People who, when correcting others, start their reply with 'Actually, '. Fuck off ya smarmy prick!
God damn you.BatmanBatmanBatman said:and this too.

how can you expected to be taken seriously if most of your sentences contain one of thge above.
originally all the simple people in german language boards used XD after 90% of their random sentences that are not even funny.
but recently i noticed "xD" used more and more on gaf and it is driving me insane.
xD is an indicator on my facebook if I can take this person seriously or not, as it happens to be that only dumb people use it.
so gaf. stop using XD and ^^
(and everytime i ask someone to stop using it, a billion "trolls" post it afterwards)

JoJoShabadoo said:Defensive people. Like in a tv show thread, someone says "That episode sucked" and instead of that post being a fart in the wind, the next 10 consecutive posts say "you don't know what you're talking about troll"
Did that once - mostly just wanted the guy and the thread to know why I wouldn't be responding to any future posts he made.Serenade said:when that chickdigger guy makes 100s of threads a day.

dudeworld said:Threads about tv shows and everyone in the thread watches the new episodes together and when something funny or unexpected happens, the next 10 posts are like "LOL" "haha wow!" "Holy shit"
Its so lame
lol, this, so much. The funny thing is that when people try this persona out, but lack a certain degree of subtelty, they get singled-out and mocked by the posters who have the persona down pat. It's like the whole "hipster mocks hipster for being hipster" phenomenon, but for dorks.DOO13ER said:I don't really have a ton of forum experience beyond NeoGAF so I'll probably be a bit presumptuous in my assertions about the forum world, but if GAF is any indication I really don't like the level of snark that drips from just about any discussion one can have on here. It's like everyone's trying to be that cool cynical guy that has it all figured out, thinks outside the box or is just a cut above everyone else in intelligence. However, instead of adding anything constructive to the conversation, they'd rather just talk shit and smart off in ways they would probably never dare to in real life.
tl;dr: The Internet Asshole Theory.

I think this is annoying on a case-by-case basis. Some people quote and slam posts for a few typos like they're a big fucking deal. I am absolutely cool with giving someone shit for a giant wall of text with no capitalization or punctuation and tons of text speak.Murkas said:People who quote a poster just to insult them over a spelling/grammar mistake and add nothing else to the post. Fuck you, there are people on this forum (and others) who have English as their second or even third language so it's understandable if there are a few mistakes. How many languages can you speak as you are insulting someone just because of a spelling/grammar mistake? Bet it's just the one.
In addition, people who view that perceived emotional state as some sort of victory on their part. As in, "Oh, it's okay to be angry that you're wrong". Perhaps we're angry because you're wrong, and can't concieve it?WanderingWind said:People who view plainly-worded opinions as an indication of emotional state. "Oh, you're angry." No, I'm just speaking assertively.
People who want to act like this isn't a discussion board, but their place to drop unchallengeable opinions, unassailable by the common forum dweller.

Not really. Alot of people spew their best rhetoric when they're angry.cutmeamango said:Anger is defeat.
I'm not comparing Izaya to an internet elitist, if that's what you're implying. I'm saying he's an archetype or ideal that internet elitists strive for. Those who watch Durarara, anyway.Momo said:Izaya is my role model, but I feel you are totally missing what his character is about.
That actually does bother me b/c it makes it more of a pain in the ass to find posts if you ant to reply or keep in mind who said what.DeathNote said:people without avatars.
not really, but i wanted to take a hit at the OP
GAF seems to almost seep at it's pores with memes and just about everything on your list, hell it's like the petri dish for all that.EviLore said:Memes. Just memes, really.
