Wow the trophies were so easy in this one. You don't even need to collect everything. I appreciated the pop-it puzzles as opposed to tutorial mode, because it allows you to put it all into action, but for the most part it was still fairly boring. I'm gonna give it a go on making a good platforming level, but I always get hung up on where to go with everything.

New update on the status of missing DLC

Hello Everyone

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the US PlayStation Store team were unable to publish all of the missing DLC during yesterday's PlayStation Store update.

They have provided us with a list of the remaining missing DLC and will now be working to upload this content periodically with a goal to get all of the DLC uploaded by December 16th.

This does not include the previously mentioned Level Packs that will require some compatibility updates performed on them before we can release them for LittleBigPlanet 3.

For your reference, I have included a list of the currently missing DLC below.
If you encounter any issues with any DLC not listed below or mentioned in the link above, please feel free to send us an email to hello@littlebigplanet.com and we will investigate.

Many, many apologies for the delay in getting this content released for LittleBigPlanet 3, we know that you're all really anticipating be able to gain access to your favourite content and we truly appreciate your patience whilst we work with the US PlayStation Store team to get this issue resolved.

Thanks all!

:)

And with the additional delays on the old level packs, it's gonna be a while until I can touch my LBP2 levels. :(

The in-game installing bar hasn't moved in a while. :( The icon is still moving, if that's indicative of it still working. [EDIT: The bar started filling up again after about 90 minutes of not]

Games ahould take advantage of the download manager in the OS instead of these in-game ways of doing it. Do these continue when the game is exited/console is in rest mode?

Games just don't release in a completely working state anymore (unless they're Nintendo). It's really starting to piss me off.

They really don't. I honestly believe in LBP case sony rushed them to get a game out for the holidays. There was nothing on it leading up until e3 and it pretty much came out of nowhere.

Sigh, trying to 100% the great escape and Im missing 1 item. Ive been through it about 15 times trying to ace it, and I cant find it. Were there any super sneak items hiding somewhere? I did get the heart sticker switch already. The item is in the 2nd to last bottom row, 4 or 5 from the right.

Try the impact sensor. Hook that up to a randomizer and hook that up to a selector with all of your movers.

Not getting it to work right. What does the force chip do?

I'm trying to figure out the best way to have a particle constantly moving in 2D, constantly rotating, and anytime it collides, to go back in the opposite direction.

The impact sensor doesn't seem to be doing what I want and I can't figure out what the force chip even does :(

So if it hits a wall at 45*, you want it to bounce back the way it came, not bounce off the other direction like a ball in real life? If the former, you can use a physics tweaker and set bounce to 100%. I have no idea about the latter as I haven't been in create mode in years, but I will be rectifying that shortly.

Sorry, not necessarily where it came, just bounce off objects. Right now it's just rotating and knocking into the corner of the wall but not going anywhere else. The physics tweaker doesn't seem to let you tweak how bouncy something is.

Edit: found it in the material tweaker but even with bouncy at 100% it just bounces a couple of times.

What shape is the containing object? If its a polygon, you could make each side a separate piece with pistons behind them, then use a lot of proxy sensors wired to the piston. When the object hits the wall (sets off the proxy sensor), that sends a signal to make the piston push the piece. Id think a travel of .1 would be all you need, not sure about timing or flipper on/off, youd have to play with that to get the effect you want.

There's one above the first lift you need to weigh down with Toggle.

Swoop has a couple hard to see ones at the top and bottom of the sidescrolling laser part, and there's one behind one of Newton's monitors near the end.

Its gotta be the one behind a monitor then because ive been through each of the other parts too many times. I thought I looked behind each monitor, but Ill try again. Thanks for the tips.

Huh, that's really odd, but glad to hear things have worked out!

So what's everyone working on? ^^
2 levels. What I'm working on depends on what I figure out from screwing around with the tools. Still don't know why stuff like rails don't work when I put them down.

Evolution

The concept for this is pretty simple, it's a level that will carry you through the various stages of evolution. You'll start out in the primordial pool or whatever, become terrestrial at some point, discover fire, the wheel, etc. Gameplay-wise, it will be centred around the sackpocket, and you will equip different pivotal discoveries throughout human history. First one I think will be the torch. I made a prototype but it becomes really difficult to scale equippables down because the geometry starts simplifying a bit too much.

Padded Room

This sort of emerged from screwing around with some sexy ass fabric textures. A bit more generic of a show, but you start off in a padded room where you are being examined by an antagonist through a one-way mirror. Eventually the door blows open and you escape out of the facility where you see others are being experimented on in various ways and you eventually face the boss at the end after slowly learning about your powers over the course of the level.

Some early work on the start of the level here. I've done quite a bit since but I'm not ready to show yet.

Man, I know exactly what Papal Mache is talking about. I sit here thinking, "Oh man, this would be sweet!" So I plop down for some rigorous creatin' and....

Big hairy brain turkey, all up in my head.

I mean at least compatibility for the musical instruments they introduced.

From what I understand, you have to replay/re-ace/re-loot the levels to get the content from them back. No Move-pack levels, no Move-pack instruments.

I've completed the game and am still missing a power up. What's the unlock condition?

Buy 5 costumes from Zom-Zom's?

Well that sucks...I dont have LBP 2 anymore and you'd think the move instruments would be default LBP3 sequencer objects >_<

Kinda renders alot of the created tracks unusable...or at least the later created tracks.

Well you should be able to get them back once the Move pack does become playable on LBP3. Until then, you'll have to stick it out. I feel your pain. I was working on a level up until LBP3's release with the intent of continuing it after beating the game, but now I've got to wait for LBP3 to get the Move pack, PotC pack and Cross Controller pack available before I can touch it.

Yup i'll live. I guess I can still keep on working on things and then set up the soundtrack afterwards.

I have had a quick look at create mode. You cab immediately unlock everything which is good. I tried out painting which you can do with touch and with the Move. Touch is more precise, but Move is pretty good too for using brushes that you can turn. I like that you can control pressure on both with the T/L2 button, configurable to size or opacity. Dumped a bit of it to YouTube before I went to bed:

How do I color decorations that can be colored? Seems like I can't select or press square on them?

You put them on a colorable material (sticker panel or hologram are best. If there is a material that has brightness, opacity AND animation speed settings, then that is even better, but I haven't played in create mode enough to see if there is). The decoration will match the settings of the material.

To get the best of both worlds, I ended up buying the PS3 and the PS4 version. The PS4 port has certain exclusive features which are welcome, but at the end of the day it's a nightmare to create levels if you can't access all of your LBP 1 and 2 content or use any DLC. That, and I have had the PS4 version crash to the PS4 menu over a hundred times now. I never would have expected a last-gen version of a game to be a better experience.

I am basically doing the core creating on the PS3 version, then using the PS4 version to add exclusive tweaks such as trailers or whatever else. I initially just had it only on PS4, but I caved in and picked it up for PS3 after dealing with all of the headaches.

After publishing my first level in LBP3 and hitting the thermometer limit, it is a little heartbreaking to think about how much better the game could have been if it was made exclusively for the PS4. I made a pretty neat Back to the Future level where you could freely travel in-between 4 different time periods, but I reached the PS3-defined resource limit before I could add a bunch of fun rpg elements. The level basically ended up being a quick tour of Hill Valley instead of a fully interactive experience like I originally wanted. I guess layering 4 detailed environments into one space was a little too ambitious. The dynamic thermometer isn't always useful either. When I tried it out, it made level-breaking things happen no matter what I did (permancy tweaker, pre-loader didn't help).

I'm still a big fan of LBP3, but if I had to choose the "better" version, I would go with PS3 since it doesn't fully take advantage of the PS4 hardware in the first place.

I haven't bought the game, not sure if I want to yet. On LBP2 I made a level with a lot of prep-obstacles to go into my first LBP3 level, but if I can't access the MGS pack yet, I'm locked out of it. I could comb through it and remove all the MGS content, I guess, but there's an issue and a question here; are those multi-coloured plasma balls exclusively from the MGS pack, or did they become core content in LBP2? I was experiencing glitches with the purple plasma in LBP2 (the plasma you get automatically) hence I only used the MGS-pack plasma.

Also please tell me that trailers don't automatically download in the pod, downloading/loading levels usually takes long enough. What a poster said on the previous page about loading other people's planets was spot-on, that stuff just gets in the way. My internet lets me run multiplayer games normally, but I don't have the luxury of loading all this extra fluff without consequence.

And this talk of entire saves being erased doesn't inspire consumer confidence, especially if it's not guaranteed that the cloud will be able to store the save.

I will at least have all of the core LBP2 and LBP1 material, stickers and songs and stuff, if my profiles for those games are up on the PS plus cloud, right? And the moon data?

^^^^
As of right now, there is no way to import any levels directly from your LBP2 moon; so if you want something from it, publish it as a locked level and copy it once you get LBP3.

I think they should patch the community area to make it show LBP3 levels by default. If I'm playing LBP 3, I should see content for it first. New levels, most hearted and most busiest still mixed up with LBP1 and 2. It doesn't even matter if you filter it out as once you back out one category you have to do it again.

Matchmaking is pretty bad in this game, went in and it was lagging like crazy, layers were shifting left and right, incredible input lag etc. :(

All I wanted was someone to help me get all the goodies you need 2 players to get >.<

Yeah I have yet to be able to connect well with someone. 9/10 times people reject me from joining. One time I got a request to join my game and I let them, but it lagged so bad I died from all the platforming obstacles so I had to kick them :(

That feeling when you finally create a solution to a problem in your complex logic and everything works just perfectly. (before another problem invariably arises)

Personally, my game crashes every time I try to join another player in Manglewood, so that x4 area is keeping itself very much off-limits. I've got a second controller, but that's it. Not enough cash for a third and fourth at the moment, even for $80.

Picked up the game yesterday, having a lot of fun, but also running into a lot of glitches. Most annoying one is that I have to have a friend play on their account, they have to sign into guest while in the pod, and then their profile. Game has seized up quite a few times too.

I played a little of LBP1 and none of the second one, so I've got a couple newbie questions: Can you lock yourself to staying on one layer? Some levels I keep moving onto layers without wanting to. Also is there anyway to filter community levels by what game they're from?

Unfortunately PSN has been acting up today, was looking forward to playing a lot of community stuff with my sister, and we can only remain connected for like 1-2 games at a time.

So I went back to re-beat the DC Comics level pack in my quest to re-get everything I once had, and uh... there's a cutscene on the Joker level that kills you no matter what (it's not supposed to). Right in the very beginning, you fall through a boobytrapped floor and you're supposed to land on a spring pad that launches you and batman to safety, but the changed physics or some kind of bug have caused the spring pad to launch you just a hair too short, sending both you and batman to your deaths. It's during a no-control cutscene too, so there's nothing you can do but watch. And yes, it does count as a death.

This is on PS4, by the way.

For the last two side missions I completed I have received the rewards in the level but then when I go to customize they simply are not there. Has anyone else run into this issue? Is there a fix?

Sorry if this has been discussed already.

Did you use a second controller at all? Or did you join someone else?

You don't earn anything if you're not the host. And the second controller thing screwed up my profile so it thought I was using a guest account at all times.

Wait.. Is this the case for any form of co-op?

I was just about to ask in this thread if anyone wanted to complete the 2x parts together x_x

So I bought the game (PS4.)

Pretty cute so far, but the bugs are pretty damn bad. I imported my unlockables from LBP2, and most of the music from that is missing and who knows what else, damn. The game freezes pretty consistently whenever I try to move one of my older published levels, too.

At least loading levels is much quicker than my experience on LBP1/2, but I hope the major problems get patched soon.
