guys a quick note, preseason is going to start sometime within the next few weeks. these will be real games, and you will have to enter the stats on the site and so on. this accomplishes a few things:

1. you can get accustomed to the stat-entering process
2. we can find out who is going to be a flaker, and replace them as needed.
3. we can find out who just plain doesn't feel like playing in the league and replace them
4. time for possible roster update! come on EA i don't want mike rumph on my squad!

I thought it was fine when we did it last time. I hope EA updates the damn gui to address the fatigue issue. How many games did you have in mind, though? I don't want a 5 game pre-season. ><

what is odd is that i didn't have too much lag against DCX. well i shouldn't say that, there was lag but it was more of a "slow the game down" type of consistent lag which i am cool with. but when i played CK it was really laggy/choppy. but they both live in NY! what's happening here!

I havent played 1 game online that has had game breaking lag.

Id say a good 80% of my games had no lag. That includes people not on the West Coast.

That also includes FMT and his Shitty SBC connection. We had no lag

i have never had any lag against west coast players. i have played 4 new yorkers/new york area (ck, bigzep, dcx, malley) and have had bad lag with 3 of them. i don't know if there is some dynamic that is causing it at certain times or what, but why would i have no lag with dcx and lag with the other 3 when they all have good connections?

I have 8mb down and 2mb up. I still get problems with some people like DJdemonJ and DCX. You're fine with consistant lag? Yikes...

It's not my connection, I know that for sure. My game against JuanMR was pretty smooth, though.

EA servers suck. :\ We would have the same problems in the xbox and ps2 league where some people just weren't compatible. This seems to be more of an East vs West pattern, though. If 3/4 of your games against east coasters were bad, and your west coast games were good, then that means something.

maybe someone with technical knowledge can explain this to me: if the games are peer-to-peer, what does EA's "servers" have to do with it? This isn't asking a jack ass question sarcastically, i really don't understand how EA's servers have anything to do with it when you are directly connecting with someone. esplain!

as i said i'm going to do my best to schedule games with people in the same area of the country. now, with that said, i can't guarantee 100% lagless games. there will be times where it's going to be a pain in the ass. if that doesn't work for you let me know now since i have a lot of people who want to join that aren't in right now. i like the group we have now but the last thing i want to do is make this league a chore for people.

Looks like our final will be 49-21.

I was planning on getting schooled and then blaming the Lions, but the lag really did it for me. It was just insane. I'd hit RB to pass and then nothing would happen, as I watched myself get sacked in a slideshow. Wellington is about a million times better than me and totally whipped my ass, but the lag made it really hard to stay into it.

FMT: I live in Grand Rapids, MI. I don't know what caused the lag, especially since my network seemed to be cruising along pretty quickly.

EDIT: I just glanced over at my housemate's machine and saw the Azureus frog logo with a triangle underneath it. ****ing Bittorrent! ARGH.

MI is definitely more east than west. Again, Wellie, it's definitely my fault we had BitTorrent going. Things were definitely fun/fluid in the third quarter there, but the Lion's O-Line combined with your D-backs just made it impossible for Kitna (ugh) to have more than a few seconds to throw.

Well, it was more like 10 seconds IRL, 3 seconds of game time thanks to the lag. Frustrating overall, but you've clearly got a great handle on the game.

see this is what makes this such a guessing game. is it EAs servers or how many of us are just not realizing what is going on with our home networks? if you have wireless internet is someone leeching off you? turn that shit off. direct connect for sure fire best connection. ugh this would have pissed me off so bad if it was a league game and I found out there was lag because bit torrent was running on the other end.
