Tonight is the prerelease though right? I will call before I head over for sure.

Once again, criticism and advice is welcome. It really sucks that a few of those cards weren't Standard legal.

I don't think any of the prereleases are even allowed to start until after midnight, so regular FNM should not be affected.
That said, if you do want to do the prerelease, you might preregister. A friend of mine got one of the last spots at the store we're going to, and their cap was 120 people O.O I had no idea there would be such a large crowd.
This soundtrack is dedicated to the deck!
My friends and I are doing a Twisted Draft tomorrow, where we all buy packs we want to draft and pass them along as one big pool, regardless of set.
I picked up packs of Lorwyn, Shadowmoor and Eventide. A friend grabbed Onslaught, Odyseey and Torment. I'm expecting to see some Mirrodin in there somewhere. Should be a fun time.
I would really like to try this sometime. I've heard of it before and it sounds like a lot of fun. I imagine some blocks/sets work better than others, though.

So, I'm going to a prerelease event with a friend of mine tonight, and they're probably going to be doing a Draft thing (I think) but I've never done a draft before, even online. Can anyone give me some tips/pointers on how to do well in a draft?
Is there an IRC channel dedicated to this thread? If not, why don't we get one set up? I'm too lazy to browse through the past 100 pages I forgot to read in the past 6 months and you know, I'd like to hang out with fellow Magic players who are civil, or at least idle around you guys.
Also who's excited for Avacyn Restored? It looks pretty damn fun!
Prioritize flyers and removal.

I don't think they can do prerelease drafts, it should be sealed.
The same deck building strategies apply.
If anything, they should stop doing sealed because it's so bomby.

Mana ramp is generally very good.
General rule is 17 land and 23 spells.
dis right her.
Removal is anything that gets rid of or disables an opponent's creatures. This is stuff like Doom Blade (destroy target nonblack creature) or Pacifism (enchanted creature can't attack or block) or any spell that does damage to a creature. It is useful since limited often comes down to one guys big flying thing killing the other guy. So you want to be able to kill their big thing. From what I remember from the spoiler this new set is pretty light on removal. So snap up anything you can get. What does removal imply? Example please (I know, I suck with the terms right now). Mana ramps meaning too lol.

Just playing a casual MTGO match, getting stomped with my curse deck, a wild WanderingWind appears and starts observing my game :O
Ahahahaha, how did that game end?
Holy shit, this threads blown up since I last checked it. :lol
Yeah, this thread is at the level of activity I'd hoped for when I'd first made it. Its pretty sweet to see all of this conversation.
Most exciting game ever, btw.
Mine was excitinger. THAT DEVILS PLAY.
Only slightly undercut by the fact that I messed up so many times and that guy could have killed me with his slimes before I got my curse of devil's hold out.
