Liveblog thread for 3DS new Nintendo IP announcement (Code Name STEAM)

Meh. I'm not a fan of SRPGs at all. I'll probably ditch my 3DS XL as there's still nothing announced that's a true must play for me, and I haven't turned it on once since getting a Vita in February. I just don't have time for two portables really.

So it's basically the most cherished Sega IP of the past 10 years, combined with Fire Emblem/Advance Wars, set in steampunk London, with superhero agents led by Abraham Lincoln, fighting aliens from outer space, with a comic book style, no overhead map, and third-person shooting.

Basically.
Sounds about right

It worked very well with Kid Icarus.

Try this, it's like a second analog stick! It's like $3.00 plus shipping on Nintendo's store.

Sounds good, will be interested to watch it grow.
Some bitter people who set themselves up for disappointment as usual but glad to see many excited.

I can't recall properly but it seems that Sony at some point something to do with the Valkyris Ip, in fact the anime was produced by Aniplex wich is a company owned by Sony.

That makes sense, but it shouldn't prevent a company like Nintendo from approaching Sega about developing a new IP in that style.

In any case I am interested but I dislike that they are claiming they went through this whole thought process when it sounds so similar to another game in the genre.

Every thread. Like a clockwork. We get it bro.

I love everything about this announcement. I just hope it retains its appeal to SRPG micromanagers who are coming to this game from a place of familiarity with Fire Emblem and Advance Wars and that the depth for methodical planners has not been watered down.

This expose also reminds me of how much I'd pay for a good Valkryia Chronicles collection. Funny.

Edit: Have I been on GAF long enough for this to be as weird as it looks/feels, or are people here actually upset that Nintendo debuted two new IPs at an E3?

The mind, it boggles. @___@
