Lost: Via Domus...

Really? How is that implemented into the game?

Well, what happens in the game's end hadn't happened in the TV series yet when the game was released.
I mean, there was no "oops, we went back in time" back on the season when the game was launched.

Plotwise? I don't think it'll be actually related to the series' canon.

Nice of you to spoiler that bud.

The funny thing is that didn't even happen.

I mean I haven't played the game. I was curious as to what happened. How did it end?

I'm a Lost fan and watched out of boredom even when it was getting bad. That being said, it was mildly interesting to see the characters in the game universe.

It's not a great game, but certainly not the worst game I've played and definitely not the worst licensed game out there. A short game to go through the motions and get easy achievement points from. :D

Oh, my bad, I didn't understand at first. Well,
Elliot (your character) manages to escape the island on a small boat, just in time for the Swan station's self-destruction. Weird sound, purple skies and all.

He sees the Oceanic 815 flying above him and cracking, there's this blackout and he's back to the crash site - but this time, the woman whose death was Elliot's fault is alive and by his side
.

As you might think, it's not very obvious to link with the series' canon. Or is it?

I have 1000 achievement points and completed the game 100%. ONLY buy this game if you LOVE Lost. I mean, love it. If you're totally into the world, it's a fun 5-6 hour romp, and an easy 1000 achievement points. You can get the game for $9.99 shipped from newegg, brand new, so it's a cheap 5-6 hours of entertainment.

As to if this looks better than Uncharted? That's a joke. There's no way that anyone could make that claim with a straight face. There's so much more going on in Uncharted, and the forest scenes in lost are like tiny little tunnels, compared to a lot of the open spaces in Uncharted. I really can't believe that Kleppek even remotely tried to compare the two. Lost is a decent looking game, and the jungle looks great, but Uncharted beats it on a lot of levels.

The main reason Lost is a fun game for Lost fans is because it makes the Lost world a more cohesive place. Taking the trip to the different Dharma stations and then wandering around the hatch etc is just fun and interesting. Plus the fuse puzzles are actually pretty decent.

I talked to one of the developers of this game once. Basically they had 6 months to make it and were told not able to use much of the characters or story of the show. When they got the license they really got a desert island and had to build a game on it.

As a Lost completest I just watched the cutscenes and skipped buying the game. The ending kinda made me feel I'd just wasted by time. Take a look if you're curious and it's cheap.

Oh and Juliet's real voice actress is present too.

I believe you should play it after completing season 3. It covers some areas you haven't really seen in the series, with a bit more detail. My friend who played it basically said it was a "what if" scenario, so anything that it implies shouldn't really be considered "canon". Also, you should know that none of the actors did voices for the game, which gives you AWESOME scenes like this:

HAahha oh god, Lockes voice actor.

:lol

I'm a huge LOST fan but the game is awful. After about 15 minutes you recognise it was programed without love for the show. The achievements on 360 version are quite epic though (photograph numbers on the hatch...). I played through it just to see all the locations, it was pretty fun exploring the hatch but all in all it was boring the most of the time. Very easy 1000 G on 360 version, it took about 5 hours with achievement guide from xbox360achievements.org.

I picked it up for 10 euros (14.5005 USD), it's not worth more I think.

Hopefully the prospect of exploring some of the most beautifully rendered virtual jungle landscapes burned to a disc (rivaling and surpassing the mighty Uncharted: Drake's Fortune in some cases -- oh, yes, I went there) - Patrick Klepek

WHAT?

Man, it's weird to remember this game 1 year after Lost ended. It's insane to see where the series actually headed instead of what this game seemed to suggest. Still, I'd recommend any Lost fan to play it as a time piece.

I'm disappointed I never played through this game, I really wanted to but I was always terrified of spoilers surrounding it.

I'll save it for my next LOST marathon.

Your first link is exactly what I was gonna post XD.

Edit: Whoah, didn't realise I was replying to a 2 year old post.

Hahaha yeah I never would have recommended the game before, but now that it has utterly no connection to the actual show I'd be more likely to recommend it.

That's a shameless kick. Anyway, thought about picking this up, but I rather go to the Lost island in Just Cause 2, I mean the whole frigging island is in that game, free to explore for yourself (supposedly, my copy is on the way..).

What's so surprising? Lost can compare favorably to Uncharted 2.
I like where this thread is headed.

Because it can't be worse than where Lost went after Season 1.

Every time I see this game for dirt cheap in a store, I'm tempted, just for a moment, by my inner Lost fan to get it. Then I remember the game looks freaking horrible.

Those two youtube links were hilarious! Locke, hahahahaha!

I played this back when it was first released, it's pretty decent. Nothing fancy though.

If your a Lost fan it's worth paying the few quid you will probably be able to pick it up for now.

It's really not that bad, all in all I enjoyed it quite a bit.

One low rest unflattering shot of a fast moving train level vs probably the best I have ever seen lost via domus look low res of a narrow jungle. This is more like the standard

I'm pretty sure people were saying around the time of release that they liked it and that it looked as good/better than Uncharted.

I chose it because it has jungle. Here are a few more.

huge lost fan and i kinda enjoyed the game. easy achievements too. game takes place during the first 3 season.

I've been eyeing it on Steam just because I'm a huge Lost fan. I watched a few scenes and it was funny to hear the VA's poor imitations of the actors, but it looked kind lousy. I'll bite at $2.50 but the publisher probably has forgotten about this game.

Which is nice, because I think that if Lost had ended with the season 3 finale, it would be a much better show. If I could unsee seasons 5 and 6 I would.
Season 4 was still kind of okay, but the season 3 finale is a perfect ending to the show. If I ever rewatch Lost, that's where I'll stop. And hopefully I won't remember most of the nonsense we saw in the late seasons.
