They didn't order 5, and they are only getting 2, don't worry!
Can't really guarantee it. They probably realize that steps are being taken to prevent it.

I'd expect the orders there are probably being made from 2+ people planning to split money from the sale, which would make ordering 4 indistinguishable from any other two 2 legit orders.

If you only bought 1 why do you care if they go back and limit to 1? I'm not throwing a hissy fit I just think they should limit the original run to 1 per if they are doing it for batch 2. Would give more people a copy since yeah I would like 1 copy of the ps4 version.
But they said people were allowed 2 copies. If someone got 2 copies, they were perfectly within their rights to do so. Sorry to you missed out on one, but shit...

Also, before you ask only 1 copy for myself.
I think LRG is doing everything within their power to make these purchases fair, while still remaining Limited. They realize that some of the demand comes from the fact that these releases are rare and try to strike a balance where they are in demand and ensure that as many people as possible are able to order them.

I think they are doing a good job. I was unable to get the soundtrack bundle but was able to grab the games.

Agreed 100%. It's a tricky line to balance and I think they are doing a wonderful job with it.

If they promised 2 per at the beginning they shouldnt go back on their word an limit later. That's a dick move.

It doesn't matter what people do with those 2 copies, that's not your business.

It's a dick move if someone bought an extra copy to scalp on ebay instead of just letting someone else get a copy.

It's my business if I wanted 1 copy of the PS4 version and end up having to go through ebay to get one at a super inflated price when I could have gotten it through them.

They underestimated demand. People miss out on limited things. That's life.
You don't know for what reason someone bought 2 copies, so you can't just take them away from everyone.

Also there's another batch going up.

And for the record: I bought 0 copies.

Jesus, this thread is going to be just like fancy poster gaf after every mondo drop, isn't it?
More vocal bitching. Should die down over time though.

Some people buy two copies. 1 to play and one to keep sealed.

Yeah I think they are doing a great job but guess you can't please everybody. Honestly if somebody made a LRG account in advance, added their address information to the account, logged into LRG and logged into PayPal a few minutes before 10am EST I don't see how they could have missed out. Just can't help but feel those that missed out on wave 1 were just not prepared enough since like I said before the checkout literally only takes a couple of seconds if you are ready in advance. And not like they have had issues with the site crashing from traffic or anything. Honestly this and Breach & Clear have been the some of the most painless limited run games I have ordered. Site has been buttery smooth and I have been in and out in the blink of eye with my Vita games. Plus the shipping to Canada cost is such a relief compared to the likes of NISA. So keep up the good work I say!

Yeah hopefully I can get one but still doesn't make it less of a jerk move to scalp a copy when you know people got screwed over by the shopping site.

Sorry I didn't expect the 15 seconds it took me to login to their website to make the ps4 copy sell out of my cart. Would still be nice if they limited everybody to 1 so more people could get a copy.

Hopefully most people that wanted a copy was able to get one just now, and the next batch won't be so crazy and everyone who missed out will be able to get one.

Cue Kotaku posting their next article: "You won't believe how fast this super limited game sold out and you can get a chance to buy one later today"....

:p

It was already decided beforehand that 2 was allowed, it would be a dick move for them to then cancel orders on people, it's just a case of them moving forward with the 1 per customer idea instead. How they should do it is limit the first batch to 1 per customer on all future releases and then gauge the demand and decide what they should do for the second batch.

No the site sold out of PS4 copies almost instantly but their inventory tracker was broken by the sheer amount of orders. I had a copy in my cart at exactly 10 and the ps4 copy sold out while I was signing in to pay for it.
Was thing for the Vita version, really don't plan on collecting any PS4 games, but have been trying to get Vita games. Thanks though.

hopefully second batch is easier. if it sells out as soon as it goes up, I give up. I don't wanna deal with this stress like I did with Mondo's crap.
Think I'll be taking this the same way. If I don't care and don't try so much less stress to deal with in my hobby.

I don't even disagree with that. But humanity will always be scum. Better to accept that now and save yourself the headache. Someone will always try to profit from others. I can guarantee you that there is a large nuber of people that would also buy only one copy and scalp it.

Yep. I wish they'd get it over with so I can stop feeling like I should import the UK one just in case, and end up overpaying+double dipping. I already inadvertently did that with Child of Light and it wasn't cool.
.

Haha same. UK version is at a reasonable price right now but I'd hate for it to disappear.

lol. No.
Just try again on the next batch.

The key for me as I have 2 step on paypal is to log into the site and get your 2 step logged in within 5 min as it resets after that. When I went to buy I had a browser page up for both the vita and PS4 version.... refreshed added each to cart.. then clicked paypal and it logged me in instantly without any 2 step and I was out the door in well under 45 seconds...

so super smooth for me but my word if you slack at all you are out of luck. And this is only going to get worse!!!

Congrats to LRG... this is awesome and I hope you continue with this great service!

I did exactly this.

I think for the future, 2 for the 1st batch is fine and the limit for the 2nd batch should be decided based on the demand of the 1st one.

Also how many copies do you think they should make for CSH?

5k each? 10k each?

I think the limit should probably be one. Do we really need to allow for people to do this? Play it or keep it on your shelf, you don't need to do both at the expense of someone else getting a copy.

The solution is just to increase the number of available copies, which they will do in the future. Having one to play and one to store away should be an option for collectors.

I may have missed the earlier discussion, but does it make sense for LRG to do "pre-order" window to get numbers down for how much to make beforehand?

It would help out with demand and still have it limited? It would certainly delay timing or the orders with people getting them though. Or maybe it's just a terrible idea . . .

It would help but they decided they didn't want to worry about presales. They wanted to have the copies in hand before they sold them. Also a lot of these sales are probably people speculating that they will make money from the rare nature which wouldn't exist with a preorder system.

Oh man, these website horror stories are getting me reeeeal nervous for CSH.

Just use some of the examples above. You need to be logged in and ready to order several minutes before the game is on sale and have instant login on you payment type. The extra few seconds I spent logging in with the items in my cart made them go out of stock.

Said everyone about everything that was limited edition.

What's a Mondo?
hell

If they want a copy to play they can buy it digitally.
The whole point of this is to get something physically.

There really isnt any horror stories. People just missed the window. Checkout was buttery smooth.

Some people buy two copies. 1 to play and one to keep sealed.

In today's digital world, would you really need a physical copy to play and another sealed physical copy to keep? Especially of a game that has been available digitally and for a cheaper price for a rather long time and that you could have played ages ago? It would easily be enough to get just one physical copy later on to display on your shelf.
I mean, 15 years ago, you would have largely had no choice if you want a sealed videogame collection (for whatever reason), but nowadays, that's not really the case. That's not to say that there might not be legitimate reasons to want 2 copies other than profiting off of them (even though I think 1 per person per platform would suffice).

Anyway, I don't really care either way, but that's probably down to the fact that so far, none of the games offered by LRG have been interesting enough to me to even try to get a copy. I imagine I might feel differently when there's something that I want. :p

You don't need physical copies at all actually!

website still showing 1 PS4 copy available :)

Yes, I realize it probably isn't.....

Gone again. Was funny to see the vita sold out and the PS4 not on the games list for a few minutes anyway. Are you freeing up copies over time, or will you release them with the next batch for any cancellations over the limit?

What's a Mondo?

A Samoan teenage mutant from the early 90's X-Men spin-off title "Generation X" who's power was being able to turn his body into whatever he eats:

There's also a live action version from the made for TV movie/cancelled series pilot:

Wait... that's not the Mondo they're talking about?

Oh yeah I'm definitely planning to. I've just never had any luck with these instant sellout purchases before.

It didn't sell out even close to 15 seconds short of maybe the soundtrack version which had less than 200 copies in the first batch so that was to be expected. So yes if you were going for the soundtrack version then even that time not being logged in to sites in advance could be enough to miss out on that even with a one copy limit. But if you were going after the normal version it still showed close to 50 after 5 minutes. Hell it was just showing 1 copy left just now even. So sorry I still can't comprehend how somebody ready for it to go live could miss out. Just makes no sense to me. Could have been a glitch or something I guess but why wouldn't that impact everybody?

Oh, I see.

And yes, Oddworld and CSH better double the amount of copies they were planning before this.

It might have "there's plenty" effects that minimize some of the self-compounding limited frenzy, but we always underestimate the demand every time so far. I'm gonna say at least 10k... not only will those games be selling just for rarity and scalping, but CSH is hotly anticipated and Oddworld is very well known.

If it makes you feel any better, I've had zero issues with both releases so far. I'm not doing any fancy bundles, registering for an account, starting late, or ordering multiple copies. But I haven't had any issues.

It can seem scarier since the people who do have problems are more likely to vocalize them (so they can ask for help or vent).
