I didn't realise this thread was here when I posted in the other LBP2 thread so here's my level that I posted there:

It's a short platforming level involving sackbots and a crane you can drive, but it took me ages to make (I got the 24 hours of create trophy while building this level and this is the only thing I've done in create aside from the tutorials) so I'd be really grateful to anyone who plays and/or reviews it.

Finally got some free time to finish the re-make of my first level. Decided to make it into a prequel to Sackboy versus the Cardboard Creator and tie the story directly into that. I'll be re-working that some time soon too. But I'll most likely be moving on to some other project before I return to the world of cardboard.

Larry by Design: Faux City

This will be a trilogy of some sort. Still working on a boss for level 3. SvtCC is supposed to be Episode 2. This is me trying to make the most of the grabblehook in platforming puzzles.

Howdy, just got approved and thought I'd share one of my creations.
Spent the weekend building this shooter. It's built to support x4 multiplayer but I've only been able to test 2 players so far.

I'm wondering why that 8 bit bird level isn't better rated than the Mario/Zelda/DK ones.

At no point does it glitch or break, and it's original.

Weird.

Doh! (added it now)

Very nice level. Probably the best stick-shooter I've played in LBP2. I'll give it another go tomorrow when I'm not this tired. :)

Thanks for trying it, I've just removed a few enemies from the final wave because the sound was stuttering (too much going on I think).

I just took 1st place on your level. It's short but I like it, you gotta love that grappling hook :)

I played it earlier and was gonna mention the sound stuttering. Had lots of fun with the level, I wouldn't mind if there were more waves though. I'll have to play it again because I wasn't really sure on whether I just ran out of lives or waves.

Jungle Adventure
http://lbp.me/v/xffs2v

I published this a few weeks ago, but it's momentum seems to have died and I'd really like some feedback on it. I made some levels in LBP1 before, but nothing near to this really.

It's pretty short, but I'd like to hear what people think about it.

In general it was enjoyable, but you are right that it was short. I had some major frame rate issues in the first area with all the waterfalls to the point that it was hard to get through so you may want to trim down the effects in that area. I liked the idea of using the creatinator to shoot out flares to make your way through the cave area, I think your level could use more things like that. It's enjoyable to play platforming levels but if you want people to choose yours over all the other choices you either need to make yours the best most clean platforming there is or have a number of cool little ideas that haven't been overdone.

Well, here is a selection of great LBP2 levels I stumbled upon during this week. I hope you enjoy them.

Sacknight 1: Fetch Quest of the King
By: Hoplyte
http://lbp.me/v/xqgfb4

Awesome intro cutscene and genuinely well written level with a charming tone to it. One of the few humoristic levels in LBP which does the humour right.

A World As One (FILM)
By: Tactical_Soup
http://lbp.me/v/xzv0de

An intro movie with a totalitarian story. Music is a bit distracting, but it is a nice example of how LBP can be all murky and gloom.

The gameplay is a bit lacking, but the level has wonderfully created environment.

This level has two preceding it. But this one is the best one. Platforming level with nice story elements and unique visuals.

Might as well put in one versus level. This one plays like a bomberman, but instead of bomberman you control tanks, and can choose between a range of different arenas. Interested?

Thanks for the feedback. I'll have to make another pass through the waterfalls. I have a little slowdown when I play, but nothing crippling, others have told me they've had issues there too, however.

I wanted the cave area to be longer, but I was maxxing out my thermometer already. I spent too much time beautifying as I was building I think. Instead of cutting up the level to expand it I was thinking of putting a level link in that area that you can find that leads to a sub level that explores the same concept.

Yeah I should make the Lives situation clearer...

You have infinite Lives, the penalty for death is you lose 20 points. Also, when you respawn, my system auto-kills any enemies around you without giving you points. This is to stop players getting stuck in a constant death loop (which happened in an early version and had people raging). If you see the Scoreboard you've made it to the end.

I'm currently toying with some ideas for a Final Boss. Will probably update it at the weekend.

MM Movie - The Merchant of Venice
By: MuddledMuppet
http://lbp.me/v/x4v5eg

This is probably an example of one of the best voice acting I have stumbled so far in LBP2. Play it to see how the technical limitations of the LBP2's recording quality can still be diminished to an extent when someone with good voice control does the job.

This is not an actual level. It is more of a painting museum created with stickers. I find it refreshing to play/see these types of levels, especially when they are unique and creative.

Cosmic Odyssey
By: Nevenz
http://lbp.me/v/x28xmx

This level has a unique style to it (combines ambient music, space opera theme, nice visuals of space and includes side-scrolling gameplay with a musical feel to it). Although, I have to be honest here, I didn't like this level that much (the story was too longwinded, the gameplay a bit anticlimactic), but I am still highlighting it, because I find the awesome visual style and uniqueness of it to be more than enough to deserve that.

I'm probably the only person on the planet who could do this, but I managed to break this level by falling into a lethal lake (I guess) before he intended me to.

It spawned me infinitely over that same pit with no grappling hook, and no layers I could stand on.

I just played Poultry Panic! Oh my god, that level is sooo good. It made the companion so likable and you develop a real connection with it. I really hate the ending though, ;_;

Karkaneias Caves and Light and shadows are also awesome levels. Especially Light and Shadows, the visuals in that is unbelievably good. It had me in seconds when I saw that the floor lights up as you go against a dark background.

Some of you might have seen this level before from the beta, but it's been brought back to life in full form! If you've ever played a God of War/Dynasty Warriors/Devil May Cry type game before, hopefully you'll feel right at home with this level. :moody:

The goal was to see if I could bring that same level of action to LBP2 and here's to hoping I've reached a little bit of that same magic as those action games bring to the players out there.

- It has sharks, zombies, dinosaurs, and even a gigantic metal octopus!
- Pull off insane combos and see if you can reach 99 hits!
- Nutty special attacks and full screen supers!
- Beast Grip action similar to Devil May Cry 4's devil bringer
- Regenerative health

The youtube is still uploading, so I'll post when it's done. Hope you guys like it!

And Poultry Panic is awesome sauce.
...this level is made of pure awesome. I played through it, and defeated the boss, with a constant smile on my face.
Also loved that one guest character.

It's a really straightforward platformer. As a matter of fact, were it not for the sackbots, this could have mostly been done in the first game.

Still, I spent a long time on it, and am proud of some of the concepts. Nothing mindblowing, but the level does what I meant it to do (I hope). :p

I tried your level and left a review. I kinda think the level could use some sort of a theme. What I mean is when you see one part of the level and you look at another part, there isn't much of a connection between the two in terms of look. It's kinda like a mix of different platforming one after another. I don't know if my critiques are good or not, but hope it can help you in some way.

I agree. I love that level, probably the most enjoyable level i have played so far. Very clever and well thought out with great puzzles. Fotosynthesis1 must have put a lot of work in that one. Check also his other level called Spike World, which is a straight platformer but very nice.

It's a pity that MM seems mostly interested in picking games that "supposedly" show how versitale the create engine is instead of how fun the actual gameplay is.

Oh man, I picked up a PS3 and this game earlier this week. Is the community here dead?

I tried Karkaneias Caves and it was amazing. There is sooooooooo much to catch up on. Crazy!

Oh, do LPB costumes work in LPB2? Like if I download the Ico/SOTC set will it work in LPB2? Do I need to do anything special to get it to work?

Its not dead at all. I guess its just that there are so many possibilities now, its going to take longer for people to focus and set up a level. At least thats how its been for me :p Finally got around to really making a level (so many possibilities have just had me tossing ideas around).

Welcome to episode 59's fortnight of fantastic levels, courtesy of the spotlight team and you - LBPC's awesome and growing number of superb creators!

Since our last episode we have had numerous changes in our PS3 Spotlight Crew staff. First off, we would like to say a very large thank you and farewell to Plasmavore, whose busy schedule has his time committed elsewhere. His contributions were long and large, and will not be forgotten. Please give him your thanks! While retiring from level-playing due to impending exams, Holguin86 is still on the scene, "helping with the housework" as you might say. We also send our sympathies to Keldur who has been having eye troubles. He came back ready to play a few weeks past but has since disappeared again. We have also seen a couple of the Spotlight Crew disappear without a trace - if you find them, please return them to PO Box LBPC. Thanks!!

In addition, we would like to welcome KlawwTheClown, OneEyedBanshee, RangerZero, valmassoi, rialrees, smasher, Bremnen, L1GhTmArE and X-FROGBOY-X to our ranks! Their help is greatly appreciated, especially due to the continuing trend of a massive amount of levels being published to the showcase each and every day.

For episode 59 we've spent many hours picking away at the level list one by one, we are sadly still behind! This episode's list comes from an immense pool of over 400 levels played over the past few weeks, and only includes entries that were published before Monday, February 7th. An important decision has been made via public poll on the long list of backlogged levels that has accumulated since the last Spotlight - head to this thread to get involved in helping out, and huge thanks to those who already have!

In addition, we have unfortunately decided to publish this week's month's Spotlight without the PSP section. Due to the unexplained absence of many of the PSP Crew, and the insubstantial trickle of new PSP levels, the future of this section of the Spotlight regrettably hangs in the balance.

Finally, we would also like to apologise for the lateness of this Spotlight's release. Hopefully, before long and with generous new Spotlighters volunteering their services, this bi-weekly, twice-a-monthly feature will soon be back on track.

Enjoy!

Just uploaded my little training level for the Gundam Wing Project I'm haphazardly working on the side:

Shattered Embrace

Finally after 3 months of work, I have published my first level in LBP 2. It is a 30 minutes long movie (consisting of three parts/level links). It is a story about an investigator whose life became a destroyed and unstable clash of memories, imageries and broken thoughts, due to an incident which he deeply denies.

Co-creators for this movie were: MuddledMuppet & leklack - voices; hilightnotes - music; camel504 - tree objects. Ladonna2 - font.

I hope you enjoy it and any feedback is appreciated. :)

Even though the LBP2 talk on GAF may seem quiet, your creations and recommendations are not in vain. I just added a bunch and I can't wait to play. Thanks guys/gals! I think I'm finally ready (after countless hours with both games) to create my first level.
