come on guys dont gang up on coney. although he didn't use the cone in 06, he has become a respectable player in 07. nothing wrong with using the D-line ladies (infact it's probably a downgrade in skill for a human player to be using them with the way the CPU manhandles any O-line :lol )

The best thing about this game so far is that the line doesn't come all bunched up, so if the pressure is coming from the outside and I don't have an open WR I can actually just shoot up the middle.

I had a ESPN highlight of the night play against Konex. I snap the ball and my line falls apart, he's manually blitzing with his lineman so he's got one side and the other end broke loose too. So I freakin run backwards out of fear (I think I heard Vick scream like a little girl), I get back about 15 yards behind LOS and my blockers catch up and I see a seam going straight up the field. I turn around, cut up field and dodge two defenders. As I get near the LOS Crumpler breaks loose through the middle and I chuck a quick lob over a LB that is coming at me. COMPLETION!!!

I know everyone worries about Vick cheese and crap but that was the most realistic Vick moment I have ever seen in a Madden game yet. I don't want to be able to run him 100 yards a game, but he should be able to get away from big fat lineman when they are chasing him. Last year I could have Vick running straight across the field with a Lineman chasing me and the Lineman would catch me everytime. Vick's speed didn't kick in unless he was facing up field.


But people have to realize that if you use the Falcons Vick better get some rushing yards. His accuracy is pretty weak and his only good reciever is Crumpler. Dunn is a small back so if the line is strong I can't run him every second play. Vick is their best weapon.


But Konex you really do just snap the ball and run sideways. I know it cause it's how I used to play and still do sometimes. It's just a habit.

I played Truelize and he really didn't get carried away with Vick. He had a couple of rushes and 1 TD, but I left him wide open for that one by accident. If the hole is there, he should take it. I had all his receivers covered and he needed the TD to win it, so he went for it.

See. Realistic scrambling QB play. Gap opens up straight up-field. I takes it.

Moss is evil. But Deangelo Hall can actually stay with him when the ball is in the air. Now if only the computer would let me switch to him when the ball is about to be caught so I could knock it down without him slowing down. That sucks.
Deangelo Hall actually beat Moss to the ball one time and Moss just jumped up and got it.

Cadillac had too much gas, hopefully when EA releases the patch that SOB will tire down some throughout the game. Looks like I will be left with the Browns or something.

After I threw that stupid INT early in the game with Simms, I just avoided using his arm for the rest of the game :lol Cadillac was able to carry my one-dimonsional ass to a victory. Hopefully I don't have to do that again!

hey Duce Im pretty sure I need a new router but I can play on direct connet if you cant play later today. looks like my trip out of town is on hold so Ive pretty much got all day to play now. just hooked up a new cable modem and it seems better but Id feel better testing it by playing Texas Hold Em and Madden. those were the two games I was having problems with.

Im about to send you a friends request and we can set up something from there.

btw, as in last year, please do not HIGH PASS! it is a bannable offense! high passing is dirty and often times unable to be defensed. don't do it, come on fellas (although i have yet to see anyone from the league use it often). i played a game with zep to test it out cause he said it was even dirtier than last year, and god damn he is right!

If thats how you were playing before I dont know why people were complaining. The only thing cheesy that happened was when you somehow completed passes thrown into triple coverage, thats the games fault though. The user pick I had that somehow phased through Dawkins hands and into your recievers was complete garbage.

ok since we arent officially in the middle of league games Ill get this off my chest now. you do not "always" play like that. many times during some of our NCAA games, you clearly sprinted out of the pocket with your QB as soon as the ball was snapped and it wasnt because of pressure. maybe you dont do it every game that you play but you do it enough to get noticed apparently.

this is why I want to keep the cone. if someone doesnt have the discipline to stay in the pocket then they shouldnt be able to stop and make a perfect deep pass in a split second as they sprint towards the sideline.

Konex in my opinion your play style has always been borderline cheese. going back to the 2k games when you used to take advantage of the super fast QBs, and when you would come up to the line with 4 wide and audible every one of their routes on just about every offensive play you ran. if thats how you play fine. its not up to me whether youre allowed to participate in these leagues or not so for the most part Ill do my best against you and accept that youre an asset to the leagues in that you are dependable. just do some of us a favor and try to understand where we are coming from when we complain about some of the things you do.

Yeah that is pretty much what I've heard from everyone that has played Konex over the last two years of Madden. It comes and goes but if everyone was forced to use the cone then players couldn't get away with just running and throwing. And the Oline works, FMT & Wellie taught me the beauty in the old games of just pushing up slightly when you snapped the ball to make the Oline pick up the defenders but I don't seem to need to do that anymore. Plus the three step drop seems to give enough time to see if the line will hold. If it doesn't then take off.

maybe sometime tonight we can play. right now my godson is play Oblivion and Im looking into maybe getting a new router.

however I will not pause the game to comment on anything youre doing. Ill let you know afterwards. I hate interrupting the flow of a game even if its for nothing.

oh by the way Im not sure I was ready for the game against Duce. I hadnt actually played a real game in a few days and Ive spent so much time trying to figure out my connection issues Im kinda back to square one. I think by the end of a full season of playing this game Ill have a pretty good idea whether Im ever gonna get better in football video games.

so many bad things happened in my game against Duce and Im not sure there was anything I could have done to prevent any of it. there were two glaring things that I know may limit my play selection in any game. I handed to the FB once. he fumbled. I ran a PA pass once. I got sacked. it seems those plays are failed to doom no matter the scenario you find yourself in.

I also threw one screen pass that didnt amount to anything despite me having 3 blockers out there taking one guy out. either the MLB or the far side outside LB came all the way across the field under my lineman that were turned upfield blocking and tackled me from behind for a short gain.

the reason this upset me a little is because Duce ran screens all day long and no matter if I called man, or if my outside LBs were playing a flat zone to that side if the field, or if I blitzed to that side of the field, he always got what I would consider good yardage out if it. maybe a couple times I stopped him for no gain on a screen but that was only because I used the safety and had to pretty much commit to stopping it once I recognized the Olinemen moving out to block.

I also saw TO drop another pass that hit his hands as he was one on one streaking deep. what the heck am I doing wrong with this guy? I guess my passing in general is bad but I had to watch my receivers get manhandled several times as they tried to complete their routes.
