Not a bad idea. I've been toying with the idea of going halves or thirds on a box and splitting up the cards each of us want but this sounds like a much better way of doing it.
Bought a fat pack today. Pulled a Mizzium Mortars, Vraska the Unseen, foil Abrupt Decay, and I'm pretty sure the other cards ain't even worth mentioning. Foil was nice but the only issue I have is finding someone to trade for it. ;[

So after casting Bonfire, he tried to cast Gravecrawler from the graveyard but wasn't able to even with one black mana open. Why was that?

There's been exactly one notable tournament since rotation. Not exactly a huge sample size, but it's a place to start:

Don't be fooled there, of course. Just because it says "Competitive" doesn't mean the deck is any good. All the "Competitive" forum really means is that you're not allowed to take budget into account when discussing deck builds.

Playing Deathrite Shaman as a 3 of! Did some playtesting with it on Cockatrice and it seems like LOADS of fun, and can do ridiculous things.

I'm really hoping someone brings a Through the Breach deck to PTRTR and puts up a good result with it.
There's a lot of debate about whether or not Griselbrand is actually a good reanimation target in standard or not. Drawing 7 cards is nice and all, but it's not nearly the beating it is in Legacy where you have the very real chance of drawing a Force of Will to counter the spell that's trying to kill Griselbrand. I've heard very reasonable arguments for playing Craterhoof Behemoth instead, especially if you're running a version of the deck that's heavy on mana dorks.

There's a big Magic tournament in Austin this weekend. I'm going to try to get Saturday off and go play with either Jund/BG/RB Zombies or Red Deck Wins. Anyone else planning to go to Texas State Championships 2012?

R/W humans was the only archetype I liked in 3xAVR. And as you say, it's not that good. If you assemble the pieces you can do some insane stuff (Goldnight Commander + Thatcher Revolt is crazy awesome).
But man - what a terrible, terrible limited format that was. Even though there's much more money potential in drafting that set over M13, I just can't bring myself to draft it.
I have a bunch of humans, Silverblade Paladin and Entreat the angels and I'm going to ride that to victory.
Won the first game, total blow out. Some slow UB deck that ran Taskmaster.
(He used Stolen Goods and stole my Silverblade Paladin but he had to sacrifice it next turn lolololol)

I feel your pain on the mythics my man. Got those same two and a Niv. Whoopdie doo. Bad box is bad. My rares were similar as well, though I did get an Abrupt Decay.
I still have 3 packs I'm saving to draft. Doubt anything is worth anything in them. I don't think I'm paying as much as I did for a box next time -- this one soured me hard.

A little weird that the thread's so slow so soon after release. I bought a case. I know. What an idiot. I was stoked though. A bunch of retired MtG friends and I got together this past Saturday and drafted 3 of the boxes. Through some luck, I wound up with a full set of Jace, and now's the scramble to try and trade stuff like Abrupt Decay while they're big money.
Drafting this set is difficult. It's very easy for me to be non-committal and take the best card in the pack even halfway through pack 2, and that's led to some really terrible 4-color aggro decks a few times. The coolest deck I saw drafted was my friend who first picked Sphinx of the Chimes, grabbed a Wild Beastmaster a few picks later, and went on to draft every copy of Giant Growth and Common Bond he saw from that point forward. The deck sucked, but he did manage to draw 8 extra cards in a turn once. In limited!

Eh, maybe less with mana leak and stuff gone now but I think Griselbrand is still a crazy card if you can cheat him out. He's huge whether it's a kill spell, a counter, or anything else you need to dig for. I've won a good amount of games after digging twice for a kill spell or similar.

Also it seems Thragtusk has gone up in price, was 12, now 17 plus. Sold out at a few places. Was going to buy 3.

I say 'man-a'. I always mispronounce Merfolk though and keep saying 'Melfork' for some reason lol.
I'm seeing Thragtusk for $15 at scg.com. May be a decent purchase to just buy the Gogari event deck for $25. Comes with Thragtusk ($15), Woodland Cemetary ($15) and Wolfir Silverheart ($4).

Why does it cost so much? Do you have several mystic rares in it that cost $40/$50 a card?
8 shocklands, each of which are going for $10-$15, 7 mythics which are going for $15-20 each, and a ton of RTR rares which range from $5-15.
Mostly right now it's because the bulk of the cards are from RTR and this is a horrible time to be buying RTR rares
