I downloaded the spiral theme and it was locked. Then I downloaded the Destiny theme and that was locked, but the spiral became unlocked.

What? i was just reading many articles about this,and they all said every single "RELEASED" PS4 game has this feature and that Publishers cannot opt out of it.

Themes aren't as great as I thought they were going to be. Some menus (system settings) still have the blue flow background even if you have only changed the colour of Flow, and not the theme itself.
Also I noticed some really strange artifacts/glitching on the very top of my screen when using the paper theme one whatever it was called. The white theme is cool ( I really dig the music) however you can't actually see how many friends you have online, or how many notifications as the text is white and barely readable. Bit of an oversight there! The Spiral theme I couldn't get on with.
Apart from that I'm really liking the new features

Themes are region locked for some really stupid reason. Or at least account locked. I downloaded one on my UK account and it said only that account can use it. Had to redownload it on my Canadian account.
Awful decision.

I get an error when trying to download the white theme... the spiral red theme is ok but I dont like red.. or the music .. :/Maybe it's just a glitch like Hexa said, but it gives me a message about restrictions.
Yeah not sure where that poster saw that. There are region issues (US-EU, etc) but I haven't heard of any publisher saying no. I'm going to try with Shadow of Mordor. Anyone want to connect with me?

Now they are all randomly unlocked. Might not be a region thing, just a stupid thing.

Destiny theme suuuuuuucks. No thought went into the readability of text on some of those screens.
COD theme is good, that one is well organized, but it's just a static theme.
That white square theme...man, it makes it feel like a totally different console. Awesome music and the background is futuresque. I love it.

Yeah themes have to be smarter than just putting a wallpaper of concept art under your UI. It can't have too much contrast or noise or else you can't read text. That's why the Rectangular one is the best one IMO.

I've been kicked from several Destiny matches today. I'm pretty sure those problems stem from Bungies end though. A lot of people on the Destiny forums are having problems including XB users.

I don't understand this. You talk about too much contrast or noise yet the Rectangular one you can barely read the icons or how many friends you have online as it's pure white against white...
It is my favourite theme out the ones but still.

That square one is great but I have some major issues seeing any text in the top left corner. Went back to the basic flow theme. I wish we could change the music and themes separately, tired of the original ambient piano.

One Question: If someone has a PS4 and his friend has a PS Vita in another country and he wants to play his friend's PS4 games, can he do that via Remote Play and Share Play ?
I'm loving the update but I just can't sign in in the Youtube application, also uploading videos directly to my Youtube channel doesn't work because PSN can't sync with Youtube.

He could do RP but SharePlay currently only works between PS4s.

I keep getting PSN is down messages. Then I click on themes and it takes me to the store and shows me the 5 themes. I click on each, and get an error. Finally the sailboat one downloads. I get an email stating I "bought" it, it downloads and installs and I go to use it and the PS4 refuses to use it stating that I need to buy it first. Blech.
Holy shit, is this true? First Share Play and now Themes ? wtf is that ? Region lock is fucking stupid. I mean we have 2014, globalization is in full swing and so on. Remove those awful restrictions Sony !

Agreed, that's probably from Harry Gregson Williams as well since he's the AW composer. Hoping the soundtrack is great, not feeling that music at all.

I was getting that earlier, but when I got off the PS4 and tried downloading from my desktop PC instead of the PS4 web browser, it worked fine.

Somehow managed to get a theme on the download queue an hour ago. It downloaded but is locked because the license can't be verified. Can't download any of the others. Sad that there's so much trouble with such a useless update.
Didn't get disconnected from Destiny, but it sure came close. Got that contacting servers message 3 times in the span of one mission.

Wow, you're not joking. My JP account can download the themes just fine, but my US account can't use them. Meanwhile, the US PSN seems to still be shitting the bed for me.

Just noticed you can change tracks, pause and adjust volume of music by holding PS button.
Shit, Rest Mode is really the Rest in peace Mode hu? Lol my PS4 won't start after I tried to power it off into Rest Mode. Now I need to pull the plug, wait 15sec. and then restart in safe mode. Always get a heartattack when this happens. My lovely PS4 .. i don't want to lose it

well if their countries are far apart, it will suck anyway... but sure, he could possibly do remoteplay with vita and ps4.
they can tracert each other to see whats the latency between them and if remoteplay is viable.-
