Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 ended in the Southern Indian Ocean

Boy if it's all the way out there then these pilots had one hell of an adventure. Either the pilots died and the autopilot went haywire or a failed hijacking ending in a dip into the sea to attempt to rid evidence.

If the airplane had a technical malfunction would the flight data recorder pinpoint the possible cause? Seems to me it would be in the best interest for Boeing to fund/assist the recovery efforts

IF this is it, and IF the black box is intact but has sunk to the bottom of the ocean, that's gonna be one hell of a mission to retrieve it.

You can bet that we'll do it, though. All this effort to find the crash sight? *Everyone* wants answers.

He didn't answer directly, but I'm pretty sure he implied that Australia is not continuing its search anywhere else at this point.

James Cameron is on it.

So if this is it, would this indicate that the smoke theory was right?

Also, have we ever heard what was the data that made them focus on that (relatively) small search area?

Not sure the blackboxes can survive that kind of pressure tho.

Even if crushed the data can still be recoverable in some instances. Modern recorders use flash memory which could be perfectly usable even if everything around it is destroyed or the electronics don't function normally.

Eh. Giant pieces bobbing up and down in the water? Not impossible.

If there is a single piece that's 70 feet long or so they might have had a gentile landing.. assuming they weren't reading several pieces clumped together to come up with that size. Question is was anyone still alive when it hit the water.

Taxes?! Isn't this the line for Metallica?
But maybe somebody grabbed bottles of fresh water....

Oh, who am I kidding, it doesn't look hopeful
