I firmly believe the champion will emerge from the Chicago bracket. Will it be Illinois? Oklahoma State? Arizona?

We all know the real answer.

I dunno why but I've found myself pulling for Okie State these past couple years. Probably because they're the least of all the evils coming out of the Big 12, but still, I like em.

I hated 'em when they played Pitt last year, and despite having a drug dealer on the team, I like the Graham brothers a lot. I'm cheering for 'em.

Give me a break. He made one mistake, and he's been completely flawless since. Has a GPA around 3.5, and everyone who knows him vouches for him as a quality human being. Anyway, guess it won't matter much when he's regularly dropping 20-25 and handing out nearly 10 assists/game next season. Surely you can find worse things to crucify him with than two marijuana sales.

Azwethinkweiz: unless I'm missing some sarcasm here, that's utterly ridiculous. I may hate most of the teams (as rivalries go) but saying they're full of criminals is preposterous.

Wish we could make these threads about tourney talk, rather than making false blanket statements about conferences.

Lighten up. I said several posts earlier that I liked Ok St. I wasn't aware I had to be completely serious when talking about sports. Although I guess when you're constantly defending your team it's harder to take a joke.

Cuz I'm a Michigan fan and I'm sorry but Rich Mcbride and Clavin Brock just dont strike quite as much fear in to me as Dee and Deron. Deron is prolly gone either way cuz he has a kid to worry about. But I figure if they take it all Dee will prolly make the jump too whether he's ready or not.

**EDIT** Oh and it'll put my dad in a good mood until the Cubs start to suck.

Whatever - the guy lost his scholarship to UNC because of his legal trouble in high school. I don't care if he turns out to be a good guy in college - the fact is that Ok. State is basically the Miami of the college basketball world (send your felons here!).

One look at their drunken coach should tell you all you need to know. He gets Kentucky banned from post season play by cheating and he bolts to OK State with no punishment. What a joke.

First chance I've had to post my thoughts on the brackets:

Louisville got screwed. Yeah, C-USA is pretty weak.. and I'm not a big Pitino fan but they probably deserved better.

We played quite a few of the mid-tier teams in our non-conference this year.. Vermont, LA-Lafeyette, Pacific, Nevada. Vermont is a really solid team it's too bad they got matched up with Syracuse in the first round.

The Austin regional is unbelievably weak.

Actually looking back at our schedule we played a pretty darn tough non-conference. Eight of the Eleven teams are in the NCAA tournament.

Vermont
Pacific
Kentucky
U. Wisconsin-Milwaukee
LA-Lafeyette
Nevada
Georgia Tech
Villanova (who destroyed us)

Then the other 3 teams weren't bad by any means:

TCU
St. Joe's - down from last year but still a solid team
South Carolina - No idea where they finished but I thought they knocked off Kentucky by a big margin one game.

Of course then we went and lost 18 games in a row to end the season. I don't feel too badly about though because all of them went down to the wire even though we may not have played the best. Moody and Langfords injuries didn't help.

I thought we really only played poorly against Iowa st. and that went to overtime. We would have beat Mizzou with Langford. There isn't much to say about the Texas Tech game.. double overtime crazy NBA 3-pointer from thier center with just a second or so left :(

edit: oh yeah, GO JAYHAWKS!!

Well what do you know? My dream came true! UF swept through the SEC tournament and played Miss State, Alabama, and then UK and won them all for their first ever SEC tournament championship! The drought is finally over! :) I wish I could savor this remarkable run even longer. Sadly most sports teams are remembered for their last game. I don’t see UF wining it all in the NCAA tournament, and they’ll have their hands full with Ohio, Villanova, and then UNC. I can see them beating Ohio (though it probably won’t be an easy victory like I’m hoping for), but Villanova (which I presume will beat New Mexico) will be very difficult game and then assuming UNC wins their two games they would be the next opponent if UF makes it that far. UF got stuck in probably the toughest bracket so I’m hoping they can make it to the Sweet Sixteen which would be awesome. If they happen to lose to Villanova it will still have been a remarkable season (esp. the later half of the season) for UF basketball which I hope they can build on next year, even with the departure of Lee and probably Roberson. If Roberson leaves, I’m not sure how well UF will rebound from that loss of big offense (Walsh can’t do it alone), but hopefully this year’s freshman, Green, Horford, Noah, and Brewer will get even better as sophomores and carry the team to another NCAA tournament berth. Anyway, that’s next season, and right now I’m rooting for UF to survive and advance as far as they can in the NCAA tournament (and I’ll be cheering for Alabama, Mississippi State, LSU, and UK). Go SEC! Go UF!

I'm so pissed off. U of L got seriously screwed. We're ranked #4 in the COUNTRY (coaches poll out), and got a 4 SEED!

I think this is the lowest seed EVER for a top 4 team, in NCAA History. For those saying we played a weak schedulewe have the second best record to Illinois vs. the top 25 during the year!!! So much bullshit.

:lol :lol :lol Louisville played what, 3 ranked teams? They lost to UK, beat Charlotte and Cincinnati? Florida may have been like #25 or something when they beat them. You played 5 OVC teams dude. That's the weakest conference in the country. Maybe you should be OVC season champs too :lol Maybe next year when you join a real conference, you'll get a little more recognition.

Fellows- Louisville will lose in the second round to Georgia Tech :lol

I can see George Washington knocking off Georgia Tech. They're a good team and have beaten teams like Michigan State and Maryland this year.

Beat tourney teams in: Stanford, Florida, Cincy (twice), UAB (twice), Charlotte, EKU.
Beat NIT Teams in: Memphis (twice), Marquette (twice), TCU (twice), DePaul

Winning 8 games vs. tourney teams and 7 vs. NIT is not bad. And Gonzaga got a three and the WCC is in no way better than CUSA. And we are ranked 4TH in the country. I don't see how you can spin it anyway that we need a 4. I guess we'll just have to prove it in the tourney. BTW George Washington will beat GT, I'm calling it.

Dude, you know EKU hardly counts as a tourney team. Gonzaga has 2 wins that trump anything UofL has to offer. They beat Washington and OK. State. The first game Louisville struggles to hit 3's, they're gone.

Argh the Albuquerque region is so fucking retarded. I could see Washington, Wake Forest, Louisville, Georgia Tech, or Gonzaga making the Final Four! I have Wake pencilled in, but I don't know.
