LUNAR Remastered Collection launches April 18 (available both physically and digitally)

"only ships within Canada"

Oh Come On GIF
I hope this doesn't become a trend moving forward 😕....

Can someone please help me obtain an Xbox physical version of this game for my collection please?

I genuinely really want this game physically, I'm not sure if it's because off all the new tariffs or something. (But both Amazon (USA version) and vgp won't let me order this game to the UK, despite having no issues ordering from either site in the past)

But I live in the UK, where it is not getting physical release, and I love lunar.

It's actually driving me mad. 😭

eBay let's you order internationally.

I got several special editions from Australia this way. 🦘

Any kind gafferes want to help me get an Xbox physical version here in the UK? (Obviously I'll pay for the game and packaging/postage etc)

I've emailed both VGP & Amazon and they won't send to the UK (apparently their suppliers won't allow it)

I am still so baffled why Gungho and Amazon are just not allowing people to preorder this. I have to sit and refresh on release day for some stupid reason.

Just looked and no Xbox listings on eBay ATM :(
The game hasn't released here in the US, and they're not doing pre-orders. So I'd say check back after the 18th and there will probably be some listings.

It literally says they won't ship to the UK, I also emailed vgp who do have it up, and they said their supplier says they are not allowed to sell outside Canada, super annoying!

I'll try again on the 18th, but I'm not optimistic as the message is, they won't deliver to my address. 😅

Oh, I meant check eBay listings after the 18th

I was going to check when I woke up in the morning. If it's available, great. If it's not, I'll pick it up on sale digitally later for $30 or less.

More than that. Something feels off about the music (and the graphics really...) Hmm
Tired Pirate GIF by Pirate's Parley's Parley
I was going to get this since I love remasters of old games that I missed out on back in the day, but the more I hear about this the less appealing it sounds. For example, they're not using the best version of the game, the games difficulty is easier than the originals, they don't have all the original voice acting, the graphics are not from the best version, etc

Why can't remasters ever just deliver what most gamers are asking for out if them? Pay for the damn music rights, use the best version of the game, stop putting ugly filters over the visuals with no option to change it, and most of all stop fucking with the difficulty to make them "accessible" to "modern audiences". Aside from the music it shouldnt be THAT hard to get a freakin remaster correct!

Recently the Lollipop Chainsaw remaster was poor and then a big one that I was hyped for, Suikoden 1+2, made half the graphics pixel art and half the assets these cheap looking hand drawn assets which looks really bad...if the original game was all pixel art then the damn remasters should be. Mario RPG remake was dumbest down, thousand years Door was made more forgiving in its timed action prompts during combat, Sonic Origins butchered the music, and Until Dawn removed the ENTIRE original soundtrack! Then there was the GTA trilogy which was an abomination.

As of me typing this it's still available on Amazon. I woke up at 3am EST to pee and it wasn't available, but was at 6:30 EST and I grabbed a copy.

PS4 version currently showing as sold out.

Still available for Switch and Xbox
We knew this would happen. Switch probably is a significantly higher print run which is why it's still in stock and xbox is well xbox. Let's hope they actually stick to their word and keep printing while demand remains high.

Hopefully GungHo did a better job with this than Grandia remaster. Updates fixed some of the biggest issues but the launch was pretty rough.

The only place I can grab a physical ps4 copy they're charging 79.99$ instead of 66.99$ on psn. Ridiculous

Aaaannd Gone...Switch version.

Xbox owners, Get it while you can...😅
Picked up Switch version earlier off Amazon. GungHo was swearing up and down they will continue printing if they sell out. Let's see if they will keep to their word.

I really don't understand this approach.

Same man, I knew they didn't have the sufficient stock count by going through just ONE retailer...through ALL of USA?? 😂

That was a pipe dream for those that waited....there's always the potential 2nd print. 🤷‍♂️

Yep, it's really weird. Look at Suikoden, ton of stock everywhere. It's the same with DQ3 or FF Collection.

Did they really think 5K copies or whatnot was enough for all of US?

Certainly underestimated but they are going to do an additional run of copies.

So the elephant in the room is that these games may not shine for others who didn't experience them back in the Sega CD / PS1 days. I think the games still hold up, but in the same way that people who play Chrono Trigger now for the first time don't understand the hype, people aren't going to be blown away by this.

Lunar 1 is a very classic good vs evil anime story, Lunar 2 is a little more nuanced and mature, characters are a little more gray and the story is better because of it.
One can argue if the final villian in Lunar 1 is truly evil or just being disillision over the loss of his friend. Lunar 2 is more clear cut about it but the twist and turn of the mid level villian is good.

Yeah, SS's villain was much more nuanced. Actually one of my favorite JRPG villains of all time because it's easy to understand his pov. The final villain in EB was another "kill evil god," which eh...

I hope so. Their Twitter was full of this endlessly.

Not a "limited release" but sorry for the current "limited availability". :pie_thinking: It almost seems like there is some kind of way to gauge interest ahead of time if you allowed someone prior to release to place orders.

The good thing about EB is not truly the final villian, it was all about Lucia growth and the interaction with character and the new 4 hero and the fight againist them

Honestly... it's a bit shit. They should just call it a "re-release" instead of pretending it's a "remaster", you're better off just firing up an emulator than paying for this zero effort release. Gungho really spares all expense and effort in making these things.

Didn't they redo a ton of stuff though? Everything from voice acting, script translations, music, art assets, cleaned up Animated scenes and gameplay tweaks.

Anyways, got my physical copy! Love the game. It even includes the classic original game for the purists.
