Anyway I didn't find any killer big 3 surprises that would break panda, but I did find a nice upcoming series called μ&i.

It has battles and lolis and ridiculous scifi settings and guns and everything!

Raws only obviously

Shokugeki no Soma 74 A Clashing Burger Review

Burger is missing the varied sauciness and cheese.
You can't have a burger without such pleasing heaviness!

Ginger mixed on top of lettuce in order to create burst of refreshing flavour... lol really? By using only one sauce to distinguish the flavour and wrapping the patty in a steamed soft breaded butter bun she just tries to create an illusion of creaminess and heavy satisfaction... but still it is just that, an illusion! The ginger reminds you constantly that you're eating such a light burger!

What an act of betrayal, a clash of your skills!

Eventually you realize with every tastebud reseting burst (from the ginger and lettuce) that this burger does not contain any diversity!
Such a boring burger there is no melody in all of this stickiness, just plainness in a long tug-a-war between the original sauce/sticky patty and the refreshing lettuce/ginger

Such a shame.... A true failure of a burger!

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
She made this basically:

And it's good, really good. I'm sure a burger version would be just as good.

I have some braised pork belly I just finished that I'm now wondering if I should go do something extra special with instead.

When it comes to modern Western/Asian fusion, the popular thing to do is to replace typical sesame buns with the kind of white bread bun called "bao" used in China, and replacing Western flavors (ketchup, cheese) with Eastern ones (ginger, soy, peanuts) so in this sense her dish is nothing out there... except for the soft shell turtle patty which is kind of crazy. Usually, the replacement for beef is pork belly, which is the current go-to "Asian meat" of choice.

Reading Soma while knowing stuff like this must be a totally different experience.

Meanwhile I just accept everything they throw at us as some awe-inspiring dish. :p

The sad part is that it's mostly special due to the nature of the ingredient. Then again, that's not a big deal I suppose. Still, she'll probably lose :(

Guess the other dish will go the aromatic / taste route vs her texture / taste route.

It's a battle of Smell vs Mouthfeel , the "secondary" food qualities most unique to Indian and China respectively. The dichotomy is pretty cool actually.

Sometimes they get things wrong and it makes me upset, like with steaks.

I can follow any well made recipe but I'm not really a cook, I'm a food enthusiast like you guys are mango enthusiasts.

medium well for me

I'm fine with some pink but if it's still mooing then fuck that

The last time I was in America I learned that Americans don't know what that is and only deal in 3 different types of steak:

nuked to the core
bloody
are you sure this is dead? Positive?

it was interesting to say the least
