Even if some of them are planned, the list has no Silent Hill 2, FF16, Elden Ring... where tf are their priorities?
From Software couldn't release an optimized, fully-realized game if they tried. The gameplay is there, but some Guerrila Games-level shit? You better dimension hop to Earth-2 for that shit.
Edit - Danny Dudekisser..........
Nice name.

Not that it should even matter in response to his post, but...

GAME (before Pro Patch)

Outside of a heavier use of DoF in the reveal, it looks pretty damn similar to me.
The biggest difference is that the released game lacks lots of atmosphere and particles. I mean, it has, but the reveal trailer was dense and the moment-to-moment gameplay of the released version is pretty flat overall. I honestly think the game looks too saturated, oversharpen and ugly imo, but I know I'm in the minority.

That ants game is fucking hilarious. They couldn't achieve 60fps when fucking 6600XT (bit weaker than PS5) can do 1080p 60:

They could. Read the article. The reason is there in the article, and i kinda agree with them. The image quality and graphics fidelity on the base consoles look extremely good.

Fuck what they think, most games this gen have performance toggle and 75% of players choose performance. 95+% of console players will have to play this at locked 30fps.

In other words, very minor differences, which happens thanks to Game Development.

XSS:972p/30fps , PS5 & XSX:1400-1600p/30fps , PS5 Pro:1440p/60fps to PSSR 4K
The interview also asks in detail about the difficulty of developing the PS5 and XSX (UE5.4 : CPU, GPU and SSD).
https://gamingbolt.com/empire-of-the-ants-interview-environments-visuals-difficulty-and-more
Thats more than 100% upgrade assuming the Pro looks higher IQ than base PS5 thanks to PSSR Quality level upscale.

Also just for fun, trying to infer PS5 Pro possible modes for BO6 and DATV based on TechPowerUp benchs for the 7700XT:
BO6 could do Extreme settings at 4K PSSR Quality+ 60FPS or a Mix of Ultra/Balanced settings at 4K PSSR Balanced 120 FPS.
DATV could do Ultra settings + Full RT at 4K PSSR Quality 30 FPS. 60 FPS looks like they would need to drop raster settings by a lot and upscale from 1080 or slightly lower.

Too bad that Elden Ring isn’t getting a patch. Would be nice to have a way to play this in 60fps natively on a current-gen console. Right now I’m relegated to Resolution mode so at least it looks nice.
How do you know it isn’t getting a patch? Just because it hasn’t been announced yet doesn’t mean it won’t. There isn’t some deeadline where previously released games have to announce patches before release of the PRO.

Do we know which games run at 1440p 60/120fps and native 4k 60fps on the PS5 pro yet?

Also are most enhanced games gonna be free updates? Cuz I think I read somewhere that some titles would cost $10.

The only upgrade that cost ten bucks is the Horozn Zero Dawn update if you have the old ps4 version…

Yes. Square, Ubisoft, and EA published games require a $5-10 upgrade fee to receive the patch.

This is the perfect reaction gif. I'm just ready for Thursday to come and go, because you know that when something's out and the anticipation has died down, shit will go back to normal. Speaking of which, and this is from a non-partisan standpoint... I am ready for the election to be over and done with as well. It's a big week.

They can't require pay even if the wanted, pro games are PS5 native apps already - there is no separate sku, they can only apply free patches. PS4 and PS5 games were separate apps that's why (some) publishers charged for updates.

Having older games enhanced for the Pro is nice and everything but really exciting will be new games coming out for the PS5 Pro.

I bet they had more gaas coming around the pro which got cancelled. It's weird to drop and new console without a new shiny game tho.

They didn’t drop a new game when they released the PS4 Pro either. The Last Guardian was released in December and never received a Pro patch. So not everything is a conspiracy man.

Last guardian was better on PS4 pro on day one.

Easy there.

So, Fromsoft has had dev kits for months. Same as everyone else, they may have even gotten them earlier than some third parties given how they’re like the now one of the world’s foremost developers. But they don’t have a great track record of making Pro console patches of previously released games though, do they? Judging by history and the fact they didn’t make it a priority to have the patch ready for the launch date months in the making… we can easily infer from that it was not a priority for them. Not a big leap to make, in the slightest.

It still didn't get a PS4 Pro patch though. It used the boost in display resolution to resolve some of the issues with image quality but it ran sub 30fps for a good portion of the game. To even get that option you have to change the system settings display resolution to achieve it. It wasn't until the PS5 it became a locked 30fps with the resolution going to a native 4K. The same thing could , should, and is going to happen to certain unpatched PS5 games too due to unlocked frame rate and DRS. The game also didn't launch with the system either so my point still stands.

I can confirm this it was high res and hdr was added ...gorgeous game on ps4 pro albeit at 30 fps.

Can't believe neither this, shadow of colossus, or gravity rush was updated for ps5

This is the big issue with the ps5 pro that I see. When Sony can't even be bothered to update their exclusives. First with ps4 pro there were several highly regarded fan favorites that weren't patched. Then with ps5 those same games didn't get patched (shadow of Collossus, last guardian, drive club, the order, and gravity rush 2). Now with the PS5 Pro Sony hasn't updated Returnal, AstroBot, Uncharted 4 Remaster, Death Stranding, ghost of tsushima, Sackboy yet which makes me think they'll never be since these are Sony games and Sony had all the time in the world to decide which games would get patched for Ps5 Pro. We can take it a step further and look at times exclusives like Silent Hill 2 and Forsaken...there are others too like ghostwire tokyo and deathloop which are obviously not getting patches now that devs have moved on. I just think it's a bad look for Sony not to stand behind their own exclusives on their new $800 console but hey that's just me...

Dame, stellar blade look really good in pro max mode though. It looks like 4k 4k. A Lot more crisp than the ps5 performance mode. The frame rate look look smooth too.

What is the difference between pro and pro max mode?

Foud this in another thread.

Stellar Blade Patch 1.008:

• Added support for PlayStation 5 Pro.
• Introduced High Frame Rate (HFR) Mode to minimise input lag and enhance frame rate performance.
-HFR Mode requirements:
• Display must support 120 Hz output.
• Enable 120 Hz Output in PlayStation 5 settings (Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output).-Available graphics modes:
• Prioritise Performance: Focuses on frame rate.
• Balanced: Balances resolution and frame rate.
• Prioritise Resolution: Focuses on resolution and quality.
• Pro: Enhanced Balanced Mode optimised for PlayStation 5 Pro, utilising PSSR for superior quality.
• Pro Max: Enhanced Prioritise Resolution Mode for PlayStation 5 Pro, providing a higher frame rate.Minor bug fixes.

So pro Max prioritize frame rate? No wonder I seen a couple of people on reddit state one of their stand out game is stellar blade.

So you can do VRR unlock with pro max mode and get average around 80 fps according to a person on reddit. Wow.

Edit: I will link the video later. This Brazilian guy talk too much.

Yeah based on the current modes & what they do, that doesn't make sense.
A Pro Balanced Mode would be redundant
