At this rate you will be asking them to make a new listing with one copy that requires a password to buy and giving you that password =P

No. I have plenty of time at 6pm. But some people may have been planning around the earlier time and aren't available at 6pm. Hell that the whole reason they are doing the 6pm time as well. Sorry for trying to be a nice human being.

Seems strange to buy antique coins and not buy some drinks with them. Or antique stamps and not send postcards with those suckers.

Actually it doesn't.

Most antique coins have been used actually and many people collect used stamps but I understand the point you are trying to make. However a video game and a coin/stamp are nothing alike.

That's basically what he wants lol

It's ok I was trying to look out for people if you can believe that. Hell if I had ordered 2 copies I would cancel 1 to let someone else get one. Some people don't hoard games for profit.

Isn't it as follows?

#1 Breach & Clear (PSVita)
#2 Saturday Morning RPG (PS4)
#3 Saturday Morning RPG (PSVita)
#4 Cosmic Star Heroine (PS4)
#5 Cosmic Star Heroine (PSVita)
#6 Oddworld ... etc.

It's order of release, not announcement. Oddworld will most likely be #4 and there will be other games released between that and CSH.

Oh, God... Oddworld, Cosmic Star Heroine, and VA-11 HALL-A... This service is going to be the death of me.

I guess I really lucked out. I got the Vita version of SNRPG with soundtrack. I was on right at 10:00, added it to my cart, then futzed around with the checkout process for a minute or two. This is a really great thing LRG is doing. I love my Vita, and I much prefer physical copies. The process was super smooth.

The whole buying one to play, another to display thing is crap. You can get a digital copy cheaper to play, and buy a physical to display. With the Kickstarters I've participated in, like MUV-LUV and Bloodstained, I pledged to get a physical, plus digital, so I can redeem the digital and keep the physical sealed.

Disqualified orders will go up at 6 PM EST to give everyone a fair shot.

I also play digital games and keep my physical sealed, but only if I bought a digital version not knowing a physical was coming or it was on PlayStation Plus.

There is only like one factory that still makes PSP games and it's a long wait to get into queue. I also wouldn't want to hold up Vic at Gaijinworks.

What happen if i can't at 6 pm but i was supposed to be "ok" this morning ?

So it's not impossible ;-) What about after Summon Night 5 is released? As I say it would be amazing to get a physical copy - such beautiful box art and an incredible game. I'd pay a lot for that

Ordered my copy. Happy to support this. Will be waking up early again to make sure I snag a copy of Cosmic Star Heroine. (One of my most anticipated games of 2016!)

I ordered a copy of the Vita version, but then placed a separate order for the PS4 version. If I had ordered them both together, would I have had to pay shipping twice?

If not, do you think they would combine the two orders for me?

No shoot them an email and they will combine the orders.

Deciding a time gives everyone a chance to prepare.

The batch going up later probably won't sell out as fast, since the bulk of orders probably came the first. That's my guess anyway, I don't have data to back that up. Point is, there might be some hope.

It will sale out just as fast. They aren't freeing up very many copies because they are letting the scalpers who bought 2 still keep both.

all good things
I feel like all the promotion they've been getting is kind of a bad thing and its been just going to increase the number of scalpers.

Publicity is usually great but when your first game sold out on basically your own word of mouth in an hour, to now have a bunch of websites doing articles about your company but not increasing the number of units to match the increased demand is only going to create headaches.

If you don't play them, why buy them?!

A lot of reasons. Here are some:

1) I like collecting things so having a physical copy to display on my shelf is nice.
2) In case PSN is ever shut down completely and I can't download it anymore I may need to open it to play.
3) If I like the game (or know I will like the game or like the developer) which is the case with Cosmic Star Heroine, I'd like to have an excuse to buy 2 copies (1 physical, 1 digital) to further support that developer.
4) The item is low print and having something rare is cool.

EDIT: Didn't even know both Vita and PS4 versions would be announced so maybe in this case I'll need to buy 4 copies (1 physical and 1 digital of each PS4 and PSV version). Hope you don't mind Mr. Boyd!

The number of units was decided by the makers of the game not by Limited Run Games.
And it's 1980 copies because the game draws inspiration from the 1980s.

Hopefully over time demonstration of high demand will allow for larger runs.

It's a tough thing to get right though. If these things aren't hard to get, that probably diminishes their appeal to a lot of people. So it's about (imo) striking a balance between availability and limiting it enough to maintain excitement about the product line.

SMRPG also did have a larger run than B&C. IIrc that one was 1000 or 1500? Then this one is like 1980 (Is that across both systems or just one?)

Ironically we are the makers of the game, the other deciding factor was our bank account. Future runs will definitely be higher print runs unless a developer does not want to budge on that.

I am reading this, but also trying to answer tons of emails. So don't worry, if I see something that NEEDS to be addressed I will be here!

How do you know they are scalpers?

You're wasting your time. Apparently anyone that kept them from getting a copy is a scalper. Plenty of valid reasons have already been offered and ignored. In no way is a limit of 2 items excessive or hoarding. It sucks that things sell out. I wish they could have gotten one, but it happens and they have another chance. I thought things went pretty well, but would also like to see more stock in the future.

the argument about scalping and collecting is kinda dragging. let's just wait and see how the second batch does. hope LRG clamping down on abusers lessened the quick sell out.

The ebay scalper with 6 copies got all but 1 order cancelled. So they let the scalper keep 2 copies. There are several scalpers on ebay selling 2 copies.

Yeah, I had forgotten Breach and Clear was 1500. I wasn't sure if the plan was over to go higher or not.

At the end of the day the only rule they broke was the 2 quantity order limit. They cannot dictate what people do with their copies. They got them fair and square. Yes it is shitty that they are scalping but what else is new?

They want, not need. With that logic, anyone who wants to buy one to play should just buy it digitally instead.

I don't follow that logic. People want a physical copy because one day servers go away, etc.. and digital goods go poof. Also, people need the good feels they get from physical ownership, etc.. I get that and agree.

So how does that preclude people from owning a physical and playing a digital? How are all of the objectives, save for compulsive tendencies to horde sealed things not satisfied there?

Of course none of this matters for this release, but they need to limit all future releases to 1 per person. It's just maddening to be trying to buy something the moment it releases only to be met with "out of stock" messages immediately. Meanwhile a ton of people got duplicates.

I thought it was made abundantly clear by Breach and Clear that the limit must be 1 copy per address right st the start. But I guess some degree of frenzy works in favour of the business.

My Point about a second run tailored on the request of the first one, with variante cover, no numbers and higher price still stands.

Pretty happy about choosing not to buy this. Game doesnt seem interesting in the slightest, and Vita cover is EWWW. Will buy Oddworld and Cosmic Star Heroine, though.

Capitalism makes you upset, I get it. If they limited it to 1 and you didn't get one, would you still be upset? Of course you would be. The issue isn't the allowed quantity, which at 2 is reasonable. The issue is, you didn't get one. Everyone can relate to that, it sucks. I wish you luck in a few hours. I hope you get one.

I got 2 vita copies and it doesn't make me a scalper. I collect vita games and often buy 2. One to keep sealed for my collection and one to play. You don't have to understand, but you might want to learn to accept that not everyone in the world conforms to your ideals, opinions or beliefs.

Each person ordering a copy should have to write a 3-paragraph, 1000 character minimum, letter with their purchase explaining, in detail, what they plan to do with their purchases including pictures of any display cases, if displaying is the intention. Must also provide proof, receipts and pictures, that purchaser is in possession of console for the format they intend on purchasing.

Purchaser must then send follow-up pictures/narrative no less than 2-months after purchase to verify they indeed followed through on original 3-paragraph, 1000 character minimum, letter.

It's only fair to those too slow to get a copy themselves.

I still suspect that their website sucks.

I was one who was waiting for the item to go live, immediately added the PS4 version to my cart and hit checkout.. It said out of stock and removed it from my cart. Even after trying a couple times, regular version, combo with CD, etc it was still just 2 minutes after. The Vita version never did this for me and it was 3 minutes after when that order was completed and paid.

DING-FREAKING-DING! The people trying to shit on collectors because they didn't get a copy are hilarious.

We get it, you wanted one. You still have another chance though!

Sure, i got the normal version witch is totally fine for me. What upset me a little it was on my cart with the CD soundtrack, then i tried to checkout it and it said it was already sold out, weird way to arrange transaction, but at the same i think most of seller site work like that...

Got a email answer to try it at 6Pm for the he CD soundtrack bundle... forget that this not a good solution for me i got a family i can't stay in front of my keyboard and press F5 until it unlock at first minute... This is ridiculous i can understand the limited value, but have to fight like that is not fun at all.

Maybe you should stop talking down to people who put the items in the cart at 10am and found them sold out a few seconds later when they logged in to pay for them. The site was borked and not tracking inventory properly.

I can't imagine many would debate you on it not being fun. I don't like the stress and anxiety either. Paid in full pre-orders are still the best solution. LRG needs to take some tips from Victor Ireland. That is how you serve a niche audience. Maybe someday they'll come to that conclusion, but if not, I suspect this will be a recurring theme.

They aren't going to they make more money off of people buying multiple copies to sale on ebay later. They don't want to tone that down by letting people preorder because that will take away the limited appeal.

Victor sells more than 2500 copies of psp games at twice the price. So please, tell me how they aren't making money? They would still sell 2 copies to many collectors as well. If only scalpers were buying these, there would be far more listed on ebay. If you cut off pre sales at a designated time, you also maintain a limited number with resale potential. Gaijinworks games still resale over retail, so you still appeal to that market.

Maybe you should stop acting like you were entitled to a copy? People bought them planning to scalp, it's going to happen. They can only do so much to curb that. Can't go back in time and set on aside for you.

Lot of people were on the site buying, issues are expected. Can't blame them too much for the site going screwy when loads of people were flooding the site. They are still new to this..

Dude I am just telling you what they said when people suggested they just sell preorders. They don't want to ruin the limited nature of the business and they only want to sell stock when they have it on hand. I agree that they would make just as much money doing preorders and would have a lot more happy people.

Oh so now it's not should have been on time now? Maybe they should have fixed the websites mistake instead of just saying good luck at 6pm? They could go back and limit orders they just choose not to.

Stay in front of your keyboard?
There is a scheduled time when they "unlock".
Plan to be on your phone or computer at that moment

I didn't even think about the game this morning until 1 minute before when I grabbed my phone, logged in, checked out, and stepped out the door a minute later.

I'm not even trying to order a copy of SMRPG, it's too expensive with the exchange rate right now, and I still think the limit should be one. You having one physical copy to open and one physical copy to touch the cartridge isn't worth someone else not getting one.
