Anyone still playing devil's advocate? Does MiB still deserve any sympathy?

He's the most sympathetic character in the entire show. He's trapped in a living hell for being too curious about the world and having a douchebag for a brother.

That's right, fuckers. I hope he destroys that damn island and finally gets to live his life.

DESMOND
JACK
BEN

All the other characters are sorta on the same level.

Favorite characters

1. Locke - So multifaceted, he is too interesting not to be my favorite although I did not ever see things the way he did.
2. Eko - The true heir
3. Jack
4. Kate - Way too important to not like imo plus I liked her flashbacks
5. Desmond

You know, I'm sure I'm alone, but Juliet was one of my favourite characters. Best woman on the show.

You’re not alone. I totally agree with this. I’m not even sure why you think you’d be alone. she’s an awesome character, gender be damned.

I’m all set for the finale. I got some chips and drink ready to go. I’ve been mostly a silent member of Lost Gaf (I tend to watch episodes a couple days after they air and I can’t jump in for fear of spoilers) but I’ll be watching it “live” tonight, following along with the thread and I’m really stoked about this.

As far as tonight goes, all I know is that Ben BETTER not truly be bad again. His character Arc was BRILLIANT, topped off by the excellent Dr. Linus this season. That episode, coupled with the fact that I REALLY want him to have one final con in him, leaves me hoping that Ben is just playing Locke.

My top five LEAST favorite characters, because haters gonna hate :

1) Kate - Annoys me heavily with her self righteousness and indignation. Absolutely gorgeous, but I've never "bought" the character. Juliet is the best female character the show has had, followed closely by Sun. I also think that they are better actresses even though Evi got an emmy nod.

2) Ms. Hawking - Just a stupid character. Her "Flashes Before Your Eyes" segment seems almost unexplainable. The DHARMA station in LA segment where she was dressed like a monk was laughable.

3) Radzinski - Sooooooooo annoying. "THEY SAW THE PLAN!" Funny that we knew he would blow his head off, 3 seasons before meeting him...:lol

4) Jacob - Biggest disappointment of any character the show has ever introduced. After 3 or 4 seasons of "Our leader is great" and "The man who brought us here is a great man" shit, I can't believe we got that elusive, soft, whiny brat that is Jacob. He deserved to get stabbed by Ben with his "what about you line". Jack will definitely be a better ruler of the island.

5) Dogen - Very stupid character, don't really know what his purpose this season was supposed to be. I suppose that the Temple Others needed a leader inside the Temple but in season six, a character like that felt far too close to the elusiveness of the earlier seasons for me to enjoy.

I think Ben is right is hard going a top 5.

Forgot about Eko too. How does anyone hate Hawaii!?

Who said he hated Hawaii? I thought he finished with the show cause his parents died?

C'mon, dude. Easily.

The finale doesn't actually start until 9 right?

I still have to get a fucking haircut...:(

Is the thing at 7 live? Just a huge recap?

Might have to skip the haircut.

I didn't look at everyone's lists :)

I'm glad people love Juliet. She's so awesome. Watching Through The Looking Glass, her conversation with Sawyer where she talked about the aliens the runway was for and asked Sawyer if he'd screwed Jack yet? So good.

Juliet's scene where she's crying uncontrollably while trying to smash Jughead is one of the best moments of the show. Some powerful shit.

Look at my list, bro. Shes at #5!
and my #3! It killed me that she didn't get to go back to her sister. After her confession about wanting to go home to Jack at the operating room table I have been fullspeed on the Juliet train.

Just the answer from the man I was hoping for :lol

i love juliet a lot more then kate tbh i wish they would have switched roles and kate died in the nuke :)

Just knocked 2 hours out of the way by watching Memento for the first time in 8 years. Last saw it when I was about 9. Needless to say, I actually understood it this time. :lol Fucking awesome movie.

I'm a list sheep:

1) Desmond
2) Jack
3) Sayid
4) Sawyer
5) Ben
5a) Locke

Shannon? ...really?

My reasons are threefold:

- Best departure of the early seasons.
- Blonde.
- Looked after Vincent (the greatest character of all time, of all time).

There are a couple of rumors about why he left the show.

The one I always thought had the most credibility was that him and some of the cast/crew didn't get along, specifically him and Terry O'Quinn. I've heard that he was a method actor that stayed in character the whole time on set, and that this just didn't mesh well with the cast/crew.

Terry once said in an interview, in regards to AAA, something about how "sometimes they pick actors so good, that the feelings the characters have for one another bleed through to real life" or something like that, basically implying that him and AAA didn't get along and that their relationship mirrored that of Locke/Eko in the show.

I think that Jorge Garcia also hinted at something similar.

It was most likely a mixture of a bunch of different things. Regardless, I think that the fact that he hasn't showed up this season probably says quite a bit...

Loved Juliet but she needed a transition episode of some kind. Can't explain it, but they spent a lot of time building her up to be distrusted. Her best times were as a part of the triangle with Kate.

You aren't, she was a great character, why is she dead and Kate is still alive? :(
After rewatching the pilot last night, they really do a lot to focus on Kate and especially her relationship with Jack that's formed at the very beginning. It's very easy to see why she's still alive up to this point and I don't doubt they will mirror the importance she had in the pilot with similar importance in the finale. I think there's a good chance she could die tonight, though. (pure speculation)

i remember hearing a podcast with Lindacluse and he said its because he was uncomfortable with Hawaii. He said he didnt like it there.

Guys, I think I'll stay awake this night (its 00:12 atm in germany) for lost. what do you think, when the episode will hit the net inofficially?

I liked Juliet so much because she humanized the others. She and Mr. Friendly were my favorite others, was sad to see him start questioning things right before he got mowed down by Sawyer (although that would've happened anyways if they ever met again).

Which brings me to my top 5 most gut-wrenching death scenes

1. Jin/Sun (and west sayid and LAPISUS)
2. Charlie
3. Locke (get's much more epic when you look back)
4. Juliet (why did they have to show me that so many times in the premiere and recap :( )
5. Two for the Road

Speaking of LOST related videos, this one has been posted many times over the past year, but I feel the need to post it again, as its probably the most relevant thing going into tonight.

It's A Leap Of Faith - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvDt9EARSpA&annotation_id=annotation_94768&feature=iv

Sorry to quote myself, but strangely, watching this again is starting to soften me on the idea that Locke had to die in order to for Jack to pick up the torch and finish the job. Jack was always supposed to lead, but without Locke, he would never have made even the first step toward his destiny.

What the fuck is happening to me?

KARL?

terrible character

Karl is amazing, how dare you.

I cried.
Jack would make my list for seasons 1&6 but Dharma workman Jack knocks his overall status down to 6 after the great Karl.
I like Juliet as well, probably the best female character.

Man, I can't believe it's about to be over.

Funny enough I swore this show off when it first started. But then when I was over a friends and he was watching the first season I gave it a chance and got hooked. Since then I haven't stopped loving this show.

Anyways, my top 5 would have to be...

1. Desmond
2. Ben
3. Locke
4. Mr. Ecko
5. Charlie/Juliet

Expecting backlash after final minutes. I'm going to look at this post 30 years from now and revel in how right I was. And I'm really going to miss this show. Seriously an end to something special.
There is backlash after everything that gets massive hype, in both the OT and Gaming sides. That is the safest prediction you could make about the Lost finale.
