Luke Perry on the cover of AARP is the new litmus test of how old you feel

You're a sly one, AARP.
The group's magazine brought about an age-related panic attack among fans of the Aaron Spelling drama, "Beverly Hills, 90210" last week, when it wished actor Luke Perry a happy 50th birthday.
The social media team whipped up a "Special Birthday Cover" and (snarkily?) stated, "Welcome to the 902-5-OH."
Oof.
Perry, of course, played Dylan McKay on the '90s hit TV show, as the "bad boy" of the group. Perry became a favorite with viewers of the show and often graced the covers of teenage magazines, such as "Seventeen" and "Teen Beat." (This, despite being 24 years old at the time of the show, CNET pointed out.)
But it seems that plenty of people were not pleased about being reminded not only of Perry's age, but of their own mortality.

So hey, I'm old.

i've been begging for over 5 years.
Thanks for reminding all of us how old we are. Only a handful of years before I too can be an AARP member.

20s and 30s. That's just how it was done back then.

That's still how it's done.

The DUFF came out last year, and is about high school kids. It Stars May Whitman and Robbie Amell (both 28 currently, and probably 26 when the film was shot).

This is probably the oldest I've ever felt. This moment right now

For me, it was when Smallville ended and I learned Tom Welling was only several years older than me. When it began I was just leaving high school. Watched that show through college, when I got my first real job, during the evolution of my career. When it ended I was an adult, in debt, unrecognizable to myself.

I could imagine how this feels to people older than me. I am pretty sure I was in elementary school when 90210 came out. I've only seen one episode. The upside is that these actors were damn near thirty for the most part playing high school kids.....

God that was a dreadful show. I remember talking to an American friend of mine about a scene in which one of the (multiple) bland blondes was reading out her essay in English class and it was the most basic shit you'd expect a kid to crap out at age five. And her stupid English teacher was nodding eagerly, smiling and encouraging her in her ridiculously basic writing. I remember the stuff I was doing in studying English for my Leaving Cert at the time, when she was supposedly the same age I was, and it is laughable the difference between the two. I just remember that because a good friend of mine in America was laughing along with me at the absurd basic level of it.

In fact I'm pretty sure that's all I remember of that show, despite it playing often on TV back then. Happy birthday to Luke Perry I guess.

You can see Luke Perry's dick if you watch Oz

he's like a naked ghost that haunts the prison or something

They
buried him alive by bricking him up in a wall.
He came back as a ghost? I think I never watched the ridiculous last season.

Brenda was such a great character. So warm and friendly and intelligent and often getting the short end of the stick.

Such a great 90s role model for women.

I remember watching daily reruns of 90210 during the early 2000's...for some reason. I remember nothing, other than Brenda being hot as fuck.
