LTTP: MGS V ground zeroes..gameplay is amazing

i dont get why many gamers complain about optional game mechanics

fulton is completely optional

I wouldn´t call it optional, how am i supposed to get the coolest weapons, gadgets, etc without recruiting soldiers? or protect my base from invaders?
I guess i could just use whatever i find in the missions but in the end, you´re just depriving yourself of a lot of stuff.
Reflex and tagging are optional game mechanics.
Btw you gave me cool idea for a "No recruit" challenge run when the game comes out,so thank you :P

Resource management, building a base and your crew is part of the gameplay, for better or worse.

I mean, purist who dislikes the fulton gameplay will simply have to unfortunately, replay missions. Finish the first time round without Fulton, then replay missions, this time, with Fulton.

Saying the fulton is optional is almost like saying weapons are not a requirement. It's obvious the game is built around it and you will need it at some point.

The game is built around the reflex mode as well but at least it can be avoided entirely, if Ground Zeroes is anything to go by.

so will Konami balance Fulton then in TPP

was it balanced in PW?

It's about as balanced as perma-hold up/lie down, which is 'it's effing broken in practice', but it somehow works in the context of the whole game.

Put it this way. Half the fun/annoyance of PW is basically grinding through 5-15 minute missions, fulton-ing everyone, to get the best soldiers for your base. From the context of resource gathering, fulton's made to be as easy to use as possible, and it's definitely broken in that context, but the game is still plenty challenging.

I never understood the hatred for this game. It was well worth its price be it digital or physical on xbone/PS4. I felt that the amount of replay value it had was ridiculously good, as I've spent probably more than 50-60 hours on it. I still need to unlock that Gray Fox and Solid Snake costume for Deja Vu. Also, Jemais Vu is so much fun. I love this game.

yeah but reflex mode being in means instant alerts being in. I just want for guards to have to use a radio to call in an intruder again.
As much as I want Fulton to be reigned in, I want THIS to be addressed.

And this...

I honestly think I'm going to play the game without using the Fulton at all for my first time through. Unless everyone within a half a mile sees/hears the balloon going up, it'll completely ruin the vibe for me.

The last MGS game I played before GZ was Substance.

GZ felt very much like a Splinter Cell game to me in certain ways, and that's a very welcome thing.

I just started playing this game. It looks and plays awesome. I did chuckle the 1st time I heard Keifer's Snake voice, it reminded me of Senor Cardgage for some reason.

I got it on a sale a while ago and have played a decent amount of it. It's awesome and the PC version is pretty good. My only real complaint is the terrible pop-in the game suffers from.

by the way is GZ the first game to implement single shot cutscenes...i actually like them, makes cutscenes more interesting
This is indeed interesting and makes the cutscenes feel as if the viewer is right there in the middle of the action.

According to Hideo:
Freedom is important as MGSV is real sneaking simulator, thus most of the cutscenes are taken by one shot in order to connect to game play.
