Mario Golf

I got Mario Golf for my lil bro for Chanukka (and of course, I was thinking Id like it too). But I SUCK. How can I get better!?!?!

Besides practice, because I just dont understand howto make shots

it's really easy, and once you get the hang of it, really addicting. Just read the manual that came with it. but if you want a guick idea, push A to start your swing and when it gets to the max amount of power (or however much power you want) push A again. Then, the gauge will go back down and you have to detirmine your accuracy. The closer to the starting line you get the more accurate you will hit your shot. I don't know man, you can probably figure it out.

If we're talking about Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour...

1. Land your shots in front of the hole. Adjust the distance so that they land in front of the hole a bit, and then roll forward. It will auto-set your club to the hole itself. Bring it back.

2. On approach shots, same concept applies. With very little height, they roll a lot, so make sure you bring back the cursor quite a ways.

3. Use Manual Swing; if you get used to it, you'll be more accurate than automatic.

Other than that, go for fairways, Par 5s in 3 until you have plenty of drive, and make sure you don't get overzealous.

Ok.. so here's what I really dont get. How can I make like a precise shot. In tiger woods, there is a WAY to make a shot, in Mario Golf it seems like guesse and check. Especially on putts and chips.

HELP

you mean how in Tiger if you have caddy thing on it says exactly where to aim (4 inches right, 2 feet 3 inches short)? In Mario Golf and Hot Shots you have to actually read the green.

For making out Tiger Woods to being the more precise golf game, I feel like not helping you.

It's about getting a feel for the greens, and finding out how much break those lines mean. With chipping, make sure you land in front of the hole and let it roll up, rather than trying to literally put it in the cup.

I had a friend here playing MG:TT for the first time, and she picked it up pretty damn fast. And if you're using automatic swing, and want to be worried about making precise shots, stop it now.

Im trying the manual shot, but I dont really GET it... please help or explain how I can figure it out better myself

have you not played a three click golf game before? Click once to start meter, second click to determine the power, final click to determine the accuracy of the shot... if you click before it gets to the start point of the meter, it goes left, click too late, it goes right.

If your shots are going off to the left or right of you target, then you need to work on your third button press. Getting it in the "sweet spot" is important.

Also, if I had to make a general suggestion, use X and make sure you know exactly where your shots are going. Since you're learning, sometimes even hit 3W or 4W off the tee for safety purposes, until you're used to the swing.

I should ask...do you golf at all? Because if not, this might all be foreign. Tiger Woods is weaksauce compared to this.

hey, Tiger is very nice if you turn all the BS off.

I stand by "weaksauce". Forever. Any game that gets me to take my time building a character only to have that character be so powerful that the game becomes broken, forcing me to change characters in order to play with any difficulty, is broken and weaksauce.

Oh, and that and you control spin...IN THE AIR.

Did you read the manual? :lol

I'll let you figure out the 3-click system, but learn to use the back/top spin.

Ex. If you're late on the distance click (2nd), apply back spin by hitting B, B on your 3rd click, or A, B for extreme backspin.

If you're early, apply top spin, use A, A on your 3rd click, or B, A for extreme backspin.
