Limited Run Games - Putting digital games into your hands

If you guys see any games on this list that you'd be interested in seeing released in a physical form let me know!

I (Douglas) will be at PSX scouting new games and promoting LRG!

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015...perience-2015-the-big-list-of-playable-games/

Abzu
Alienation
Amplitude
Assault Android Cactus
Day of the Tentacle Remastered
Grim Fandango
Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star
Pavilion
The Tomorrow Children
What Remains of Edith Finch
Read Only Memories
Heart Forth Alicia
Wattam
SOMA
The Witness
The Banner Saga

Douglas is prepared with all of your requests (and our own desires) and will hopefully be getting some devs interested at PSX. Wish him luck! He's flying out to San Francisco tomorrow.

If any of you are going to PSX, try to track Douglas down and you could win a copy of Breach & Clear. He'll be posting pics of where he is on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

I want to extend my list, because I was at work and didn't get a good look at everybody in attendance.

I originally listed:

Vita, Vita, Vita, Vita, Vita:

-Day of the Tentacle (and, more importantly, Grim Fandango. Such a collector's game.)

-Salt and Sanctuary
-Severed (Guacamelee, too)

-Eitr
-Death's Gambit

For those last two, plug for Vita while you're at it. Lots of Vita fans already do on Twitter. Eitr sounds like a lock - the only thing prevent it is limited resources. Sounds like it will get a delayed release.

But I would also absolutely love and would buy:

-Va-11 Hall-A
-Read Only Memories
-YIIK
-Chromophore: Two Brothera
-Heart Forth, Alicia
-The Banner Saga

And even though he won't be there, Axiom Verge.

These are already day-one Vita games for me and I would throw down all of them.

Oh man, the thought just popped into my head that you guys would be able to bring Bastion and Transistor into disc format...

I stopped by Double Fine a lot, but couldn't get a hold of Tim or Greg. I gave my card to everyone in that booth. The only thing I think that may work is if everyone with Twitter tags us and Double Fine together.

I was told though that there could be a chance, but nothing concrete from the higher ups.

Also everyone should do the same thing with Klei. We would love to put out some version of Don't Starve or Invisible Inc.

;)

Thanks for the help and support so far! A lot of devs knew who we were because of NeoGaf and Twitter. So it definitely works!

Douglas had eagle vision in the dark keynote room. He totally saw me before I could even see him - it was nice to meet and chat with him at PSX.

Looking forward to more Limited Run releases. I know I mentioned that I'd probably buy 2 of any (J)RPG or tactics games you can get a hold of. I also saw Zodiac: Orcanon Odyssey & Ray Gigant at PSX was going to be digital only . . . for now?

:)

Basically, whenever I tell Vita enthusiasts that there is somebody out there willing to make physical copies of their favorite indies, they open their mouths and money falls out.

2016 is such a huge year for indies on Vita and file sizes are climbing too high for our jam-packed memory cards.

When I think about the Vita games I absolutely want on cartridges, I can make a big list. I try to be conservative and realistic and focus on the games I think it's most likely for you to work with. But in my own reality, there is no Vita game I'm already buying that I wouldn't prefer to have physical.

Double Fine's games would definitely be huge. But... So would most of the games I want.

I actually didn't realize you couldn't get a physical copy of a console version of Psychonauts 2 until you brought it up, and the PC physical copy is $100 no less!!

Finally got my copy! Had to call multiple times to my postal service and they finally found it! Picked it today.

Also I can't believe I didn't think of this game for a LRG release.

I second this.

Just saw the email about Saturday Morning RPG:

"Saturday Morning RPG is coming!

Happy Holidays! It's been a while since our first release - sorry for making you wait so long. We're happy to announce that everything for Saturday Morning RPG is set and ready to move forward in January. Unfortunately, we have to push the release date back two more weeks to January 29th, 2016. The good news is that we have a very good reason for this delay:

We'll be putting both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions up for sale at the same time.

We initially didn't think that this would be possible due to a variety of reasons so our plan was to release the PS4 version in January and the Vita version in February. We no longer feel the need to stagger the releases! We were so taken aback by the support Vita fans have shown us that we don't feel like it's fair to make you all wait.

The Vita version of the game will be limited to 2,500 copies worldwide. As with the PS4 version, there will be 100 copies available bundled with the physical soundtrack CD. The game will retail for $24.99. The soundtrack and game bundle will be $39.99.

Saturday Morning RPG will be available at the following times:

990 PlayStation 4 copies and 1,250 PlayStation Vita copies will be available at 10:00AM EST on January 29th, 2016.

Followed by

990 PlayStation 4 copies and 1,250 PlayStation Vita copies at 6:00PM EST on January 29th, 2016.

These will be limited to two of each per platform per order for the first 24 hours of sale. After that the two per order limit will be lifted.

In other news - we have restocked our T-Shirts in both black and neon blue. If you were waiting to order one, now is the time! We also have a limited number of zip hoodies in stock.

Thanks again for your support! We're looking forward to an amazing 2016!"

Is there a post where they've listed the companies they've talked to before? Curious if there's any chance of getting a physical vita release of Nightcry.

I thought SOMA and The Witness were confirmed for physical release. Now I'm kinda sad.

I appreciate the fact that they wanted to give each version its own style, but the Vita cover looks pretty bad compared to the other one.

I'm definitely in for a Vita copy.
Maybe they could do a reversible cover for the Vita with both box arts.

They said that making any changes now, including a reversible cover, would delay the certification process again because they would have to resubmit the entire package to Sony.

They said they'll keep reversible covers in mind for the future, but also that devs would opt for identical cover art anyway.

I think it's too bad so many people hate the Vita cover. I don't like either cover, but that's not why I buy physical copies.

I don't understand all the hate for the Vita cover. That was the original artwork for Saturday Morning RPG, so it holds a special place in our hearts. We may order separate covers one day and make them available for purchase later.

I'm glad everyone is excited for this game though!

I think it's because the ps4 art is that much better.
Either way though, I'm buying. I wouldn't do a print of just cover art though. They're each special in their own way.

It kind of looks like a webcomic panel or a flash game start screen. It might have been okay by itself, but compared to the PS4 cover it doesn't look good.

Yes, it will be 100 per platform. Also to clarify, it does not come in a special box. It is just the game and a soundtrack. We will be limiting this bundle to one per customer.

So only one bundle and other platform game separately to get all. Was intending on both bundles before this clarification came up.

Yes, only one bundle per customer. There is no real point in getting a bundle for each platform. It's not a CE or anything, it just comes with the soundtrack and we want as many people as possible to have a copy of the soundtrack.

So, I take it that the "bundle" is just two separate items? The game + sndtk are not packaged together?

Correct!

I will just quote what we had to say about this from another forum.

"For reference, the soundtrack was previously available in 2013 in an edition of 100 - it took over a month to sell out and 10% were bought by me to give to my employees (a separate record label has rights to the soundtrack, so Mighty Rabbit and LRG don't control the production). There's not a special box for the soundtrack/game bundle (they won't even be shrinkwrapped together), so there's nothing that really makes this a CE/SE of the game. My expectations have been wrong in the past, but I felt like 200 was a good number for these considering the past sales data of the CD.

We've never sold a soundtrack CD so this is definitely a test to see if demand exists. If it is successful and sells out significantly faster than the standalone game, we will definitely increase quantities on future soundtrack/game bundles. We're in the early days here so we're going to be doing a lot of testing the waters. We don't want to anger or turn people off while doing these, so we're deliberately trying to do them in a way that we hope won't upset people (hence, no special packaging for the game/soundtrack bundle and no direct referral to it as a collector's edition)."
