Thank you based science for introducing the concept of mental illness that makes me able to "understand" this kind of things

lifetime prision + sterilization, ASAP

I'm a father of a one and a half year old daughter and it's fun to pull pranks on her and troll her from time to time but damn.

Even on a lesser note than what he did, who wants to hear a child cry? How is that fun for anyone?

I only read as far as he burned her with a cigar, threw her on the ground and that she later died. Holy shit.

Is it just me or are do all these stories recently come from early 20 year olds? Then again that kind of makes sense.

RIP...

Man fuck all these stories of poor children murdered at the hands of these terrible terrible shitty parents

RIP little girl :(

You can be crazy and stuff but there are still some limits and boundaries that shouldn't been crossed. I don't understand how someone can do stuff like this, no matter what problems you have...

My son just turned 1! This depresses me! I can't even imagine anyone doing such a thing!

The f*** is wrong with some people?

So... how can people not be in favor of the death penalty?

It's an easy way out. I'm much more in favor of torture. People like these should be suffering and in pain.

The justice system is not infallible. Currently, the penalty is used in such a way that innocent people can accidentally be put to death.

If we could fix that problem, or somehow have an infallible justice system, I'd be all for the death penalty.

Torture is basically a barbaric punishment. I see no place for it in a justice system.

A justice system should strive for rehabilitation where possible. In cases like this, where rehabilitation is likely impossible, we should remove the person from society in this most expedient manner possible whether that be via life imprisonment or death.

What does torturing the man bring to society at all?

What the hell, hope he get what is coming to him....

Also, I genuinely wonder if some people get off posting shit like this. News is news but damn, this shit is getting out of hand. Feel like there should be a Gore-OT

Personally I don't understand the purpose of reporting horrific news like this. I mean, I guess it's notable because it's an uncommonly terrible occurrence, but I wonder if mainstream media really needs to be flooded with grotesque reports that do little more than sicken people and further the misconception that times are worse than are. Can't we have some sort of public database where the sick stories are collected so they don't have to be circulated through so many news outlets? Maybe I haven't considered this issue carefully enough, I don't know.

So... how can people not be in favor of the death penalty?
Because it doesn't fucking solve anything, because it gives the state the power of death over its citizens, and because we will never have a flawless justice system where only the guilty are convicted. I've given you three of the dozens of reasons why the death penalty is a perversion of justice. Can we put this idiotic argument to bed already?

It's amazing the great lengths people go to be absolutely cruel towards someone else. What on Earth could make you do this, especially to your own child.

It truly doesn't make sense

I know right? Distinctions are not that dude's strong point.

"Some humans are terrible, therefore all humans must be terrible."

Fuck?

All humans are terrible in their own ways, everyone has done something bad at some point. Everyone has hurt someone else at some point.

The only real difference is some are worse than others. And some do great things as well.

All humans are terrible in their own ways, everyone has done something bad at some point. Everyone has hurt someone else at some point.

And likewise, many humans have done something good at some point. Everyone has helped someone else at some point.

To call humans terrible because you decide to focus only on the bad is shortsighted. Perhaps most humans are simply neutral, with some sliding into "more harmful than helpful" and some into "more helpful than harmful"?

Fucking tragic. That poor child must have had no idea what was going on or why...ugh. Death sentence please.

Aw man, how like edgy and deep he must be, bro! Because, like, he's like human, but he's talking about how humans are, like, stupid! Bro!

Dumbest post in this thread.

This is the worst thread and news I've ever ever seen.
I want to blow that man's brain off not before making him beg for it.

Wouldn't you rather have him rehabilitated and released as a productive member of society? Perhaps he can become a good father in future.
I'm against death penalty, but eternal prision in terrible conditions should be mandatory for this kind of acts.

As someone who lives in Apopka and loves it here I would love to disagree, but I can't. There definitely is a very distinct difference between the right and wrong side of the tracks here.

We've been hearing about this story for the last couple of days and needless to say my wife and I are appalled. Especially so close to home.

My brotha! I live in Apopka as well.

Horrible news. Dude will get his locked up in 33rd.

I really, really hate the world sometimes.

I also hate Florida even more now. Not everyone in it, but the state itself - just so much bad or asinine shit keeps coming out of it. Want to get out, ugh.

legit question, do you guys think these kind of person still deserve to live?
i mean we all know taxpayers are paying for the prisoner's sentence, why not just kill him?
to those saying human rights this and that, what about the victim's rights?
