Millions of people around the globe live every day without money. Yet some hipster from Utah gets an article written about him?
I'm not saying it's wrong, but he kind of made it a point to shit on our entire society. Kind of a slap in the face to people who work and earn money.
Actually he is.
If you read the OP, you'll see that his "ethos" revolves around whatever comes naturally. Basically what people are willing to do or share in the natural course of their activites. I'm sure he sees the usage of the library as being on-par with sharing the warmth of a campfire that someone has invited him to sit near. I'm not saying I agree, but I do think he is being internally consistent, from what I can tell.
How did he get to India with no money?
How did he get to India with no money?
He scavenges for food from the garbage
Why?
This was before he decided to live without money.
I don't understand - what's the difference between using a tax-funded public library and signing up for foodstamps? He seems fine with doing one but rejects the other. Surely entitlements like foodstamps are every bit as natural to society as funding a library? If his philosophy allows him to "share in what is freely given" I see no reason why he should embrace one entitlement and reject the other. It seems inconsistent to me.
Because that would incur a type of debt (foodstamps).
Let's see how well he survives when we put a 100 more of guys like him in his area all competing for the same roadkill.
The book he wrote costs $10.20.

Hipsters are notorious for frivolous spending. This is an old school hippy. Very similar yet very different

More like 50 years back.he's 11 years ahead of us.
I dunno, just a vibe. WhateverHow are these similar? Please explain, I don't understand.
He looked like he had really poor hygeine, but seemed pretty happy and content.
Until he drinks some bad water, catches dysentery and dies like an Oregon Trail pioneer circa 1840.
I live my life with money.
I have security, entertainment, home, friends, belly full of good food and a shit ton more.
... what is this article about again?
happiness?
Glad the dude is happy... but haters gonna hate, because they couldn't possibly live the same way.
I'm plenty happy without having to give up everything I own to be that way.

This dude is also preaching that he's living some noble life, unlike the rest of us working fools.
crazy person. i like nice clothes, good food, going out and experiencing events like concerts and art galleries. i like women and i like watching sports and video games on huge TVs. i love music and i love the ability to listen to whatever i want through great speakers. i am passionate about all these things, and they require money. i wouldn't live some shell of a life to prove a point.
moreover, i also want to be able to support a family one day. diapers and baby food costs money. lots of it.

He's kinda got a point though.
