I don't think there's much open to fan interpretation. Chloe is at the very least bisexual.
She has condoms in her wallet so she isn't completely into girls.

I am quite enjoying the way it plays and obviously i'm invested enough to want to see what happens but my god the characters are infuriatingly stupid and irritating.
To the point where i'm not sure if its parody or not. Are young Americans actually like that?
I won't believe it.
Another great episode with some amazing moments and wonderful soundtrack. I'm really glad this game does have a good deal of chill moments to balance out some of the absolute insane shit that seems to happen. That ending too...I don't think I saw any of the last chapters coming at all. The wait is real.
My stats this time around:
I left the money
I kissed Chloe
I sided with Chloe - GOD DAMN did this feel so fucking good. Loved the bit with Chloe right after telling me not to rewind either. She knows me so well.
I didn't kill the dog.
I missed the bit about the gun, but Chloe still has it, so that works out.
I tried both options, David first, and I thought Max was so on point with her anti-David rant that I couldn't go back. Even Joyce was appalled, haha.
What I think is that this Max's new power has the following restriction: she needs a photo which she appears in and she can only affect things in the immident vicinity of the scene the photo shows. So maybe in the next episode you will go back to the selfie you took with Chloe on the bed and do something? Or maybe go back to some other photo and stop Chloe from getting disabled? I mean Max's belongings seem to ignore time and space so she still would have the photo with blue haired Chloe. Also seems an easy way to make Chloe believe that Max has the power in that new timeline as well.
Pictures do not carry over. They never have. It didn't make sense when it happened before but now it does since they're obviously somehow connected to her power.
Started theorizing about this game on the train ride home and I'm just going to do a crazy prediction for fun. The new photo rewind mechanic opens so many doors!
Spoilering in case people are sensitive about theories
I think the picture of the blue butterfly that Max took right before you saved Chloe pretty much confirms that we will have to go back to that timeline once more and have Chloe possibly killed after all to undo all the butterfly effects that Max caused (hence the butterfly).
The problem is, that picture was shredded and I think Nathan might have it (he assaulted Max at the parking place because he found the picture). So we might have to retrieve it later. Or the concierge has it... He is super suspicious.
I'm also considering the possibility that the butterfly is connected to Chloe (similar to Max's spirit animal seems to be that deer, maybe Chloe's spirit animal is the butterfly... they're both blue!) and the butterfly was there for a reason - so that Max would take a picture and be able to travel back to that moment later --- to have Chloe killed after all!
My head hurtsEpisode 4 can't come soon enough...
Where in the game a picture didn't carry over? Not really doubting you just drawing a blank here.

OH-- you're rightWasn't that a different picture that was torn in half? It was her contest entry. Chloe still has the other one.
Did anyone notice the weird swirly things around Chloe's house when you go back at the end?
I actually somehow missed both chances despite my efforts to inspect everything so I'm looking forward to seeing how Max will end up at the partyOne thing I really don;t like so far is that the devs have now given people two chances to get into the Vortex Club party, but in the end it doesn't matter. Even if you;re still not on the list by the end of the episode the preview for the next still shows Max at the party.

Well, you're wrong about the last bit. Her mind just got sent back, there aren't two Max in the same area. Even if the homeless lady is someone from the game, it wouldn't be Max in this situation because by the time the normal timeline rolls around she'd only be like 6 years older, not a middle aged person.
Kind of annoyed by the ending, don't think I like it as much as other people. Feels like they just threw everything out mid season and start again. Hopefully it isn't that much of a hard reset. Did feel very Butterfly Effect (and a bit of Sliders).

The first picture Max takes of herself is right at the beginning of Episode 1 in the classroom, before the butterfly. I'd image Max is going to have to go back there at some point.
Haven't read the full thread, but holy fuck, as bad as Chloe can be sometimes, I hope that the ultimate solution isn't somehow along the lines of "Let Chloe die at the start in order to solve Arcadia Bay's problems."

That's what I'm worried about, and one of the reasons I was bothered by the romantic tension between Chloe/Max this episode (at least for Chloe). A gay romance with a happy ending? Never fucking happens.
Maybe I spend too much time on TV tropes.
I kinda felt that too during the pool scene, but Chloe's body language if you choose to kiss her felt off to me and made me disregard any sort of romance with her as a possibility. Maybe I'm reading too much into the body language though.
It's essentially Mass Effect's system, players can try for Chloe if they want but there's always Warren if they choose.

What kind of sick fuck would throw the bone into the street!?!?!?

Here's a new theory on r/lifeisstrange
Basically, since Max has now changed her entire timeline, the original timeline continues on - but she has disappeared from it, just like Rachael Amber did.
That's what I said, similar to my theory.
I'm a little worried, to be honest. We're getting to Doctor Who levels of self-justification. The rules no longer seem clear. WIthout a narrative logic, the game could definitely just fold in on itself.
Yeah back in episode I already had a theory like this but I'm not so sure anymore. I spilled a lot of beans and left a lot of shot Chloes in the junkyard then. Here's a new theory on r/lifeisstrange

but if Max physically left Timeline A, then what happened with the Max of timeline B? are there now two Max running around or what? Here's a new theory on r/lifeisstrange

... I hope we get blue haired Chloe back though.
My theory:
Quite some things have changed in the alternative timeline, but OTHERS have not.
Perhaps Alterna-Max, as a member of Vortex Club and friends with Victoria etc. can find out something about Rachel Amber, possibly she hasn't even been missing in this timeline...?
Max can use those connections to do some research and gain insight from inside the Club, a level of access she would have never had in the original timeline.
Then she can return and use the new info to progress in the original timeline.
It all adds up![]()
