Just so people are aware... It seems pretty much everything on Jos A bank's website is buy 1 get 2 free or buy 2 get 5 free so if anyone was interested in anything, now might be the time.

Edit: Haha, it works on their 100% cashmere overcoats that go for $1000 but it doesn't work on their $200 suits.

Just bought a silk/cashmere YSL v-neck sweater.

Sorry for the big picture!

I have my work holiday party tonight (Fortune 100 company) and I'm wearing a navy blazer, gray pants, white shirt, white pocket square, and slim tie. What color tie does everyone recommend for this combo? I'm currently wearing a light blue one with thin white stripes but was thinking about changing it to something less boring.

Quick question regarding webshops for people in europe. I know of Zalando and Asos.co.uk, but what are other, good webshops with quality clothes for a fair price? They must ship to The Netherlands.

Topman. Pretty sure they ship to the Netherlands since they ship to Italy for a very low shipping fee.

Anybody know any sub $100 boots suitable for people for wide feet?

I was interested in the clarks desert boots but apparently they're very narrow. Fuck my terrible feet :/

What's everyone's opinion on New Balance? I've wanted to grab a pair for a while now, but my girlfriend hates them and I really don't understand why. They're simple and really well made trainers.

I'm thinking about getting some monk strap shoes. Any recommendations for good ones I can get under a hundred bucks? I think Aldo might have some, but I've never bought from there before.

Aldo has these ones on sale for 56 bucks... but I've no idea whether I should grab them or not.

I figure you guys might have better ideas than me. Thoughts? Site has a few others on sale too.

What's an alternative place I could get some good ones from?

Edit: I'm browsing the Nordstrom website right now, and these double monk strap shoes look neat. Expensive though. I am not paying 400 to 1000 dollars for a pair of shoes.

I was teased about them in this thread, but it was in good fun.

I have the 1400 from J. Crew. They're pricer, but they're made in the USA. I have them in Navy & Gray.

...I also have the 992s, but they were for running and are currently retired in favor of my nike frees.

These aren't monkstraps but duck billed loafers with fake straps, and please, don't get them.

Up your budget to 200 dollars and you can probably find something during the seasonal sales. Don't cheap out on dress shoes.

See, this is why I need you guys. I have no idea what I'm doing.

150 - 200, I can do. Now, good shoes I must find.

Edit: Oooh, I kinda like these: http://www.parkandbond.com/product/87458387

I like these ones more: http://www.parkandbond.com/product/142112619

But $278 is too much. But they look so cool. I want these "Langley Double Monkstraps". When do these fellows have their sales? Though the price has already been slashed from $398 :/

God those look cool.

Are there any comparable boots to the wolverine 1000 mile in brown that I should consider? I've had my eye on them for a while, but I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Red Wing Iron Rangers are another popular choice.

It might be worth trying them on if you haven't already. I found Clarks way too wide for my feet, so I had to return the pair I bought. I'm still looking for something similar, but it's been hard finding something that runs narrow enough for me.

Save up for the foot surgery.

Thanks for nothing

Cheers, if they don't fit you they definitely won't fit me either. My feet are so wide it's unreal.

When did fedoras become the go-to fashion items for nerds anyway? It's sorta sad.

Boss Black is made in China, so thats a NOPE. To Boot is made in italy and it looks like it should be ok quality, not worth 400 or 278 though. Perhaps wait till the to boot is 50% off first? To boots usually hit 50% pretty often.

Are you set on monk straps? Monk straps are pretty rare in the first place and I wouldn't rush out to buy them, more wait for them to come to me. If you need a dress shoe, you can just get a lace up instead.

I just like the style of the double monk strap. There's something about it that grabs me, you know? I don't mind waiting for a price drop, it's not urgent that I get it. I'd just like to get one. Right now I'm just looking around. If there's a good quality and stylish double strap for between 100 and 150 (200 if I have to absolutely hit an upper limit), I'd like to have it.

I have a couple of pairs of dress shoes (lace ups) already, so I'm in no hurry. I do appreciate your help though. The last shoes I bought have become pretty dirty and scuffed at work (I recall them being resoundly mocked on GAF, but I still love em), but I'd like to get a shoe that I wear when out with my friends on the weekend or at school, and I really dig the look of the double monk strap.

Why don't you just try them on anyway? You've got nothing to lose. I would say the width of my feet are normal and I have to .5 size down because there was too much room for my feet. You seem rather set on not even entertaining the idea.

What's a solid brand of khakis (type of pant, not color necessarily) that come in a slimmer fit that aren't crazy expensive? I like my Banana Republic chinos a lot but want something one step up on the dress scale.

The best you can prob do is Loake Cannons on sale, or To Boots on sale. Loake Cannon > To Boots. Loake Cannons at 50% off if you can find it should be 150-180 dollars.

I would not go cheaper quality because double monks are eye catching already and already firmly in the "adult" shoe range, so you don't want some cheap ass fashiony double monk strap that people will focus their eyes on.

Definition of crazy expensive? 100-150 range you can rely on a lot of the standard mens ware brands that do slim cuts like Theory, Boss Black, SuitSupply.

I have to import so trying them on and returning them if they don't fit is a bit difficult for me. Those shipping costs are nothing to scoff at. If I actually get the opportunity to try them on, that'd be a different story.

To clarify, the shoes were too wide for my feet, so I couldn't wear them. If you have a way to try a pair on, it's worth a shot.

I'm worried about this. Most normal shoes, and even wider shoes get me a huge ugly callus on my big toe, even after I break them down. Some I can't even get my damn foot in.

Dockers Alpha or D1, Land's End Canvas Slim fit, J.Crew ( or cheaper J.Crew Factory) Urban Slim fit.

I'm gonna splurge a bit for another successful semester completed. Just gotta figure out what I want.
I've got a Zegna blazer on hold for me at Nordstrom's but I feel like that might be a tad too much of a splurge. I'll probably turn it down in favor of some black boots, which I really need (and are remarkably cheaper).

Time to get that black leather jacket you were looking at awhile ago maybe?
