I started watching Lost yesterday after borrowing my parent's copies of the seasons, at episode 10 of S1 and I'm really liking it right now! So how much long until the mythology start to come out?

I don't care what anyone says, the first season of Lost is some of the most captivating television ever.

Never watched it and never will. I heard that somewhere along the show a massive statue of a foot is on the island. wtf. I thought it would be more like cast-away not prison break. (Disclaimer: I thought prison break would be about a prison break, not a government conspiracy...) :(((

Loved the series. Writers did a good job making shit up and fucking with fans.

I've avoided getting into Lost discussions on GAF, but I'll just say that I loved the series to the end, and I hope you will too. Of course there will be some disappointment about certain things, but overall I thought it was a great journey.

I was once obsessed with this show and thought it was the greatest most imaginative thing ever-and now I essentially roll my eyes when I hear mention of the show. That's how much the final season changed my opinion of the show.

you're in danger of being spoiled bad by making this thread. i'd stop reading.

keep watching

Yep. Finish the show, formulate your own opinions/theories, and... well I was about to say "and then get back on GAF about it" but ehhh... maybe you should just watch it and leave it at that.

Lost will always be a little special to me. I don't normally watch tv, but when Lost was on I was on the couch watching it.

I'd stop after Episode 1 and pretend that's the real ending.

And miss out on Walkabout (Episode 4), the best episode of the entire series? For shame.

The first season is spectacular, and they keep the carrot dangled in front of you for the next two seasons. You may feel yourself being pulled out of it in season 3, but the ending to 3 is all kinds of awesome. Season 4 is the second best, after season 1. Seasons 5 and 6 are just okay, and the finale was a major let down. But there are some spectacular moments and episodes in the final two seasons.

Watching Lost is an amazing and emotional journey. To it's downfall, however, you can't help but build up this earth-scattering vision of the destination. It's a vision the show can't possibly live up to.

Pretty much this. I definitely enjoyed the time I spent watching LOST, even if it retrospect the show wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be.

It was just a throwaway sarcastic quip about people telling you to stop watching after a certain point. There are great moments and episodes in every season. The Constant is the best episode and it's in season 4. Hell, even in season 6,
Richard's origin story was like a movie and made for one of the best episodes in the series.

The Constant was fantastic, but I will always have a soft spot for Walkabout. That episode was where I got hooked real bad. Dat ending when it first aired. Totally out of nowhere, yet it was so obvious from watching the episode.

There are so many great parts and things in Lost, but the final episode just diminished the entire series for me. The journey is incredible, but the destination is a profound disappointment.

I just got my girlfriend to start watching Lost because she said she needed a new show (she's one of those people that goes through entire series on DVD in a couple months) and was threatening to start watching 90210.

Now every day I get texts like "Oh my gosh Michael just hit Locke".

Lost is awesome.

When people I know start watching Lost and ask about how it is as a whole, I use an example from Princess Bride. When Inigo asks the Man in Black who he is and he wont answer, he follows it with "Get used to disappointment."

Really, such a frustrating ending. It is not horrible, but it is not great either. It was just there, and I think it hurts more because the journey to get to it was so good.

You will benefit for not having to wait 8 months to get the next episode. That shit was fucking killer when they did that for season 3-6

I recently watched this for the first time. Season 1 was amazing, but everything after that was a series of pretty good highs and terrible lows.

Just wanted to add as well the Sawyer is my favorite character right now and that its annoying that all the other characters besides from Kate think of him as an asshole. One of the funniest/sarcastic characters I've seen on TV in a while.

As the biggest LOST fan in the world: cherish it while it lasts.

it stops at different places for different people, so just hold on tight as long as you can and enjoy the greatest show ever made

Watch all of it. Don't listen to Negative-GAF. LOST is a great series.

This is true. Even if the ending is underwhelming, it is still a fantastic series. The highs the show achieves are VERY high, and there are not really any really abysmal lows. But the fact that the highs are so high makes the misfires hurt that much more.

Watch until the end of S3 and then stop

Huh? That's like telling some to go to the end of Season 2 of Breaking Bad and then stop.

Except Lost gets better after Season 3.

This is true but it still was a show that had a lot of fantastically written characters, and that was enough to carry it despite the bullshit mythology, imo.

Lost is the really hot hooker who you get into your hotel room only to discover she has a dick.
