K sherlock, let me explain better... the post count number is counted and displayed FOR THE USER when the page is rendered. So let me paint this hypothetical for you to better understand. Man makes post on the 5th of april (Current post count - 88), no one really cares and it isn't all that interesting. Two days later his wife uses the computer, sees the forum open on the thread and proceeds to post response (Current post count - 89). Another forum user screen shots for epicness before its deleted or edited. Thread grows this user account makes 14 posts before someone decides to screen shot the original post that started it all (Hence Post count - 103). The point is, the post count at the time of posting isn't recorded or displayed, only the current post count tied to the user. Elementary my dearMegadrive said:You don't know how to read, do you?
First post was made 5th April. The response by his "wife" was made 7th of April. Well done Watson.
(I'm very sure the reason for it was just a difference in time from when each screenshot was taken where posts could've been deleted or anything else could've happened.)

I don't think you understand what he is saying. The first screenshot was captured second. The post count had gone up by this time. This is how post counts work.Megadrive said:You don't know how to read, do you?

Don't you just love the gulf in intelligence and intellect between the two?
I didn't know you took the original shots... I figured you found it somewhere else and were reposting the shots, (safe to assume since 90% of topics here are reposted from reddit anyways) either way my hypothetical is still valid not knowing all the facts.mre said:I think it was either a database error or the mods whacked a ton of his posts in the ~5 minutes between screen shots. I screen shotted them in the order posted in the OP, and didn't even notice the disparity in the number of posts. I'm tending towards the database error given the fact that the guy now has over 108 posts.

Megadrive said:To everyone trying to explain it to me, I know how forums work. The way you guys clearly think I'm thinking is how Ezboards used to (still?) work.
Also, Cheeto? You're wrong. First post: 103. Second post: 89. Which makes me right, and you wrong. I do understand that the post count that displays is how many posts that user has when the page (and subsequent data) is fetched from the database. Thus, at the first post, he might indeed have had 103 posts including that post. And when his girlfriend posted, posts of his would have been deleted making his post count 89.
So maybe you should understand what you're trying to explain before trying to explain it to me?
Stealth edit: I read your post fully and yeah, nevermind. You get it as do I. I apologise for being a tad dickish. Soldier on! (Y)

The Interrobanger said:It's always car forums, bodybuilding forums and video game forums. Not that surprising considering generally speaking they're some of the most retarded, irrational, socially inept, passionate and tech savvy people on the planet. It's a messy combination.
SnowWolf said:So true. I wonder what the members of exotic sports car (Ferrari, Lambo, etc.) owner forums are like. I've visited a few of those forums and they seem pretty normal, but you never know.
Ceres said:It's generally car forums that attract the ricers. And Hondas are pretty popular among that community. My favorite ricer related backfire is still the Miami forum where a guy bitched about a cop giving him a ticket but the cop was a registered member.
