I've noticed that having a unified platform to access content from has become increasingly more important to me, to the point where if stuff exists outside a certain content system ecosystem it's a lot less likely for me to bother seeking it out. Steam for instance basically is PC gaming for me at this point with a few outliers like (I assume) the Sims 4 when that drops or other things that aren't on there (Katawa Shoujo, Cook Serve Delicious when it first dropped, etc). Most of the anime I watch are on Crunchy, too, because it's rare I can be bothered to go seek it out elsewhere and sign up for some other service etc, etc, etc.
