It's not just you.Naked Snake said:Hey is it just me or does the music here sound incredibly similar to one of the tracks from LOST? Not sure of the name but I might be thinking of "No Place Like Home".
It's from a BBC documentary series called Wonders of the Solar System.

You skipped episodes of a heavily serialized show?GDJustin said:No rewatch for me until the epic box set comes out![]()
I've only seen the episodes once, when they aired, and several in seasons 2-5 I didn't see at all. Only 1 & 6 I watched religiously.
So yeah I'm pumped for August.
I do that a lot. All you need to do is dial yourself into the situation and try to forget the major events of the episode. Season 4 was great for this.big ander said:You skipped episodes of a heavily serialized show?
Realistically, I suspect that's how most of the general public does it.big ander said:You skipped episodes of a heavily serialized show?

The people like us who wouldn't even think of skipping episodes/seasons of a heavily serialized TV show are actually pretty hardcore. Even some of my more geeky friends have no problem admitting that they skip around sometimes.
Makes no sense to me though. It's like a cardinal sin in my book :lol

It will be a long while before I ever watch this show again.
So many questions went unanswered, and the ending of the show (despite years of planning in advance) still felt rushed. And yes, I am still bitter that Locke's only purpose in life was to give Jack faith, apparently![]()

That's basically been my experience. I've run across so many bitter people in my real life that felt downright betrayed by the show's outcome. I can sort of sympathize. I'd be the first to agree that the show had some pretty significant flaws, especially toward the end.Yaweee said:All of my friends fucking despised the finale, and some of them made points to argue with me vehemently about how horrendous it was. I wasn't even trying to convince them it was good; I was just overall pleased with the depth or way in which most of the major mysteries were answered. I disliked some of the sappiness or massive plotholes, but nothing the final season or episode did diminished how much I love the show.

I think this is actually my only real gripe with the show. I understand them having to drop the Walt stuff (though they could have done exposition style, whatever) but they never gave him a name and they danced crazily around it and it was annoying as fuck.Willy105 said:Everybody I knew loved it, but their outcome was different, they loved the "sappiness", or whatever you call something being happy and nice, and they didn't notice any plotholes (me neither), but the lack of a name for the villain was confusing for them.

So they were dead all along? Fuuuuuuuuuck that.

I'm going to start the series finale episode right now but I don't want it to end. : (

Every time this thread gets bumped back up, I know that on the page one person will say they were dead all along. :lol Amazing that people managed to keep up with all the mysteries of the show and yet can't understand the one thing the show actually spelled out clearly.AnimatorZombie said:Every time this thread gets bumped back up, I come in expecting some new DVD/Blu Ray release news![]()

I'd rather a really nice coffee table book :/.
Even though I liked the finale, I've definitely turned on this point since then. The more I think of it, the more that argument loses its weight, even though I may have used it in my post-finale haze. Yeah, the characters were ultimately more important than the mythology, but it doesn't excuse them fucking one over for the other. For 5 seasons they slowly provided satisfying answers, but it kinda just seemed like they got tired of the mythology they created, because it got really sloppy near the end.Anasui Kishibe said:fucking disappointing finale. I had a feeling they wouldn't be able to explain everything after watching Across the sea, but they went way too far explaining. It's just pretentious bullshit, oh look the show is about the people not the mysteries, well thanks for fuck, mysteries were a fucking integral part of the show, one of the reasons that kept people glued to it.[NOTHING
it won't ruin the opinion I have for the show, but it sure left me appalled and shocked
Agreed on all points. Seriously.Calcaneus said:My problem with it is less things being left unanswered, but things being handled really lazily. The sickness and the whole Jacob/MIB story in particular. The sickness was shit because it basically worked whenever it wanted to and could be broken with a pep talk. Everything we got about Jacob and MIB really felt half-assed as well, it felt like the writers decided right before writing the episode that the two would be naive brothers.
Richard's episode was perfect because it fit right in with the level of storytelling and back story we expect from Lost. Across the Sea in every way fell short of what we expect from the show. And to have that happen to the biggest mythological episode, maybe in the whole series, is just disappointing.

And there's hardly anything left that hasn't already been answered, whether through inference or direct explanation.

You know when you get the feeling of being relaxed or happy or whatever, and your holy body kinda just tingles and goes numb for a sec? Just had that.
It's amazing how much a musical cue can do to you.
