Please dont call me an ignorant twat for asking this, but was there some explanation on Jack X's neck cuts?

Just figured it was from MIB lightly cutting Jack's throat during the battle.

Speaking of which, it reminds me of ONE MORE complaint I have about the finale. The battle scene between Jack and MIB was fucking awesome, but damn them to hell for having a commercial break effectively destroy the momentum and not just that, but when it does the same action again (Jack leaping at MIB) it's a completely different outcome. He leaps with his fist out, but after the break, he leaps without the fist out.

For no reason whatsoever, it was from the neckwound from Flocke.

That, more than anything else, made me think the timelines would meet, literally. It really doesn't make any sense why it would be there in "purgatory".

Red herring to make people think it was a flashforward reset, I guess.

Damn it. This helps a bit...

Also, for the love of Buddha can someone please make me a good gif'd avatar from something in the finale?

Look up. He had to realize that he was dead and remember how he died. Jack, of course, needed more help than the others.

Yeah, I'm interested to see how the final episode will be cut on the DVD. I hope it's seamless.

I imagine the potency of the final episode will be so more powerful on the DVD flowing naturally. I'm biggest complaint of the finale was it being disjointed by so many commercials.

Fisting. Serious business.

How does anyone know any rules about purgatory :lol ?

Yes, I totally thought Jack was going to do a Power Wave Ground Punch with his newfound powers. But after the break it wasn't.

Why you gotta hate on Frank, man.

hey I like Lapidus, I was preaching to everyone that he wasn't dead (trying not to rub it in... trying not to rub it in...) I'd just like something from a more... powerful moment?

IIRC, it didn't really crash, so much as run into trees and shit.

THAT I'm fairly confident they planned. That the characters would use 316 to escape the Island in the final episode. So when they brought it in, they made to not to fuck it up too badly.

There was a runway, remember! It was being worked on since early S3.

Any average thinking man would also recognize the immense problem debris is going to present a plane in that position.

They had a sub. The plane had already served its heavy cargo delivery purposes.

It's another one of my problems with the some current apologies for the show. Calling it a 'thinking man's' show is a huge misnomer. We're only supposed to analyze a narrow corridor of events and only certain characters.

No, I don't hate Lost. I also had issues with the 2nd season finale of Breaking Bad. Issues that amused me when they were addressed in the most recent episode.

Oh snap! Literally epic avatar change.

(For the record I think I'm keeping mine for maybe ever.)

That scene was literally the moment I thought JJ Abrams was a genius.

Then the polar bear happened.

I don't think they could use the sub, just getting that feeling.

Frank and Co. where there for a while working on the plane, so that pretty much clears everything up, really.

Specifically in regards to getting 316 off the ground.

So I guess only atheists got screwed with this one. :lol

:(
Not really. I'm an atheist and I watched it in a room of atheists and we all loved it. I'm not against the idea of an afterlife. I'd love there to be one, and the way in which Lost depicted it was beautiful. I just think that we won't be so lucky :( Plus I think it was ambiguous enough to form any number of conclusions that don't necessarily rely on a deity.

Yep, that's why i can understand someone not liking the finale, i personally liked it though.

There's a difference between constrictive criticism and criticism like 'OMG THEY ALL DIED IN THE PLANE CRASH!".:lol

As an atheist I loved it. I didn't take it as though they all "Went to heaven". The Church setting was about Jack & his father over anything else. The room they had their conversation was clearly adorned with relics from many different of faiths including Buddhism & Islam.

I hated how they put a lot of red herrings in flashsideways, i mean it makes sense that it was all a purgatory, but they so many red herrings throughout the season that made it seem like it wasn't.

so what was the significance of the plane wreckage at the very end? I know I should get it, but I'm confused.
It was hinting that they really all died in the plane crash.

Was just a throwback to the pilot i think

There was none. It had nothing to do with the episode. ABC put that in there to act as a transition to the news...featuring a plane crash, apparently.

It was just a quiet throwback. A special ending sequence for the final episode.

There isn't any significance at all.

It was just still shots of the wreckage, doesn't mean anything.

ABC put out emails clearing that up, becuase some thought it implied that they all died in the Pilot :lol ..

I was always intrigued by the people who was loving Lost's score, I mean, it wasn't that special to me...then the final episode happened and I saw the light.

I don't even know what you guys are talking about. But I didn't watch the finale on TV. Maybe that's why.
The end credits were a silent montage of the wreckage of 815 from Season 1.

I thought it was a very nice touch, but apparently its making some people think the entire show was purgatory instead of just the sideways

Now that you have been reawakened, you should rewatch the entire series now and repent before Giacchino, your lord and savior.

After the final shot (only on ABC, I think) there's credits, with some images above of the plane wreckage on the beach. No people there, so people wondering it that means they were dead all along. They are fools.
