So I haven't read MAGI in a long time, but has the author pair off Alibaba with Mor yet? Because as if that's not real obvious.
Eyeshield 21 127-141
Finally Musashi came back, though I'm not sure how a kicker is going to help their offense get going at this rate
;__;
The opposite
The high value of a kicker is the most unrealistic part of E21, Himura's arsenal included
What are ya doing? You gotta read magi it's so good
I know, it's on my list to read when I finish One Piece

It's ok, you can just say you'll never read it.

I'm going to hold you to that
Hey he finally got around to reading One Piece and I'm finally getting around to finishing Eyeshield 21 so anything is possible.
But the whole Christmas Bowl is super formulaic and really exhausting. The human body can only take so much tension!Dunno if it's possible to get really burned out on ES21. It's less formulaic than JoJo up until the Christmas Bowl and the plot is always moving.
Pretty much. It's like reading an Adachi manga. Shit is the same in every story but it's just so enjoyable.I can see how ES21 is getting kind of formulaic with it's games at this point
-Opponent has some gimmick like being really tall or kicking specialist that makes them dangerous
-Opposing RB/LB is incredibly fast and a challenge for Sena to deal with
-Himura will do something crazy to fool his opponents until he reveals some amazing plan he's had all along
-Wah wah if only we have a kicker / yay yay we have a kicker (depending on where you are)
-Someone besides Sena will be given a rival, that other person will get a power up to overcome said rival
-Flash back about someone on the other team
-Sena loses to his rival multiple times, but he "gets better as the game goes on" and on the final play is able to beat him
-They're down at half time, get some momentum and make it close, the opponent scores to put the game "out of reach", miracle happens to let them win
It's still enjoyable though
Let me boil that down: Characters meet obstacles, overcome them, become better characters.
If you distil every story ever told you can summarise it up like that. It's the execution that matters.Let me boil that down: Characters meet obstacles, overcome them, become better characters.
There are probably more Generation of Miracle rejects still out there. The club had like two hundred members.
I think eyeshield 21 is very well executed. It's art is gorgeous and the characters are all unique and a lot of fun. The crazy ways they find to one up the next opponents team is also entertaining.

Jojo has crazy powers to make up for it mostly.
ES21 is like... Sena has a FASTER STEP!? I guess the subject matter doesn't really help.
I still enjoyed it quite a lot though. Fun characters with fun interactions. Plus the art helps make Gridiron actually interesting.
i'm okay with thisAdd in some ship teasing between Himura and Mamori,
I see the salt is still flowing in here in regards to the Magi stuff
lol
ES21 could've been padded out with boring schoolroom segments where the teacher's yammering on about something and Sena's looking out of the window wistfully and the teacher calls on him and he's like "OH WAIT WHAT I WASN'T PAYING ATTENTION". Add in some ship teasing between Himura and Mamori, hjinx with the Ha-brothers, a group trip to some an onsen resort or a beach where the boys try to peak on the two girls. Flashback to some childhood promise Sena made with Mamori. Spinoff with Suzuna and her brother, whats-his-face, in AMURIKA. And this is just talking about the Devilbats, You could do the same for the Knights, the Gods, the Gunmen, etc all at the same time.
And we would be here complaining about how nothing is ever happening and when will they wrap up this war arc and why does Sena's chakra never run out and when will Himura come back to troll everyone with his all-knowing smirk.
SINCE WHEN WERE YOU UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT YOU WERE WINNING? YA-HA!
Barf.
This is all true. But it is also true that the relentless assault of down-to-the-wire games leading up to the Christmas Bowl is exhausting.I think eyeshield 21 is very well executed. But that doesn't explain the world championship arc. Emotionally drained after the Christmas Bowl, you're thrown into a mess of dull subplots and racial ignorance. ES21's biggest flaw is that it goes on for one arc too long. It's a struggle, not just for Sena, but for the readers as well. If the Devil Bats gave in to simple exhaustion, do you think they would've made it to the Christmas Bowl?
Only through adversity can we exceed our limits.
