Lunatic on Reddit: "Reddit, I think there is a giant (nuclear) coverup afoot."

It's funny, I mocked this thread before I left for work. Then on the drive in I saw an incredible amount of vapor trails (from jet planes) in the sky this morning.

::dons reflective hat::

I live relatively close to one of the biggest nuclear power plants in the united states in terms of energy output. Worst case scenario is 3-4k in casualties.

Underground weapons testing in violation of test ban treaties.

Calling it now.

this shit is crazy, i had a kanagaroo get realllllly close to me on my walk home from the gym. it bounced and just started into my soul from 2 meters away.

He was thinking of fighting you, but then realized you just came from the gym, so you must be one tough dude.

According to the actual source, it was a false alarm:

http://digitaljournal.com/article/326186#ixzz1x7nCiIhf

The alert level reading last evening appears to be a false alert from an equipment malfunction. Here is the station's report:
"out of control readings on the GeigerGraph screen from about 11:30pm local time that occurred while sleeping. My apologies to all. I have no idea what caused this. Shut down GeigerGraph and restarted. Readings from the Geiger were in the normal range (the Geiger operates on A/C). All cable connections are tight and not loose. Am speculating between the GFI and USB Adapter and some sort of voltage spikes. The uninterruptable power supply UPS had lost power and had died - a tripped GFI. I am not going to leave the system running while not at home until I can determine and fix the problem."

A part of this reminded me of this absolute gem from years ago: http://youtu.be/8Sq-VmBMHkw
Oh my God! Thank you so much for this.

"Not just around our Sun and our Moon anymore." -wut?

This comment on the video killed me:

It was a race of hyper-intelligent crocodile-Jews messing with your water.

If there was a nuclear explosion/release the particles released would be easily detected by other countries i.e Canada (almost straight away) then European countries later this week.

So i'm guessing false alarm because there is no way that nuclear release of any kind can be covered up by one country.

The Illuminati are all in it together silly rabbit.

Well if it's on Reddit it's probably accurate. Those Redditors are all about Science!

You know Science! Science! is where you get Schrodinger's Cat comics and you watch Neil deGrasse Tyson, and you repost things about Mars and Black Holes. Science! is the coolest. Actually learning about it and applying critical thinking sucks but with Science! you are smarter and better than those non-Science! thinkers.

Hey guys, lets watch a Carl Sagan show and talk about how much we understand it because we love Science!

as bitter as this is, I can appreciate it. i always say posters on reddit need "Logic!" more than they need science. and I always get downvoted.

The problem with that site is when a sub-group gets loud enough, they start repping that group like it's all of reddit, with no conception of how many varied people read that site. But I customized my subreddits and preferences to only show the good stuff and its a wonderful site for me now.

Forwarded the reddit thread to someone in the NNSA, figured they could use a good laugh on a Friday morning.

He had a good laugh and said something along the lines of not be able to hide radiation leaks where the amount is concerning.

So, at the moment, nothing to see folks, reddit hyperbole and circle jerking ahoy.

Okay, this is stupid but I'm going to ask it anyways.

At my house we've hearing these small explosions pretty much every day. It happens a couple times a day and as far as I can tell it's been happening for two or three weeks. Is this probably just blasting around my area? I have no idea where they would be doing it. Sometimes it's not that noticable... kind of sounds like our garage door opening, and other times I can feel it in my feet and it's pretty loud.

This is probably just blasting around my area, right? I thought that at first but it's been happening for more than two weeks and I was wondering if this is normal.

Where do you live? If you live in Syria...it is perfectly normal.

What is the significance of this photo? I see three Chinooks and what might be a Black Hawk, but why is that indicative of anything? No context.

That said, I live on the coast. There is a large military presence here in SoCal. There are Navy bases in San Diego, Camp Pendleton is nearby, Vandenberg and Edwards AFBs are also nearby. So seeing military activity around here, particularly along the coastline, is common. That said, I have noticed an increase - I've been seeing a lot of Chinooks flying back and forth, recently. I've also been hearing some very heavy aircraft flying over late at night at fairly low altitudes. That's actually more unusual because there are restrictions on that. The planes are definitely military, they sound like heavy transports. Probably C-5s or C-17s.

It's probably nothing, but it is kind of worth mentioning. I'd thought that perhaps it had to do with the President's recent visit out here, but maybe not.

Nashville, Tennessee. I mean, it's not hugely loud. Things in my house don't shake or anything, but you can definitely hear it distinctly and like I said sometimes I can feel it in my feet.

I can confirm that the Seattle area has already turned into a Fallout-esque wasteland. Super Mutants are roaming around en masse!
