Comes it makes you look like you know what you're doing. "Oh you need to know what my Japanese cards do? Guess you just aren't as much of a baller as me..."

"Check out my Japanese, foil JTMS. Let's pla....FUCK LOST AGAIN!? BUT I SPENT SO MUCH MONEY!!!!"

Alternate Japanese art for Armada Wurm?

Haven't really found an effective way of doing it, besides pointing at cards in their hand and hoping they see what I see.

That's what I was afraid of. :/ Two kids tonight play together constantly and the kid I usually play with is working so I feel communication with my new partner may be hard.

Anyone who's in Atlanta right now at the tournament, is there an entrance fee to get into the event if I just want to swing by and check it out?

I totally would have made a GAF shirt and stood in the camera frame of the stream, but I don't think I'm gonna go today :P

Came down with a cold yesterday and still recovering.

There's definitely a cool factor in having foreign language cards. I'm told English cards command a similar premium over in Japan, which I think is kind of neat. I would love to have cards in Arabic text. An Arabic Elesh Norn would be badass.

You let us down man. How could you?

because internet, i am joking :)

Haha! I have failed my brothers!

My friend and I are actually going to attempt to play in the Standard tournament next year, so I'll make sure to have an official GAF shirt on for that one.

And on that note, we should design an official MTGaf shirt.

Absolutely.
I think only promo cards have been printed in the language so far though.

I have a feeling Karn will come back into play once we return to Zendikar in a few(ish?) blocks. His ability to exile might prove very useful in the fight against the Eldrazi lords.

So, uh, not completely related to paper Magic but still Magic related but: Is there any particular deck in DotP '09 to blow through the second DLC expansion to unlock decks? It seems the 20 card unlock decks I have don't seem to cut the mustard against these new decks. :(

Went undefeated at FNM today with my BR zombies deck.

Highlight of the night was using Zealous Conscripts to steal my opponent's Sorin Markov and using his ultimate, and then using his turn to Pillar of Flame to kill Sorin and have him bonfire himself

It means that there is exactly one color in its casting cost.

If it has hybrid mana or multiple colored symbols, it is multicolored. If it has no colors (say an artifact), it is colorless. Otherwise, it is monocolored.

Or you could live in a non-english speaking country. When Avacyn came out, it was pretty hard to get hands on English boosters for limited. But in general, it is pretty easy to get cards in English in Taiwan (I'm splitting the cost of 2 boxes with a friend next week) but when playing against Taiwanese players I see that their decks are about 75 Chinese/25 English. English cards aren't bought at a premium here. When people trade everyone just looks at the prices in US dollars and converts. Of my one deck I've got with me here, about 8 cards are in Chinese.

I'm going to the Ravnica release next weekend and most, if not all the cards will be in traditional Chinese. I'm gonna have my laptop out with all the cards out so I can remember what the hell I will be looking at.

So odd that they started Atlanta on friday

Edit: Sullivan is terrible as an announcer. Seck is not terrible but not as good as last week.

Worst Solar Flare deck ever.

Edit: Another shitty Solar Flare.
No Lili? So little removal? So little graveyard play?

Missed Day 2 after punting away a game I should have had in the bag after missing a Thragtusk leaves play trigger.

Positive, however. I 0-3'd the Standard open, telling me I was probably completely f'd, would have wasted my day (With 36% Delver inbred w/ Gut Shot and Mental Misstep w/ Mirran/Flight, I was pretty much fucked in Standard since my Zombie matchup is barely 50/50.) Found a good place to eat, had the best meal I've had in months (Pure Taquiera is an absolutely insane chain, highest recommendation) and I actually felt good.

Wish I could play the Legacy open though, have to drive back. 3-1'd w/ my list, losing to Miracles (a bad matchup if they get to resolve Top) but it performed absolutely insane for me.

Also: Fuck convention centers that ban outside food. Fuck them up their ignorant asses. It is not possible for me to eat anything there but Soda/Candy.

What are you running for legacy?
Death Shadow Delver. Jarvis posted his list in his last GatheringMagic.com and it was a fucking house. It has very, very good matchups vs any sort of BS-y combo deck and critter decks.

My one loss was to Miracles because my deck has a really hard time w/ an active top. I even tried to Force it when he played it T1!

He forced me back. :(

I watched Death's Shadow Delver last weekend and wasn't too impressed. I mean it's pretty ballsy to play but it just seems very fragile. Swords to Plowshares, Terminus and Engineered Explosives all really wreck your day. And against things like RUG Delver or Sligh you're just helping them by putting your life total that low for them. It does seem to have a good match up against combo with all the discard and counter back-up though.

You have to concede that Burn is the nightmare matchup and just hope to dodge it.

You should not lose to EE or Terminus or Swords. Top, however, will just wreck you.

What's not obvious about the deck is that you have complete information Asymmytry the entire time. You build your entire plan around what you know your opponent is likely going to do. It's very one-sided.

My brother's running a single copy of Nicol Bolas in his Grixis control standard deck. When the opponent is least expecting it
and has no way to prevent his ultimate
... GIANT DRAGON PLANESWALKER OUT OF NOWHERE

Also a single Psychic Spiral. Again, when the opponent isn't expecting it... bam, their whole library is in the graveyard.
Happens to me every time :(

I love his trend of putting WTF cards in his decks. His sideboard is full of them too.

Rules question. Fiend Hunter takes something, I take control of him with Captivating Vampire. What happens to the creature that was exiled with Fiend Hunter?

C'mon WW, it's like one of the most straightforward answer ever possible for a MTG problem. Shame on you for doubting it.
