Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Review & Discussion Thread

I wanted to like this game and have tried 3 separate times to get into it.

It's dog water. It's not even mindless fun… it's just mindless.

This.

It has the typical "lowest common denominator" James Gunn toilet/obscene/crass "humour", the gameplay is boring and shit and the level design ...oh boy the level design...
It's not even a "product of its time" type of thing, it was bad then and it's even worse now.
I had more fun with games like Wanted: Dead, The No more heroes trilogy and Shadows of the damned, this one just isn't it...
I played it in Graphics mode and it ran at a locked 60FPS for me. But I am on PS5 Pro and while it's not enhanced for PS5 Pro, the extra horsepower probably helped. Saw no performance differences between the 2 modes aside form graphics mode being nice and sharp

There's a difference : Quality drops frames even on a PS5 Pro which is especially visible during cutscenes

Didn't have any framerate issues.

I'm hoping to squeeze this and Dispatch in before my next big game, I'm finishing up Yotei right now but I've been keeping an eye out for a sale and had to jump on this today!
I love Suda51 games, I'll buy anything he's involved with. But Lollipop Chainsaw is my least favourite, but I still like it. I'd personally rather they have remastered Killer Is Dead. The amazing artstyle would really shine at high resolution, I recently replayed it on PS3 and it's still a lot of fun.

P.S. It's the one of Suda's easiest games to platinum/100% as well. I managed to also import a physical copy from Japan

Under fucking rated right there. Wish we could get an updated version too. That and Killer7 go hand in hand for me stylistically. The soundtrack is fuckawesome as well.

Cant wait for Romeo Is A Dead Man. Seems like it has a lot in common with both K7 and KiD.

Most definitely, don't know why they can't port Killer7 to modern consoles. I know a remaster of Kill Is Dead is probably never happening, but I'd buy that in a heartbeat, i love the game so much.

Personally I can't wait for Romeo Is A Dead Man. But then again, I'd buy anything Suda51 related, but I have never been disappointed.

Glad I found another Suda51 and Killer Is Dead fan here

Oh dude he's been my favorite game director since Killer7 first blew my mind in 2005 and I still play it annually on the Cube.

I had a blast playing through KiD. NMH3 really wasn't all that bad either. Still like the original the most though.

I look forward to his releases like Id imagine Id be looking forward to new Kubrick films if I was around in the 60s-70s.

No More Heroes 1 is also for me the best one. I recently got the Platinum for NMH3, it was an insane platinum. I liked it a lot, but didn't love it as I do NMH1 and 2. But still a very good game and batshit crazy as usual.

Yeah that plat was too crazy for me. I was still able to fully upgrade Travis and everything though which was good enough. Got all the kitties and scorpions too. Also double dipped on the Switch and PS5 which I never do :messenger_grinning:

I'm going through NMH3 at the moment and...it's stylish as usual and batshit crazy (typical of Suda) but...I don't know, something about it feels shallow and empty ?
Loved NMH and liked NMH2 btw...

I got both versions as well. But playing the PS5 version literally felt like a different game, nice 60FPS and sharp graphics. But the Switch version has a certain charm as well (when it can actually keeps it framerate.) But I'm so hyper for Romeo Is A Dead man, I can't wait to play it.

Not going to argue that. NMH3 has something off about it. Does feel shallow and empty. While NMH1's open world was also empty, it had something special about it. I think also NMH 1 and 2 had more of a surreal grounded feeling to it, where as NMH3 feels a little bit uninspired. I still liked it, but NMH1 is still the goat

Romeo looks great. Will day one it even with abysmal reviews.

Also, I'm playing let it die 2 next month. There will be dozens of us, dozens !!!
