Lol, gotta admit that it felt weird to introduce myself and then have a bunch of posts talking about fellatio (' ^_^)
So after Zetman ch2 and because I have enough trauma already and I supremely hate cannibalism... I read Tokyo Ghoul 1. A solid start, not really gore, the next few chapters will decide if I continue or not.
While the two titles have been good reads I would note that the authors apparently can't do suspense to save their lives. The twist in Tokyo Ghoul 1 was apparent a mile away and Zetman ch3 seems telegraphed as hell too (

I relate far too closely to Shiori for my own good. Besides being haunted by a long dead music legend, I mean. I've been so excited for this translation to finally begin, and now that it has, I'm just enthused for more. Especially given what I understand is to come!
Not that I'm expecting ~progress~ out of an Akamatsu manga, and possibly opening a can of worms here, but is there any reason aside from "crush on a dude" that Kuromaru shouldn't continue to identify as male? I stopped reading this many chapters ago so I'm probably missing things, but from what I recall the character had identified as male and other characters were referring to him as such.
Meanwhile, like a clock, every time I take a look at manga, I check the status of Kochi Kame, published in English ? Published in French ? And every fucking time I'm a sad panda, like a clock.
I know sales and longevity doesn't automatically equal quality, but this one hurts.
Thanks! I need to have this as my reaction image.
Shin Kurosawa 18
Such manliness. Kurosawa still got it. He awaken the beast.

No shit Touta, we all sure you love Yukihime.

Oh, and Golgo 13 publication is still dead. FFS. That's it, I will stop looking at classics for a while, it's bad for my health.
I was thinking about it yesterday and was thinking that when an entertainment object attains such prominence and longevity, it becomes more than that, it becomes something that speak to you about its readers. Well, I'm trying to put in a few awkward lines that I don't want to read KochiKame or Golgo 13 just because they are surely good in some way, I want to read them because they will tell me about their country and their times.
I'm a bit grumpy now.
Like the bit about the great manga of the past in Bakuman 1 (just read the first one some years ago). There are game changer publications (or simply important) in any medium and they fascinate me.
Asano's comments about his awkwardness with movements are pretty spot-on from what I've read of his works. His progression through various publications before getting more experimental after Solanin is also interesting to know. I certainly didn't expect him to be considered awful at backgrounds early on.
Igarashi's thoughts about art and how much can be communicated through pictures are interesting as well. Presentation is also important!

Someone else pointed this out and now I noticed its pretty fucking :manga: that that everyone flips out when Tota announces he loves his weird adoptive mom in a completely normal, non-romantic way.
It's actually nice practice because usually the chapters involve some kind of novel trivia (at least the ones I looked at, was a while ago), so it helps with vocabulary/usage
Btw I've got a question related to the op. What's the deal with the whole missing Suzuka banner. Last time I checked Suzuka was (the little I read of it ) a nice slice of life manga.
Then suddenly I see people speaking about surviving it and talking about a banner that make no sense to me.

There was a Suzuka reading club back in OT13 were some of us were roped into this shitty manga by the promise of a special banner where we could promote a series of our choice were we to manage to follow the club to its end (meaning reading that shit in its entirety).
Needless to say it was a decision that some of us still regret to this day.
You can see the banner in the previous OT (or on my first post of the first page).

Well, Kuroumaru can certainly continue to identify oneself as male but atm Kuroumaru is genderless. Has luxury to pick gender come a certain age. would be a waste not to go female considering the personality and look is already there. I wouldn't mind at all if end choice is male but Kuroumaru would need to make absolutely sure there will be no regrets afterwards.
I do not expect progress either but I always speculate all the same. Kuroumaru got jealous of Eva, Kuroumaru isn't sure of own feelings. That is normal. This is an action fantasy shounen, so romance should be on the backseat. Hopefully no heartbreak.

Its not that Kuromaru is unsure of their feelings, s/he's fairly explicit in that she loves Tota. Its that she believes that men are better suited to combat than women, which is something she was initially concerned with and she's now concerned with because she doesn't want to be a burden on Touta. Apparently Kuromaru never read Negima.
