Major PS4 System Software Update v2.0 Available NOW

I tried that before posting originally. The power button didn't seem to respond. Perhaps my finger wasn't in the "right place" for all 15-20 seconds I held it. Hence my dislike of the non-button button...uh things. But that is definitely good advice and always worth trying before unplugging. Same advice goes for WiiU if it happens to freeze.

If it doesn't do anything then wipe down the button with a cloth and try holding it again. Oily fingers/residue can mess up your contact w the button.
Unplugging a device while it's on is an absolute last resort.

Guys help me, I have a wireless router from Bell (i'm in canada) and i can barely keep remote play and game share to stay. I Need some advice on what to do :(

Got the update, played a little Destiny, then put it into Rest Mode (why did they change that from Standby?). Tried to start my PS4 again about an hour later... nothing. Finally got it after pulling the power cord and plugging it back in. Anyone else?

I assume they changed it to avoid confusion when Resume/Standby are implemented later.

So before I even attempt this, I'm getting the impression I need to put music from the thumbdrive in a 'Music' folder?

F:\MUSIC is correct

i made the mistake of putting it in the ps4 folder due to how the PS3 worked. F:\PS4\MUSIC wasn't working

It's finally working! Thank you everyone :D

How I get that voice tutorial again?, or does it end after "close guide"?, the OS seems like it still in tutorial another prompt saying only 15 items will be displayed.

Paper Sculpture theme - Nice looks and music
Rectangular theme - Nice sound but far too white its hard to see text on top row of icons
Spiral - Just bad

It's also a bit annoying if you downloaded then delete a theme it still shows up in the theme folder in settings

This update fucked up system standby, it goes into standby but the orange light keeps blinking, I can't wake the system up with the controller or power button I have to pull the power plug and plug it back in to get the console to turn back on.

Yup, bunch of us with the same problem.

Can also try holding down the power button for 10 seconds or so..sometimes that works.

Whoa, I just noticed there's only 15 apps on screen. Is there any way to see all of them again? It's painful to navigate the library when it doesn't put demos separated from full games.

I've just been double tapping the PS button to instantly switch between the actual application and whatever I'm playing. I guess this is useful for when you've used something else in between right enough.

You know, I'm just happy I can finally play BF4 with my NIN albums on top of that.

So on the main screen I have eight friends online, what does the little blue circle icon mean?

Simply 'online' followed by the amount of friends which fall into that number. Not the current user Online/Offline/Appear Offiline/Away which some speculated (this would be next to the username anyway).

There's a setting you can toggle to show them all again, if you want to. I don't recall where it is though

I think the 15 most recent apps thing isn't well thought out. Why 15? Why not 5 or 10 or 3 for that matter? Why not just let the user configure what number they want in the settings? I also personally think the Library should always be at the front of your list instead of at the back.

Big fan of this update. Pause/resume downloads, proper library sorting, limited home screen, PS button shortcuts, color changing, and just how snappy it is now compared to lately helps a lot. Pretty much all the little features I want are in now.

I installed and checked it briefly before leaving for work this morning. No problems for me, except it seems PSN was congested.

Edit:Nevermind there's a separate thread with answers.

I tried to upload a clip to youube, i pick the youtube option, and the PS4 crashes. Had to manually boot it again.

Awesome.

edit: and it's not booting now. Great.

tried to upload a vid to youtube. took forever to even connect my account (just keep trying), but now I'm getting an error: NP-34388-6 that appears for every video I want to upload to youtube. What gives Sony?

this isn't exclusive to the update btw. it happened to me once like a month back (y)

My USB stick doesn't work anymore after 2.0. "File system not supported"

Formattig the stick to FAT32 or NTFS makes no difference.

Anyone having the same problem?

It is user changeable

15 most used items yet Sony's music and video service, which I've never launched once, still remain in my dock. GTFOH.

Everything feels snappier though, especially PS Store.
