Man of Steel - Official Trailer #2

I have yet to be convinced that Michael Shannon was good casting for this part and that new picture doesn't help. I hope he's awesome but man he looks bad. And after Premium Rush...

Premium Rush was just terrible anyway, he looked completely disinterested and like he was phoning it in. For a real look at Shannon's abilities, watch Take Shelter. If he brings even quarter of that performance to MoS, we're in for one amazing ride and probably the best Zod to ever grace the big screen.

Supes is going to fuck all kinds of shit up.

No more peeping tom superman.

He's always around though!

Miles Quaritch, he was brilliant in Take Shelter. I love that movie.

Cavill looks about as natural in it as I think he possibly could.

Speaking of natural, there was a short article or essay talking about how natural Superman should theoretically be. Since he's invincible, he would be very casual and relaxed almost all the time. The writer got the inspiration off of some cosplay and I can't find it on Google. Does anybody have an idea about what article I'm referring to?

That's silly. If he was natural all the time he'd be CARELESS. He has to be constantly anxious to worry about whether or not he's going to tear the front door off the lobby to The Daily Planet or sneeze somebody's house away.

And there is the problem with the article and being completely wrong lol

"or sneeze somebody's house away."

Or a barn door like on Smallville.

You would obviously have to take pains to cover it but you also wouldn't have to worry about a lot of the physical issues or limitations that people would have. The mentality that you can literally fly away and that you don't have to play by certain societal norms would be freeing in a sense.

Zod has a lot to live up to.

That Kryptonite Island was really a tough foe.

Not to mention those goons who beat up Superman.

I kinda hope they don't go with the secret identity that nobody can figure out.

The secret identity is part of the character so its in. No one figures itr out because there is no reason to think Superman isn't superman 100% of the time.

This is a Grant Morrison thing. He talks about it when he's discussing creating All-Star Superman (aka The Greatest Superman Tale Ever Told)

I still don't get the fact the guy was shooting him with a far more lethal weapon before that and bullets were just bouncing off Supes chest and then he decides to pick up a smaller gun and aim for his eye.

Then has a look of surprise when the bullet hits his eye and falls to the ground. Worlds dumbest random criminal perhaps.

"I mean nothing by it, its just that when I read the description I actually laughed out loud.

Can't wait. "

Ahh okay. I mean I haven't read it, I was just curious.

Again... The scene was stupid because the dude could see the bullet bouncing of Supes' eye and hitting the floor. That is impossible, unless the shooter was also Kryptonian.

Wait, what? Was it implied that he had super speed? He just watched the flattened bullet fall towards the ground. That's hardly amazing.

Now that's my mother-fucking Superman.

I still wish the color palette was slightly more vibrant (at least the gold on his \S/ shield), but overall the costume has completely grown on me. Cavill looks about as natural in it as I think he possibly could.

Look at this fucking guy. Brick fucking house.

That's not bullet time. The bullet would fall at the same speed everything else falls.

ETA: Watched it again. It bounces off at the same speed as it goes in.. lame

Superman VS Dangerous Things That Aren't Stupid Kryptonite Traps is Best Superman.

So I hope so.

I know Lex is probably the most famous and well known Superman villain among the general public, but I never want to see him or another regular human as the main villain in a superman movie again. We get it, they're going to have a chunk of kryptonite on them and turn Supe's into a weakling. I'm sick of that and that was what ruined Returns for me. I want to see someone who can go toe to toe with Superman and actually hurt him without needing the green rock. Zod will provide that, and hopefully they'll have villains like Doomsday or Darkseid who will do the same. Not saying I don't want to see Luthor, I do, just make him a secondary villain.

You can definitely use him, but you need to have an original approach beyond the Hackman Luthor. TAS Luthor could easily carry an entire film.
