Pictorial Book of Sound / Kikimimi Zukan
A single volume with several short stories. Yes another one! And from the author of Oh, My Sweet Alien!
The first story is a short one, serving more as an introduction to the idea behind the volume, about music, sounds and voices, and their relation with people. In this case, a fantastic tale of a teenager can see music as visual illusions.
The second story is a beautiful one, about a imprisoned woman who wants to sing. Don't want to spoil anything, I think it's the best of the bunch.
The third is interesting but more quiet and low-key, being a mute story about a jungle kid with hypersensitvity to sound (or at least it's my interpretation).
The fourth one about the charm and loveliness of a voice of someone you can't see.
Fitth one is perhaps the silliest one, about a girl getting hung up because she has to greet properly to a teacher in the morning entering the school.
And the sixth one starts a bit slow with a child seeing his grand-grandpa in the hospital for the last time, but it hits you in the feels at the end.
So a good collection, I think.
