That goes to Bryan cranston losing last year.

Ughhh I forgot he lost to Damien Lewis. lol

You know the only reason he didn't win is because he already won 3 times and they wanted to give it to the newcomer, but Cranston was never more deserving that time and it's the one time he didn't win lol.

Also Jon Hamm losing to Kyle Chandler the prior year even though he submitted "The Suitcase" and Chandler won only because the Emmy's felt bad for ignoring him for 5 years. :/

I wonder how many voters vote based on the season of work even though they are supposed to vote based on a single submission episode...

That was a god tier Emmy moment. Hamm probably thought he had it in the bag since Cranston wasn't eligible and Coach Taylor came in and swiped it from him. So good.

FNL really deserved the Emmy for Best Writing that year though. I'm convinced that there will never be a series finale as good as "Always" (mainly because I have a sneaking suspicion that the finales for both Breaking Bad and Mad Men, the only competition as far as writing quality goes, will thoroughly piss off their fanbases).

Did Chandler deserve his Emmy? ...Maybe not.

But it wasn't anywhere near the injustice of that one-note Damian Lewis winning. Claire Danes is a force of nature, and Lewis should be thanking her, along with Jesus, for giving him another day.

I agree.

Yeah, Damien Lewis winning was a fucking joke.

If Homeland wins anything this year, I will be incredibly pissed. Homeland's second season was a complete trainwreck.

I expect it to sweep everything.

Well, Mad Men wasn't exactly in best form this year, so I won't be too mad if it gets the cold shoulder. Not sure there was a single episode I'd rank in the Top 5 or even Top 10 of MM history.

Homeland or House of Cards? Or both lol?

No one should feel bad if House of Cards wins some awards. Especially for Spaceys perfromance, and some of the cinematography. I don't think it's the best show around but it is pretty solid stuff.

Homeland was just a big pile of shit this year.

Yeah I enjoyed House of Cards.

I've yet to watch any Homeland. I was going to catch up when S2 was airing, but I heard it was kind of a mess, so I was discouraged.

House of Cards was great, though I wouldn't classify it as elite television.

However, Emmy voters go nuts when legit movie actors show up in TV shows. I'll be shocked if Spacey doesn't win this year.

Yeah I'd classify House of Cards in a group just below the elite group of TV shows. Spacey was great, I'm sure he'll get nominated and wouldn't be shocked if he wins, although there are more deserving wins than him I think.

plus, dat Fincher. I'm all for Fincher winning shit, even if his influence on the series is likely pretty light.

is Breaking Bad eligible for anything this year? How is AMC dealing with the half seasons with submissions?

The emmys is to broad and gets to comfortable in nominating and having the same winners year over years. :/

Yeah Fincher is incredible, and unfortunately it was painfully obvious that it wasn't him shooting after those first two episodes.

Yeah season "5A" of Breaking Bad is eligible, should be a major player at the Emmys.

I wonder if they rotate who votes for the winners each year.

Because no matter the varying quality of television's best shows year after year, I can't imagine that there's much room for mass migration from one show to another from one year to the next except in, well, exceptional cases.

Don't you like Hamm?

Sure, but I'm fine with him never winning. I mean it would be a travesty if he was losing in the days when Spader was winning for Boston Legal, but there's no shame in losing to Cranston, Chandler, or Lewis.

I expect it to sweep everything.

I think Danes wins again for sure, even though Tatiana Maslany deserves it, and if Spacey doesn't win for House of Cards I could see Lewis repeating even though his performance was really weak in some of the episodes he didn't submit. What Homeland really has going for it is that there are a few really great episodes in the first half of the season so it won't be a surprise if it does quite well again.

I really hope House of Cards doesn't win anything. It was quite bad, and Spacey's performance was hammy as hell.

Your crazy-ass fan theory of the day:

- Where Don Draper ends, D.B. Cooper begins

I like this theory a lot, but it seems extremely unlikely to me. Airlines feature prominently in the show because they featured prominently in the times. And I really don't think Don would (a) plan a heist like this, in so much detail, or (b) have the knowledge of aviation or the plane necessary for it. They seem to go out of their way to show Don being anxious about flight.

However, I could totally see this being a real life event that works into the show's last season, especially for the way it reflects on Don and the falling man in the intro.

Damien Lewis winning was well-deserved. Like or hate the show, he's been amazing in the role. In fact, given the come-and-go quality of the writing, I'd say he carries it half the time.

I'd say his acting is fine (in spite of the horrible writing), but he's certainly not performing at a Cranston/Hamm/Chandler level.

Ted to be the actual D.B Copper?

He was good, but Cranston season 4 was amazing, even ignoring Crawl Space. He had so many great moments that season.

Finally watched the entire season. It might just be my favourite. Hamm was incredible in almost every single episode. Also with every new season i love Campbell more and more. I would not mind seeing Don and Pete starting their own agency.

Cooper was especially cold in that last scene with Don, kinda came out of nowhere.

Sitcom with newly-divorced Pete and Don in Cali, starting over (agency, life).

Danny as a comic foil.
