Every year that passes reminds me there will never be anything as addicting and enthralling on TV again.

Still tha best. <3

Yeah, nothing really captured that drive to catch it week to week. Even with my favorite shows I'm ok waiting a day or two to catch them on the DVR, but LOST was different and I absolutely had to catch it that night.

That stopped being witty around 10 years ago.

Well Erigu was never witty, so whatever.

Erigu responding to people in this thread is less pathetic than those same people bumping it every week or two.

Why? People still have an interest in the show and others are still watching it for the first time. How is it pathetic to bump the thread to discuss it? Do you want people creating new threads every time a LOST related discussion pops up?

You're the pathetic one here. Insulting people for bumping the thread on the 7th anniversary of the pilot. Fuck off.

Yes. This thread would be "Just saw a rerun of 'Greatest Hits!'" and the thread creator would be banned.

I'd go with "silly"... Telling me to "get a life" when the guy I was replying to basically claimed that TV shows died with Lost? Not the sharpest sniper.

Thanks for defending me, but... Er... How is bumping the topic "pathetic"?

I am doing a re-run of the entire series (finished 3rd season), this time on a big screen tv with surround sound. I am amazed how re-watchable this show is, and not only just re-watchable, the second half of the 3rd season is absolutely thrilling, much better than I had memories of.

And as posters above pointed out, I haven't found anything as captivating as LOST (perhaps Erigu can help ).

True LOST fans took the message of the finale and let go and moved on.
I'm the worst fan ever :(

LOST was captivating when speculation meant something. It's still very rewatchable, though I find the flashbacks really kill it for me now. There are far too many of them early on.

I can't say anything on TV right now or anything I watched gives/gave me a better experience than LOST.

But I live for the next show to amaze me on a very deep level because as I said in the TV vs Film thread it's my favorite medium.

Edit:
I think I pretty much glanced over the posts and only interpreted him praising it as his favorite on the anniversary and you stepping in just to say there's a ton of stuff better.

Erigu, I honestly don't understand you. Do you have this thread bookmarked??? Why do you keep posting in it every time it is bumped and remind everyone of how much you hate the show??

So pathetic.

Why do atheists post in the religion threads?

I'm not an atheist, but LOST hasn't negatively effected the world in any way... or caused someone's mother to deny health treatment. So.. uhm...

I'm subscribed to 100+ topics right now. This is one of them.

I don't hate the show. I think it was deeply stupid, that's about it.
I'd have a bigger problem with the showrunners' attitude.
And an even bigger problem with the fact the scam actually worked for years (and is considered "the bestest show EVAH" by some... oh, the humanity).

Anyway. How do you feel about fans who keep posting in the topic and remind everyone of how much they love the show?

The sensation of liking something is far fulfilling than the feeling of hatred. A stupid person enjoying trashy pop music is living a better life than an intellectual debating the faults of the music and even worse hating the stupid person for enjoying it.

I suppose you are smart enough to get what am hinting at.

(Still with the "hatred", huh?)

(So now I hate both the show and the fans?)

Watching bad movies and bad TV shows is fun (and kinda educational, too). To me and a bunch of other people, anyway.
Watching bad movies and bad TV shows be praised as the best thing(s) ever is another matter though...

Mawaru-Penguindrum is quite good. So far, anyway.
Usagi Drop and Steins;Gate ended last week, but that's still fairly "current", right?
Ah, so that's where those gifs of that little penguin character come from? And it's actually supposed to be good, huh? I'll check it out, I guess.

I've said before that anime/manga is not really my thing, but whatever. Wouldn't hurt to try...

Yes. But do people normally talk about it weekly for a year and counting?

Most probably.

It's an original story, so there's always the possibility they'll fuck it up in the end (episode 11 out of 24 aired a few hours ago). But Ikuhara (the showrunner) has a fine track record, so fingers are crossed and all that.

I've said before that anime/manga is not really my thing, but whatever. Wouldn't hurt to try...
Well, if you're not used to that kind of productions, the show might just give you an aneurysm.
If you want to play it a bit safer, you could also try stuff like... say, Mushishi, Planetes, Môsô Dairinin/Paranoia Agent, Yojôhan Shinwa Taikei/The Tatami Galaxy, Hôrô Musuko/Wandering Son...

Now, now, it's been almost three weeks since the last time!

You mean...Erigu?

Man, I almsot thought this Erigu thread was gonna be about Lost. Close call guys, glad we have good enough modding to stamp out people trolling the Erigu thread with self-fellating Lost posts.

What episodes is everyone watching for Lost Day?

Edit: Edited out jabs at Erigu, waste of time.
I kind of have the urge to watch Exodus. I haven't watched the raft launch in years.

My last rewatch stalled out at season 5 and I don't think I'll make it to the end. I love seasons 1-4 for various reasons, but once S5 hits the Sayid in jail crap I find it difficult to watch.

But even in light of how it ended, I would agree that watching Lost was one of the best experiences to have graced TV. It doesn't hold up well to scrutiny, but it was an absolute roller coaster and I was drooling for each new episode.

As much as I loved more respected (and certainly better-written) shows The Sopranos or The Wire, I wasn't losing my mind trying to figure out what would happen next week. I guess Lost had a unique ability to capture the imagination, even if it was so myopically dedicated to that sole purpose that it wasn't able to add up to much.

I find it funny that someone who is so critical of LOST, to the point where you think he hated it, has the most posts in this thread with over 600,

Welp, now that this thread has turned into the very thing that's kept me out of it for over a year, I'm out again. Nice seeing you guys!

Well, it's a hell of a lot easier to pile up the intriguing! phenomenons and twists when you're not interested in having them make sense in the end...

My heart yearns for expanded universe...

Graphic novel? Yes please.
What are some of the subjects you'd wanna see expanded on the most?

They could conceivably do stuff about: The formation of Dharma; Trying to flesh out the Others' culture; The Egyptians; Previous Island Guardians; Island life post-The End. Maybe even just short stories about various no-name castaways throughout the ages. A lot of avenues they could take.

I loved Lost too but lol @ people acting like everything is downhill from the show ending.

The Wire >>> The Sopranos >>> Breaking Bad >>> The Shield >>> Lost
