I'm just saying it's pretty clear she's clearly not totally straight in the context of this story. She asks another girl to kiss her and is clearly in love with another one.

But I don't really have any problem with the writing, playing the game is like watching a surprisingly engaging and entertaining high school drama TV show
I'm still going with my 'Rachel is a time-traveling alternative reality version of Max'-theory. Same size, showed up and disappeared again exactly during the time Max lived in Seattle, and her personality is like the polar opposite of Max - cool, super popular, outgoing, had lots of relationships with people in Arcadia Bay. Only problem is that she presumably looks a bit different
lol'ed hard at Max pointing out she tends to spill shit every time she tries to grab something and going directly for the chair in the lab section. Very clever, writers.
Really not sure about the Rachel-Kate cospitacy. I mean, Max seems really to push it, and the player is obvious aware there is some sort of cospiracy-connecting going on (because this is a videogame), but I'm not sure why she's so fixated on connecting Rachel and Kate.
When the part with William happened, I was expecting the game to make me choice between saving him or letting him go, altough I realize it's naive thinking, given the ammount of works it would require for something like that to work.

Its a chick flick but I cried when I was 16 and watched it at school. The Movie : Somewhere in time has this token plot as well.
That and she kept making those selfies makes sure she's always 'there'. Plus Chloe still has the butterfly polaroid. So if she goes there, she can let Chloe die or live and start all over again.

Same. I really agonized with the decision. This game makes you struggle with the big choices. Episode 2 especially I was always torn.
Pictures do not carry over. They never have. It didn't make sense when it happened before but now it does since they're obviously somehow connected to her power.

I think the picture of the blue butterfly that Max took right before you saved Chloe pretty much confirms that we will have to go back to that timeline once more and have Chloe possibly killed after all to undo all the butterfly effects that Max caused (hence the butterfly).
The problem is, that picture was shredded and I think Nathan might have it (he assaulted Max at the parking place because he found the picture). So we might have to retrieve it later. Or the concierge has it... He is super suspicious.
I'm also considering the possibility that the butterfly is connected to Chloe (similar to Max's spirit animal seems to be that deer, maybe Chloe's spirit animal is the butterfly... they're both blue!) and the butterfly was there for a reason - so that Max would take a picture and be able to travel back to that moment later --- to have Chloe killed after all!

Question about Max power and what I maybe missed in previous episodes and how she use them.
Max ability is to rewind time around her, she normally can't like rewind to be in another place for example and her power is limited to a cretin timeframe.
The scene with her and chole and how they enter the office Max used a nice trick. Max rewind time to enter then she opened it from the inside. But after that in the episode with David scene I got confused because It suposed to be the same trick but It's not. Like if she rewind time the keys should return back to David's pocket isn't that right?
Forward to Max scene in the her dorm room with the picture before she goes back to 13 years old Max. Again, If I understood the power right Max can rewind time so If what happened is that she rewind time back until that point, that means 18 years old Max will disappear from this time line (another missing student) and go back to 13 years old Max. So (crazy as it seem) two Max in the same timeline, that's also explain the homeless lady, she's Max in the same timeline.

Well, you're wrong about the last bit. Her mind just got sent back, there aren't two Max in the same area. Even if the homeless lady is someone from the game, it wouldn't be Max in this situation because by the time the normal timeline rolls around she'd only be like 6 years older, not a middle aged person.
I actually somehow missed both chances despite my efforts to inspect everything so I'm looking forward to seeing how Max will end up at the party

I was going to come up with another one. say that when Max travel back 18 Max still aged, 6 years back there's 13 years old Max and 24 years old Max. Then when she goes back to the normal timeline 18 years old Max and also 24 years old Max after 6 years = 30 years old Max. But still the homeless lady looks older than that. So even this theory is wrong.

Again, the preview showed Max back in her old clothes. It's safe to say we'll be returning to our timeline in the next episode. If I had to hazard a guess, we'll be hopping between the two for the rest of the season.
My theory:
Quite some things have changed in the alternative timeline, but OTHERS have not.
Perhaps Alterna-Max, as a member of Vortex Club and friends with Victoria etc. can find out something about Rachel Amber, possibly she hasn't even been missing in this timeline...?
Max can use those connections to do some research and gain insight from inside the Club, a level of access she would have never had in the original timeline.
Then she can return and use the new info to progress in the original timeline.
It all adds up

The first picture Max takes of herself is right at the beginning of Episode 1 in the classroom, before the butterfly. I'd image Max is going to have to go back there at some point.
Really liked this episode. Pretty monumental stuff.

I really want to know the connection between Rachel and Max. When Chloe's mother accidentally exclaimed Rachel it got my mind thinking (I know shes just wearing her clothes but I still feel there's something more. Could be red herring though).
Although you've got that, the Rachel mystery in general, the connection between David and Nathan, Nathan's character in general and his connection to Kate, the whole Kate and Vortex club stuff, the mystery behind Chloe's power AND the whole cyclone end of the world stuff (which may or may not be connected to the 'End of the world party') PLUS you have that weird dead bird stuff in Chloe's back garden.
Also, I really wanted to find that bag and the goggles for those guys in the pool area.

Haven't read the full thread, but holy fuck, as bad as Chloe can be sometimes, I hope that the ultimate solution isn't somehow along the lines of "Let Chloe die at the start in order to solve Arcadia Bay's problems."
Well Rachael's disappearance hadn't been solved at that point so I don't think that will be the ending to the series, unless Rachael is "in the dark room" the whole time and it ends with Max reverting to the beginning and running right out of the classroom then seeing some sort of evidence in there.

That's what I'm worried about, and one of the reasons I was bothered by the romantic tension between Chloe/Max this episode (at least for Chloe). A gay romance with a happy ending? Never fucking happens.
Maybe I spend too much time on TV tropes.

I kinda felt that too during the pool scene, but Chloe's body language if you choose to kiss her felt off to me and made me disregard any sort of romance with her as a possibility. Maybe I'm reading too much into the body language though.
It's essentially Mass Effect's system, players can try for Chloe if they want but there's always Warren if they choose.

That's what I thought too, but again, I "felt" kind of shutdown the way Chloe reacted to Max actually kissing her.
Although, it was kinda cute. Big, strong, brave Chloe being the one to back down after double daring Max.

I think the logic of the time travelling makes a lot of sense, really. It's not too complicated.
And also keep in mind that we don't know all the rules yet, Max may have more powers she has yet to discover.

Just finished the episode 3. Was totally not expecting that ending and this is my favorite episode so far. I hope we get blue haired Chloe back though.

While Chloe and Rachel may not have been in an explicit relationship, it is quite clear that Chloe had very strong feelings towards her, and is greatly disturbed by her disappearance. Mix this together with her newly returned childhood friend, who she has only met a few days ago, that she now has evolving and complicated feelings for and is uncertain if they are returned. She gave her Rachel's clothes to wear.
Chloe is the classic mix of bullheaded and deeply insecure. She reflexes away from the kiss because she knows Max doesn't take it seriously and because it flares up everything else that's going on in her head.
This is all my personal reading of course, from the various scenes we get of Chloe looking weird around Max when she's not paying attention.
I was shocked 6% of people chose that option. How could you hurt a dog?!
I will be both deeply impressed and deeply annoyed if they do not send us back to the original timeline, seeing as how Max remaining would completely invalidate all of our decisions and the mysteries up to this point.

I thought about this option earlier, and it opens up a lot of interesting gameplay options. The problem, though, is you don't really have a good way to know whether anything you learn in the alternate timeline also applies to the original timeline, or vice-versa. Max (and by extension the player) would be constantly uncertain about what was reliable or not. Even things like personality traits can change, so things like "hey it turns out Victoria will do whatever you want if you bond over anime figures" may not be true of the other Victoria. Pretty much the only things you CAN rely on are things that happened before the timeline forked, so basically anything before Max and Chloe were 13-ish.
