely broke me though, never have I been so angry by playing a game in the last 15+ years.

Anyway, managed to complete it - and what game did i choose to play after this ? Black Myth Wukong...with its Yellow Loong, Scorpion bandit, 100 eyes centipede, Erlang and the final - absolutely bullshit - the great sage boss, FML...

I really need to tone down blood pressure altering games, not good for my health anymore 😁

Laxasia? These two were easy in comparison, especially Manus.

Manus - that's the guy !
Him and the nameless puppet...oh boy...
Laxasia I beat in 3-4 tries btw.

That boss in the swamp was also pretty bullshit as were the 2 ones were you fight the whole brothers gang.

The game's biggest bullshit though is the fact that after a certain point, EVERY boss has a 2nd phase, something which not only gets tiring but actually irritating - and that's the difference between FROM games and all the other "imitators", in FROM games a 2nd phase is something new/fresh, in Lies of P though you were "well, let's see how much BS the 2nd phase is gonna be", it's like, they thought that this was gonna be their differentiating "gimmick" but IMO, it got detrimental to the whole enjoyment after a while.

...that, and the absolutely strict BS parry timing

Just use a mod to decrease difficulty.

Had to do that with the Fallen Archbishop, and from that point forward just played th rest of the game that way.

One thing I'll say is the mod makes the game a bit "too easy" so maybe just better to use it for that boss then turn it off (rinse repeat as needed, to get through whatever section).

Dark Souls
Dark Souls 3
Sekiro
Elden Ring
DS: Beat it.
DS3: Beginning area tentacles heads took my soul
Sekiro: Quit after the fat bastard 1st boss
Elden Ring: Open world fatigue. Pass

Not mentioned but I'll through them in

Demon Souls: Beat it. Fuck the Maneaters
Bloodborne: Multiple playthroughs. Summoning actual humans helps 😆

Think I just need to farm levels and master the block. There is much point of dodging or running it seems.

Edit: to the above comment, I'm on Xbox. I'm guessing you're modding on PC? Game had a nice challenge to it but this guy is ridiculous or I'm underleveled 🤷‍♂️

Eh? Almost every major boss in Elden Ring has a second phase, and the second phase is invariably a batshit insane amusement park ride of absolute bullshit.

Lies of P has an irritating difficulty curve where you get very few skill upgrades until a certain point in the game, and using them wisely is crucial to not find yourself controlling a jack of all trades, master of none that takes way too long to kill bosses. Also, learning the perfect parry can make things so much easier it’s really worth it to do your best and master it.

Fuoco was a hard boss for me too, like most bosses until the game lets you upgrade your character and weapons a little more easily. Even if you can summon and exploit the boss’s weakness, you still have to maneuver well and learn to parry some attacks.

So I checked my inventory and found enough supplies to upgrade my weapon twice and enough ergo to lvl motivity up at least 10 lvls.

Went back and neat Kings Flame without a spectre. Knew I had him when his half was over half gone and I healed for the 1st time. The increased damage and knowledge of his moveset made my 30th attempt smooth.

Now on to the next challenge. I ask a mask wearer to use the lift and get attacked. The journey continues...

Wtf .... It's literally one of the earliest bosses, I don't think I ever died to him, there must be something seriously wrong with your build...

EDIT: I see you managed to beat him,gj you just have to persevere, learn their movesets and you'll be fine...also once you get the acydic crystal spear and go full advance build you'll have easier time. Acid is like damn kryptonite to even bosses.

Hell for me the worst enemy in the game is not even a boss... it's that stupid fucking mad clown shit always twirling around like an idiot and harder to stagger than damn bosses.

Throwables are pretty strong in this game. If you are really having trouble then grind and buy the throwables you have unlocked so far and try using them. When he creates fire zone then just hide behind a pillar.

This. You can spec Technique and load up at the vendor in chapter 5. There are bosses you can cheese easily with throwables alone and not having to attack once. It's wild.
