Well he said 720p... Where would you take you content otherwise? Remember, Apple is into offering "legal" solution if they want the movies studios to march along...
 
iTV is cool, and I'm sure it'll integrate with OS X and iTunes extremely smoothly and easily like all their products do, but like most Apple products, it's too expensive for what it does (40gig only?!). I'll stick with my modded xbox. :)

i think you can play HD streams from your computer - you just can't purchase any from iTunes. i don't think any of the wireless formats other than 802.11n can handle the bandwidth though.

Exactly. You have to get HD content from somewhere, and it has to be legal for Apple to get it's deals done, and MacRumors mentioned the quality of the video.

Well, better order a 5G iPod while they're still available. I hate touchscreen crap.
