It airs at a much better more popular time than Kuroko and in far more areas, and its discs seem on track to sell just as much. I dont see how one could say it isnt as popular.

Well that's what happens when one starts a couple of years before the other.
Kuroko:
Manga started in 2008
Anime started in 2012
Haikyuu:
Manga started in 2012
Anime started in 2014
Hell you could say Haikyuu's popularity is growing faster since it took less time to get an anime adaptation. Or Kuroko just paved the path for more Jump sports series to become popular.

No, seriously, what. So the malevolent lump of magnificence I've been ridiculously fond of this entire time isn't the ex-Yumi from vol 3, rather it's some royally pissed shrine god that's been absorbing human negativity for xxx years. And as revenge for Yumi sealing it inside her spirit, it's forcing her to experience stories of humanity at their lowest and most depraved, presumably so it can mindfuck her into releasing her restraint.
Christ, I couldn't be more conflicted right now. On the one hand, it's a really interesting development and I can't wait to see it taken further in future chapters / extras. On the other hand, I have no idea how the fact of "Yomi" being one of my (if not my absolute) favourite manga characters survives this unscathed.
Fuck it, it's late so I'll worry about it tomorrow. Here's some guest art to celebrate 10 volumes of excellence:
