Mad Max: Fury Road took 30 years to make.
Well it was supposed to begin filming in 2001, so actually it took 14 years to make. Still...eat shit Boyhood.

God damn that was a good film. I mean, I had expectations, yeah, but I didn't expect this. It was like an adrenaline-rush straight into my veins - so perfectly shot, such a visual feast... And so, so visceral. THIS is how you do CGI, folks. You make it add flavor and visual touches, but you keep the central action grounded with practical effects, so that - no matter how freaky - it looks believable. And Mad Max looked absolutely believable, even though it was probably the craziest visual ride I have seen since... Well... I can't even remember.
Thanks for your feedback guys; I saw some of the movies you mentioned but man still have a lot of embarassing gaps to fill..

I'm with the 99% that liked it, you just can't say that this movie is bad, it's actually well made and unique. I mean, we're not used to this kind of movies anymore, people (me included) are accustomed to movies explaining everything while this instead just throws you there. You don't even know what's the matter about people, I wanted to explore that world so much more! And instead Fury Road is really the longest car chase ever made. Even if you don't like the typical car chase (I normally hate it) this delivers.
So the only thing I didn't like was that I didn't feel involved in the story, the structure of the movie is so particular that I hardly felt attached to the characters. That's why I need to see it again, becuase I approached it with the wrong mood and it feels like a movie that gets better everytime.

What an adrenaline-rush. I were probably holding my breath at some points, but after the movie, I could feel that was a very intense experience. I loved the character development, and how the whole world-building worked out with not much dialogue.
I don't know what more to say. I enjoyed the soundtrack tremendously, which I rarely do in movies, and it's surely the best movie I have seen this year so far.

Weird as fuck for a start!
In terms of the action it's shot very differently. Lots of speeded up shots which make it look almost like an old silent movie. I imagine some people will hate that.
The action is almost quite slapstick too. People or things kind of bounce from one scenario to another causing a chain of chaotic events.

I wasn't feeling it at first, but as it progressed it just became more and more awesome. Excellent movie, will definitely watch again. Some of the later actions scenes had me rolling.

It's really nothing like current blockbusters. I mean, sure it has a couple of A-list actors, a big budget and it makes the most out of modern film-making technology. But it terms of style, story, dialogue, characters, exposition....it's very different. Jarringly so at first. It's like a mad, wacky, cult classic action film from a different era but injected with a Hollywood budget and with a genius at the helm.

Just came back. After the hype I expected a lot but the movie still managed to blow me away. Easily the best action flick in years. Great actors, amazing sound(track), mindblowing stunts and just the right amount of gore without overdoing it.

People are only loving this movie because it's their first time in a long while they've seen a movie with mostly practical FX and stunts rather than CGI. All they see at the cinema are mediocre superhero movies. Filthy casuals.

I think that it comes down to a matter of tastes. The movie is objectively good like someone said before but some people could still dislike the setting/story.
Last movie I watched was Django Unchained in 2013, your argument is invalid.

People are used to being disappointed by the endless cycle of hype. This is one of those extremely rare occasions where the thing being hyped actually is that good.

Going to the 3D showing tonight. Can't wait.
Movie is so chaotic, yet well crafted at the same time. So many twists in the action scenes, had me grinning all the way. Max got shit done like a boss, took out a warboys for fun. Furiosa was a badass, Theron should do more action.
Stunts were absolutely mental, props to the stuntmen/women. Loved Nux humour, he was fucking chrome!
Holkenberg score pumped me up through out, and got real emotional in the quite scenes. Miller is a mad genius. A mastermind. Definite rewatch. 10/10

I used to, and normally agree with him. I still think that Kingsman is a better movie if we're talking about 2015 but Fury Road is a close second.
