Lost Ark is doing crazy numbers.

Do you guys think i will be able to buy a founder pack once this releases? Want to see 1st how well this will play on my hardware.

Unless your tech is WOEFULLY old you should be fine.

. . .as to the question, you have about 2 hours before they go away.

Why should I get a Founders pack?
Honestly, you are fine without them. It offers things like exclusive pet, a little extra money, and 30 days of the premium service.
The premium service is totally optional and really not much of an advantage. Game plays just fine without it.

Why should I get a Founders pack?

At this point? There is no point. You were going to get it for the headstart and a few extra cosmetics or in-game currency. It Here is what you get from the uber-pack:

3-day Head start
7,000 Royal Crystals
Founder's Exclusive Mount
Founder's Exclusive Pet
Founder's Exclusive Skin
Founder's Skin
Character Expansion Slot
Founder's Title
Founder's Exclusive Wallpaper
Founder's Exclusive Structure
Legendary Rapport Gift Selection Chest
Launch Limited Card Pack
60 Resurrection Feathers
50,000 silver
5 Adventurer's Equipment Crates
Gatherer's Tool Chest
Hero's Ascent Chest (Level 20)
Hero's Ascent Chest (Level 30)
Hero's Ascent Chest (Level 40)
Hero's Ascent Chest (level 50)
30 days of Crystalline Aura benefits

The only thing in there that is a non-nothing are the Royal Crystals and Crystal Aura. Together, you can get both for about 80 bucks in the cash shop. The founders skin is "who cares" in terms of utility, and the silver Card Packs, feathers, Ascent Chest (just contains more silver and potions and shit) and tool chest are all things you get in game (I got the Bronze Pack which only came with the Aura and have like 70 feathers from just playing the game and Twitch drops, though you will get most from playing the game).

. . .long and short, unless you really like Cosmetics, don't bother. This is basically one of those "Character Headstart" type deals that games will give you to make you strong-ish early game (the base game is not difficult).

I watched a ton of letsplays so far. Big chonky beefcake armored muscle dudes just isn't my style. I also don't trust Korean games when it comes to grind vs microtransactions. And games' where you just swirl/smash through hoards of weak minions, just aren't for me.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying it though, esp those who really wanted a Diablo-like game.

Lost Ark seems to have some wicked launch day disruptions. Only 50k online right now.
Blue line is Twitch engagement.

I been playing Lost ark and got to lvl 40. I don't play mobile games. This is 100% a mobile f2p game. Seems like allot of streamer hype and streamers desperate for a game for more content after New World bombed. The power of streamers. Just pay 100 top streamers and get fake hype.

This game will lose 75% of its player base after one month. Once a bunch of streamer move onto something else shinny this game will fall off. Its a mobile game.

I been apart of every big mmo in the last 30 years. My favorites being SWG's then WoW. Not WoW 20 years later but years 1-5.

Even MMO''s that bombed like RIft are 10xs better than Lost Ark.

Don't understand why though. It looks like your next super-generic Diablo clone; not digging the art style at all. I know when people went crazy over Wolcen and it was soon forgotten a week or so later.

If people having fun, more power to them. I don't see it though.

Definitely looks this way, and I was skeptical at first. I will say it's a very very polished game with far more scope and MMO hooks than most ARPGs would have (for better and for worse). A blend of PoE/Diablo and FFXIV is how I'd describe it. But yeah, I'm almost 50 now and pretty hooked. The end game seems pretty grindy so not sure how long it'll last, but it's definitely been worth my time so far.

Question: How fast can I play this with randoms? Or is it mostly singleplayer quest mmo stuff like new world? is there matchmaking / group finder?

nevermind

There were half a million players on the game the moment it released and ZERO Twitch presence. You REALLY think half a million players got on the game just because Asmongold was screaming "Big dick energy. . ."

. . .to say nothing of the people who were jumping through hoops just to play either the Korean client or a horribly translated Russian client?

This has "I've got refined tastes and there must be some other some other reason more people don't have the same impression of the game that I do" up-your-own-ass energy. No offense.

You matchmake lowbie dungeons, but it's pretty much singleplayer until endgame. There's nothing really to co-op until then (or that you need to co-op).

Same thing happened with new world. Thirsty gamer syndrome in full effect.

New World was a new IP that was woefully overhyped. This game is not new. It has been put through the paces for years already. People KNOW what the content is. That is why they are excited to play it with a local, straight forward log-in client.

I mean if the game isn't folks cup of tea that's fine, but this confusion and/or attempt at caveating WHY the game is doing well is just bizarre.

Extended maintenance at release time to delay launch ? LOL Is this a blizzard game?
worse, my good friend, worse: AMAZON GAMES.

Friends told me about this game a few days ago, I looked into it, promptly told them no. I have a hard stance against these games that essentially ask you to dedicate a piece of your life to it to stay current or else you get left behind.

The second games start to feel like a chore or job I lose interest. They've been on it nonstop for the last few days, they work from home, and all I see is "we have to hit level 50 so we can make a new character to keep progressing". I'm like FUCK 👏 THAT 👏 SHIT.

I'll just keep playing Dying Light 2 while I wait for Elden Ring.

I think it's slowly happening? 240k players online and increasing.
but it should have had 1M+ concurrent by now. Valve even avoided putting up a store hero on Steam so they don't exacerbate the launch issues.

Whats happening? The servers haven't been up since 5am EST.

Do you know if they are playing it that much because they genuinely enjoy it or because there are daily/weekly time limited rewards?

I'm sure at this exact moment it's a mixture of both. They're known to be attracted to games where the main attraction is grind for the sake of grind so this is right up their alley. But I've known them for years, they go hard in the beginning, say it's the greatest thing ever, then there's always a steep fall off.

New World just recently was going to be the greatest thing ever...they played it for maybe a month before dropping it, but they played the shit out of it during that month.

I caved and bought the cheapest founders pack earlier this week. Completely forgot that the launch day for paupers was today. Guess i'll have to wait to play again till tomorrow at this rate, lol

Damn that crazy all this games that i never heard of putting up crazy numbers on Steam imagine what Elder Scrolls 6 will do probably 5 million plus on steam day 1

If not even the Lost Ark forum is supporting the amount of hits, imagine the servers when they are put back.

You must be new to MMO's. Launch is almost always a clusterfuck for big releases.
No I'm not, and quit trying to use that sad excuse " you must be new" to defend something you like. MMOs don't delay launch day for maintenance. Grow the fuck up, this isn't normal for ANY mmo on release, pathetic fanboi.

You should be honest and tell me how you really feel.

Just logged on to steam, the game is no where in the top sellers list or anything. I had to search for it in order to download. That is insane that they pulled it from the front page lists because it is too popular haha.

Holy shit. I been looking at some gameplay footage, and the camera work and combat look positively fantastic! Jeez! I'm tempted to get into this one.

You haven't hit end game it seems.

I imagine end game is just running dungeons over and over again for incremental stat increases or PVP, same as New World.

So anyone that quits before end game probably played all the best content anyway...

There's like hundreds of hours of content so no obviously not. The store is accessible though and plenty of info in terms of what the end game entails and while it's clearly time consuming there's little to be gained by spending money.
