One of the funniest promos in a long time. Roger lying there then it cuts to don taking a sip. Then him about to sit down.

LOOKS LIKE A DOOZY NEXT WEEK.

Bobby Kennedy was killed.

Edit: Oh, MLK. I swear it was Kennedy but I guess that's because of the guy mentioning Kennedy. My mistake.
I know this is really late...

This threw me off too. But my history knowledge kicked in and RFK was doing a campaign speech at the time of the death of MLK. He announced it to his crowd which happened to be a mostly black one. I think him announcing it helped to accelerate the news.

I don't know exactly what Paul Newman said during the event. But RFK was killed like two months after MLK. So I'm sure that will be touched on shortly in the show.

Mad Men episodes that interweave timely events are always well paced and the pinnacle of this show, IMO. The best this season, so far.

I think last week's was better, but this was second best, probably. Episode 3 has been the weakest.

DANG DARNIT!

My DVR didn't record the first minute or two of the episode.

Can some kind gaffer tell me what happens at the beginning of the episode. My DVR started recording right when Bobby's scratching at the wallpaper in his room. ;___;

It opens with Peggy and Abe looking at a nice new apartment with their agent, and the next scene is Bobby peeling the wall paper.

"I don't think anyone is in the mood."
"It's quite the opposite. Now is the time when a man and a woman need to be together the most. In a catastrophe! In the Flood, the animals went two by two. You, you're going to get on the Ark with your father?"
"I can find my own girls, ok?"
"Ok. I'll bring you a sandwich."

so peggys gonna be dons neighbor? that could be an interesting development

she gonna catch him cheating on megan omggg

Neighbor as in just upper east, not in the same building or anything. I doubt anything would have come from it, especially not now since she didn't get the apt and her man doesn't wanna live there.

I didn't catch it at the time, but it was a promotional paper that they put out with Planet of the Apes when it came out.

Amazing

I love Pete's outrage tonight. That was one of the best parts only because I couldn't imagine anything ever occurring where I would think he was a bossssss.

Not sure why everyone is so surprised at Pete, he delivered quite the lashing at Roger for his racism against the Japanese in S5.

yeah and he looked disgusted at Rogers black face in s3

he's been consistently progressive on that front

it's not surprising, he has always been painted as the liberal but it's surprising given the mega amounts of douchery. Hard to process. It's almost like he adopted the forever douche persona but for a second tonight we were reminded that there's more to him.
