Major PS4 System Software Update v2.0 Available NOW

PSN wasn't working for me five minutes ago but I shut down and then restarted the console and now it's working fine.

EDIT: Lost connection again :(

Basically you need to download the system software, move it to a USB stick, then re-install the system software. I followed all the steps then I was met with this message

"The update file cannot be used. Connect a USB storage device that contains an update file for reinstallation for version 2.00 or later (CE-34788-0)"

So here's the problem - the system software install on Sony's website is 1.76. It hasn't been updated in a while and the PS4 is asking for 2.00 or later. So I dunno what to do. The PS4 is basically useless, can't do anything with it until I install the system software which Sony forgot to upload YAY

What are some people's favourite game-soundtrack combinations? Bit of 2pac while playing Watch Dogs saves me from the god awful radio, and I've found an odd enjoyment by mixing Ground Zeroes with the Child of Light and Transistor soundtracks.
 
I've only managed to get the Destiny theme working. The others say that I have them but I to verify them by connecting to the PSN Store, which I can't do at the moment.

It's kind of amazing this is a multi-billion dollar company. Everything they do is some comically bumbling misadventure. Is there just no accountability at Sony? I genuinely don't get it.
 
Would it have killed them to let you pick any colour for Flow, or at least offer more than just 8. None of the new colours took my fancy. I could have lived with a random one like the PS3 had.

And the popup when you press the PS button is damn annoying. I don't need to know my name, and I'm quite sure there's room elsewhere to put a battery indicator without having to show a popup and go 'bing'.

I'm in, but I got kicked from DRIVECLUB. Kind of just assumed that was DRIVECLUB being DRIVECLUB.
 
Come from a x360 before I moved to ps4, servers down from the updates a new thing to me, but hasn't got me that pissed to be honest.

What has though is that I don't seem to be able to look at trophies without psn!? What is this Shit!

By the way i can't sign into PSN on my PS3 either. Haha. Oh man, what is Sony doing with the new revenue from PS+?

Seriously, it's laughable how disorganized and incompetent Sony are when it comes to this stuff.
 
Whatever they did between this and the vita update remote play over my wired network is absolutely perfect now I tried all my ps4 games and they were all awesome no noticible lag.

My android phone doesn't seem to work. Internal storage and the sd card both have a music folder at the root and the pS4 doesn't read them.

That's what gets me. I know running a network and massive company is difficult. But to continuously fail at things that require the smallest amount of thought? Has no one considered updating PSN at the same time each week? Maybe scheduling some type of maintenance period instead of just doing it at random? Not releasing firmware on store update days?

It's just embarrassing how incompetent Sony is these days. It's just mindblowing shit.

The Library now works perfectly, exactly how it should. Theres not even need for a folder option anymore. The Themes was also a great addition, besides only the original, the darker blue, the purple and the green I actually liked in pratice (am using the green now).

I don't play it as much as I play my XB1 or use my PC, and all of them are linked to the same TV, and all of them via HDMI cables. My PS4 several times "freezes" my TV when turning it off, requiring me to turn the TV off pulling the cable off the energy. When I bought the console I thought it was just a bug of my TV, I changed the HDMI cable and the HDMI ports on the TV and nothing solved it, but I did not believe it was the console fault because it wasnt happening all the time. But now, after quite a time without using the PS4 it just happened again after trying the new update. And I can't remember it happening once with my PC and my XB1. =/

Sound like you are having a problem with HDMI CEC. Also you TV has a setting in it for HDMI Control. Try turning it off on the PS4 or try turning it off on your TV if the setting on the PS4 does not work. what model TV do you have?


Disable : [System] > [Enable/Disable HDMI Device Link]

At this point is more of a certainty. They are going to fail, again. And they will keep failing. At this point the odds that the network isn't going to crash every time there is a system update or a big game released on PSN are almost 0.

Try going into settings - storage and seeing if you have an option to enable USB Mass Storage somewhere, if you have that it might work.
