Can someone please answer that little question I asked one or two pages ago, for my peace of mind ? Thanks in advance =)

The second-hand Oddworld I bought arrived as well. Can someone confirm me there's no manual into the box ? I have one or two small leaflets and I'd like to be sure nothing is missing.

They talked about 3 games for sure and there's likely going to be a 4th one.

Any idea how many of them are PS4+Vita or standalone releases? There are already so many Vita games coming in September, probably need to prioritize some of them. Any LRG Vita game is still 1st priority for me.

Dragon Fantasy and Mystery Chronicle are both PS4 + Vita. I don't think anything else is confirmed

I only have the PS4 version, but if you remind me I'll try to check it when I get home. I imagine if one system or the other has a manual, then both will. Edit: Nvm, looks like you're covered. =)

I wish there was a good resource out there to find out if newer games had manuals. Or better yet, a nice comprehensive reference for variants in general.

If you have the small pamphlet with the copyright and health warnings, you're set with a complete copy of the game on PS4!

Thank you both ! I have indeed a small postcard + a double-page leaflet, so I guess it was really CIB.There's even a sticker. I can safely rate the seller 5 stars now :D

What is normally their shipping time again? I mean when they finish sending them out. I know it can vary greatly on when you receive it, depending on where you live.

They normally get them all out by the end of the following week (end of this week for this batch), correct?

For the US yes, internationally no.

I'm not sure in general, but I can share the timetable from my last purchase, and maybe that can be the start of piecing together a broader picture?

I live in the US.
Ordered Soldner and B&C:D on July 29.
Got a shipping confirmation on August 06.
Received the games on August 08.

Seconding these.

Since HLD already has stuff up on iam8bit, I would assume they'll snag that one though. (I am fine with that as long as it's not $40 again)

The Steamworld games are already getting a physical release on PS4 from Rising Star Games in Europe, and they're not opposed to releasing physical Vita games. (Lumo)
If the collection and Lumo do okay I could see it happening for Vita as well.

Steamworld was also already working with Rising Star on a Wii U release of Heist, so I'd think RSG would get other releases if the dev decides to pursue that.

I second all of these games too, except for Steamworlds who'll be released as part of the Nintendo eShop Select Line. But I don't remember whether it's been confirmed for the US or not, if not I'd understand you ask for it ^^

Steamworld Dig is a perfect pick up and play game, Vita is really the platform that I'd want it on.

But for pure preservation purposes, yeah that's taken care of.

Ah I somehow thought that package was for the WiiU only. Gotta grab that one also.

Ah, forgot a big one for me...

Yeah the PS4 one kind of just stealthily popped up, but it's on amazon UK and US at least

Where are you getting those boxarts from? I'd love to post a few but they wouldn't look nearly as cool.

EDIT found one at least

With Playism on board now it's only a matter of time

The one I will never cease wanting <3

EDIT : totally missed that Steamworld PS4 collection ! I guess the Wii U one kinda loses some of its appeal, with its region lock. Unless the touch screen sees some use ?

YES. I need physical PS4/Vita copies of VVVVVV. The box art on that PC version is rad as fuck. I wonder how hard it is to track down a copy.

Thanks! Gonna put a preorder in right away.
I'm no stranger to double dipping on games I love, but this is getting crazy. ;)
3DS/Wii U/PS4/Vita and now physical as well. Oh well.

edit

I just made these myself a couple of minutes ago.
You never know. If they get shared around and enough people talk about these, they might become reality. ;)

Oh man, I want them both on PS4+Vita. Gonna be a tough month on my wallet combined with all the Vita retail releases.

Edit: By the way, any word on Volume? It was announced quite a while ago and didn't they even mention that it was submitted to QA? Kind of feel that it's long overdue unless they want to wait for the PS4 VR release.

Ok, that’s sounds about right when I ordered Soldner. I couldn’t remember when it was sent out, but that sound right on how long it took until it got to me.

I remember with my first LRG game (which was Oddworld), it took a LOT longer. Like weeks. But I think it’s because they were still ironing out their shipping, and of course weren’t using the fulfillment center yet.

If Spelunky got a boxed release I would buy 100 copies.*

I think the thing is a "shit game" is very much a matter of opinion, unless it is just universally agreed by pretty much everyone.

I don't think that's necessarily true. Rainbow Moon is objectively bad as a game in a few areas, in that the AI is very, very poor (exploitably so), the script reads badly, and the game is designed around microtransactions.

They claim it's to make you grind but if that's the case they shouldn't have offered microtransactions to get around it. I mean, either they think the grind is fun or they don't, it can't be both. And if they wanted to give people an option not to grind they should have just called it "easy" rather than force people to pay for it, it's just a bit gross.

Maybe I'm in the minority, maybe I'm not. The game has a number of positives for sure and maybe for some people they can outweigh the negatives but I think, overall, as a game, it's definitely not good, and it'd be very difficult to argue otherwise from a gameplay perspective.

(*well, at least one.)

Soldner has still not moved. I'm guessing the tracking wont update until it shows up at my door?

I wasn't even able to track my package until DHL informed me that it would "arrive today" via email, at which point I was able to trace it back to a few hours earlier, when my package arrived in Germany. Nothing beyond that.

I'd just wait for the package to arrive and hope for the best, honestly.

That's the way one of my other ones was. Never got a shipping notice at all, until the day it arrived. And I actually ended up finding the games before seeing the email that they were on the way.

Just wanted to drop a line to say that I really appreciate that a physical copy of Shadow Complex was made available. It's one of my favorite games of the past several years so I jumped at a chance to pick up a physical version of it. Thanks guys!

Agreed! Looks like a game I'd love to play.

And listen to ! The OST is one of the best out there :3

I agree with your distinction. RM may be overall a relatively mediocre-to-bad game (haven't tested it yet), but there are things to love and people who love them.
THIS is a sh** game with nobody to defend it :
I'll just leave this here.

Meanwhile, I applaud that we have come to the phase where not only the publisher choices, but also the games involved have become impervious to critic, with the added bonus of games not published by yours truly becoming crap after being legitimate gems for 2 hw generations. LOL. Cant wait for this approach to seep into the rest of GAF and the whole site to shutdown because we cant criticize dev x choice or say game y is crap anymore.

Who on Earth called Rez crap? I've read through the whole thread, literally no one did that. We were working hard to secure that game and are pretty much the reason a disc based version exists (even if we aren't publishing it) - we taught Enhance how to make a PS4 disc image and convinced them that it was easy enough where it wouldn't disrupt their dev cycle. If we thought it was crap, we wouldn't have bothered. I love Rez and own every physical version of it (DC, PS2, 360) - anyone calling it crap is insane.

We already announced that one! Waiting for Rami to finish patching the digital release before moving forward with a physical release.

Damn, I missed that announcement. I already have an Indiebox of this one but I'll probably purchase it from you as well.

To be honest I never played Rez and I one point I said I thought it had polarized reviews, but I was wrong, they are overwhelmingly positive.
So he may be refering to me (?)
(weirdly, jeuxvideo.com and gamekult.com, two big French websites, had given it a 7/20 and a 4/10 but they in fact were the outliers. Should have checked further)

So you don’t believe that someone saying it’s a “shit” game, or even it’s a great game, is a matter of opinion?

I don’t have an issue with your misgivings about the game, everyone is entitled to their viewpoint. The problem I have is how you come across as “since it seems so obvious to me this is what kind of game this is, then this must be true.” Maybe I am misreading your post, and if I am, I apologize. But that you came to say “I don’t think that’s necessarily true” when I said “a game is “shit” is a matter of opinion”, makes me believe what you are trying to say you feel is fact, or at most should believe that’s the case.

The way you view it (as I read it) is you feel they made the game more difficult and needing to grind more so they can implement their micro-transactions. From my experience in reading their posts on their official blogs and their forums, they had a target in mind on their difficult(ies) for the game, but also realized that it isn’t for everyone, so gave the option to purchase the micro-transactions if there are those who want it easier or less grinding. They designed the game to play it with their difficulty in mind, but they also wanted to give the option to those who don’t like the challenge and make it easier for them. If it was only designed around using the micro-transactions, then you couldn’t realistically complete the game. I have played, and completed, the game just fine without buying any DLC.

You say “they think the grind is fun, or they don’t, it can’t be both”. Why is that? You don’t enjoy grinding, others don’t enjoy grinding. However, some do enjoy doing the extra fighting for more pearls, experience, coins or raising skill levels. What it comes down to is do you enjoy the combat system. If you don’t, then you are probably not going to enjoy doing any extra than you need to.

But if you find it addicting (like myself), then ‘grinding’ (if you need to do so) won’t be a problem for you, and you will actually enjoy it.

As for your first points, yes, there were times the AI was exploitable, but I found it no more exploitable than most SRPGs I’ve played, including Final Fantasy Tactics. In regards to the script, they made it clear from the beginning that the game was not story-focused at all. They admitted it is a very basic storyline and their focus was on the gameplay. I’m not saying I didn’t have issues with the game, but the problems you’ve brought up are easily explainable or wasn’t hid by any means.

Finally, let’s keep in mind that this was their first RPG. You are going to have growing pains when starting out. At least from my perspective, I think they made a very fun game, especially for their first try.

I am guessing you haven’t followed anything for Rainbow Skies (the next game in the franchise), but it looks like they’ve already made improvements on several of the issues people have brought up. There will be no micro-transactions this time around. They said there may be DLC, but if there is, it will be content only.

They actually hired a storywriter this time, so the story will be more involved, as for the dialogue interaction in general. They also indicated there will be more difficulty options for Rainbow Skies, so maybe there will be one for yourself. All I asked them is if they have a difficulty that is equivalent to ‘Hard’ from Rainbow Moon, and it sounds like something will be there at that level, also.

I’m sorry you didn’t like Rainbow Moon, but at least give Rainbow Skies a chance. They did say recently on their blog that the game will be cross-buy (digitally). So if you buy it for one, you will get it for all three. It will be released on the PS3, PS4 and Vita.

here it is

Biggest combined run so far

I don't know how anyone can call this artificially limited or a lottery at this point.

Nice cover.
I can see myself playing it on either platform. Will be hard to choose between PS4 and Vita (won't buy two of them).

Either way, there are plenty of copies to make everyone happy :D

I hadn't heard of this game before today. I went and watched a couple of quick trailers and I have to say, I think this looks like my kind of jam. I really like some of the portrait art, and the idea seems unique enough, so I think I'm going to pick this one up.

Interesting choice, LRG crew!

I actually hadn't heard about One way Heroics until just yesterday, so had to look it up.

Eh, not sure it's something for me. Not real big fan of rogue-like games. I really hate having to start over in games, especially when earning something was hard fought. And not sure I like what I am hearing about the constantly force-scrolling screen, as well.

Haven't made my final decision yet, but I think I will most likely pass on this one. I have enough games to play, anyways. :)
